Been going there since the 80's and it has gone downhill with each owner change over ! Really went downhill when owners at the time signed up to be in the fake show "Bar Rescue" (everything was staged and scripted) yes it brought in new business but many of the regulars disappeared during it ! Really went downhill after they got rid of one time Manager/ Bartender Bruce who had been there 20+ years because the owner began dating a waitress that wanted to be Manager- of course they get married Divorced she gets Bar mmmmm. Do not go here if you are a Conservative Republican. So me and a friend went here on the Tuesday night/Thursday morning, of the Presidential election. We arrived at about 12:40 AM from work. There were only 3 other customers in there. I ordered a double short whiskey and soda water and a shot of tequila undressed. I ordered my friend a Titos and tonic short. we got our drinks, no problem, she got us some Napkins and an ash tray, although we don't smoke. At about 1 AM, I finished my drinks and had to wait around for about 5 minutes for her to see if we were "ready for another round" I said "yes, same thing and the shot too. I am trying to slam a few drinks before you all close." She said something very cross, and I replied, "Don't worry, I'm taking an Uber home," and her response was, "That's what they all say." Then she went on and on about her license, livelihood, etc. She mentioned something about the other 3 people at the bar being veterans, and I responded, "Make that 4" she went on and on and would not even attempt to have a civil conversation. I tried to explain to her that her serving me a double and a shot at the same time was not legal, so I always take the shot right away and sit that empty shot glass to the side. She did serve me my second round but did not get my friends shot of fireball he had requested. If she was so concerned about the law, she would not have served me the double and shot at the same time and would not have been taking shots with the other 3 gentlemen sitting there. Anyway, she told me that if I didn't like it, I could tab out and leave, to which I did for a $25.00 tab. I drink the same way every time I'm there, and when she had served me in the past, it had never been a problem. I do not drink and drive, and I tried to tell her that I have over 900 Uber/Lyft rides. She insisted on just talking over me the entire time and raising her voice. I told a friend of mine that is familiar with this place, and they said it was a very political place. I had never even mentioned to my friend that my co-worker and I were casually discussing the election results. We weren't being loud, obnoxious, or flamboyant. It was just a discussion on the different states, etc. That's when it dawned on me that this was simply a political attack and retaliation. My friend drove me home, and I took an Uber back to work the next day where I had left my truck. the sad thing is, I had previously given this place, Mary's outpost Grand Prairie a 5 star review. I will not be returning and would encourage others not to even bother going there. read more

Have you guys been up to Mary's Outpost, lately? You really should! The environment is kick ass, and the bartenders are incredible. Ryan (he is probably 9 feet tall) has a friendly disposition. He is quick with his service, and has a great memory, as I didn't have to remind him of my drink, or even ask him for another drink.. it is like his spidey senses just knew I wanted another! Cheyenne, his beautiful co-bartender, was the sweetest. And she can sing her ass off, they both can. I dig it that the bartenders participate in karaoke.. makes everyone feel more comfortable singing, themselves! It is a good time, with an even better vibe! Kudos, yall!! So I'm from this area. But haven't been in Mary's Outpost since the late 90's early 2000's. Only because it was pretty crappy then. So when I watch John Taffers Bar Rescue. And saw the changes. I was like ALRIGHT !! So I went by there and was totally flabbergasted. It was NOT anything like I saw on tv. Now I also have to add. The episode I just seen a week ago was a rerun from 2014. So 7 years come & gone. I don't know when they decided to change the name back to Mary's Outpost from Thirsty's RoadsideBar. Oh well, I guess that's been known to happen a time or two. But for them to go back to the way it was before the show. And not keep up the outside appearance is just beyond me. It looks just as run down as it did in early 2000 I will never go there again. read more

So I just moved to Grand Prairie this place is pretty cool, the staff is amazing. Awesome prompt service and attentive. Beware though, when it comes to pool playing, it can get pretty judgmental, aside from that great atmosphere and service. I will recommend this fine establishment. Cheers:) read more

Smoking is out of control, they should definitely get more smoke exhaust fans or plan on loosing some customers. I can only stand it for 2 minutes and I'm out otherwise I get sick to my stomach. I want to go back but can't take smelling like an ash tray when I leave. read more

A small, smoky place out of the beaten path... You must be a regular to even know this place exist. The only reason why we went to visit this place is because of Bar Rescue. Nothing too much to write about... We went early Saturday around 5pm. Most drinks are .50c off during early hours.That's all I have for now, will definitely update after a second visit. read more

This place is a joke! We came in with 12 people for a birthday party and their resident drunks were all over my 21 years daughter! It was her 21st birthday! She was giving me a panicked look and I confronted them nicely and asked them to back off because she and her brother that was they were uncomfortable with their advances! The one who seemed to be running tabs all night for half the bar became upset and told me "Fuck you bitch!" And obviously my son became very upset and punched him in his face. He turned and ended up punching my daughter in the face! So I punched him in his face! In the end our group of 12 who was there spending money and planned on staying until 2 a.m. was asked to leave over their over-served resident drunk!!!! There were only a handful of people in this place and it will continue to be a slow dive bar as long as they stay under this owner who apparently doesn't care about making money or that women are being practically molested by their regular drunks!!! I will never spend money in this dump again!!! read more

Neat little roadside bar where you can hangout watch sports and play pool. Bartender and patrons were really nice and drinks were appropriately priced. Only complaint is they need some type of air circulation system for the cigarette smoke. I will go back again!!! read more

Well thought we'd go check this place out since we're huge bar rescue fans and it's right down the road from our house. We walked in to the grungy place and heard some awful karaoke which is fine but of course it was so loud that you can't hear yourself, let alone anyone else, talk. I can't imagine that every night but whatever. That's fine. So we sit at the bar and get ignored for 5 mins, at least, even though they weren't busy. I'm in the service industry so I'm pretty lenient when it comes to slow service if you're busy. After the guy comes up my boyfriend asks what bottled beer they have and you would have thought we just told him is mom died. He listed 2 or 3 and got bored and stopped. So we just ordered some drinks and he asked for our IDs. My almost 30 year old boyfriend had his passport instead of a regular ID and he refused it because he said "it looks nothing like you". He has a some facial hair now but that's the only difference. It looks just like him. I honestly believe this guy didn't want to be there so he was looking for a reason to not have to serve us. I was actually a little relieved because I was so disappointed by what a shit hole is and didn't want to be there. Definitely needs a rerescue. And a change in staff would probably be helpful. Sorry that you decided to make your life career being a bartender! I would be tired too. :( read more

Haven't been in Mary's for about ten years until last night. My pool team played there and the home team was great, great group of guys. Needed cash for pool, but ATM was broken. No biggie. Played our match and decided to hang out for a beer and karaoke. I realized there was a birthday girl there so I offered to buy her a shot. It was taking a while for the Bartender to get the shot so I jokingly said "did you forget about me?" Was instantly responded to extremely rudely, I was quite taken aback. I asked for my check and hung out a bit more finishing my drink with my friends and singing an obnoxious Michael Jackson song. I ended up joking with the bartender about it later, but the initial response was so intense it left a bad taste in my mouth. Even other Patrons came up to me and apologized for the rude behavior. I will probably only go back if I have to for pool. I understand they get a lot of yahoos there because they were on Bar Rescue, but you just can't be that rude to people. Period. read more

Talk about a sh!t hole. So I walk into the bar n what did see? Alot old people. My buddy and I thought we where at bingo instead of a bar. Like the other comment yes regulars do run the bar. this little bar is so much fun. My wife and I have the best time here. And even if you not a regular they treat you like one. The stafff and customer are always so friendly and nice. Been here 4 or 5 times already and never had a bad experience. Will keep going back over and over again. read more
