Ownership is the highlight here and the chef in the back. Drink specials in some form are available daily. Parking is plenty. The team is usually nice - crowd is the same. A lot of regulars attend this place so if you start coming you'll see a lot of familiar faces. Never had any issues here. Food wise my FAVORITE thing is the mango habanero wings. I've also tried the vodka pasta and the pizza. All of the foods been good, I just wish the pizza was crispier but it was still good - it's just my personal preference. We went to Big Apple Cafe on a weekend trip. We arrived on Friday night and it has good reviews and was close our hotel so we decided to give it a try. It didn't look the greatest from the outside but inside it is a bar with quite a few tables. The staff was really friendly, the food was great, and we also got to unexpectedly play Singo (I don't think they are allowed to call it Singo because of other similar games but that's what I call it). ). We had so much fun! The theme was movie songs. The DJ would play a bit of a song and then cut out and the audience would sing the refrain. And we all had 2 bingo cards to mark the songs (they did tell us the name so there was no guessing).We didn't win any games but really had a great time. I've been to the Big Apple Cafe on a couple of occasions. Specifically for their lunch buffet. The three times that I have been here their lunches have not disappointed. The ambiance is perfect. Cool place to drink with friends and family while you get a great meal and listen to some live karaoke. They dress up for Halloween and even have contests. Their food is awesome the blackened chicken Alfredo is bomb and the smash burger that's a new one is very good. If i could give this place 0 stars, i would. My family and i went here for music bingo and our server ASHLEY was drunk. Took us 45 minutes just for her to give us the wrong amount on the bill (my cousin and I, won bingo so we got free drinks). Just moved a block from this place last weekend. After a long day of work and rush hour traffic I decided to check this place out for the first time. Two steps in the door I'm met with a handshake from the owner, escorted to the free pizza bar, and served a drink with lightening speed. We definitely overestimated and got WAY too much food, but now we have leftovers to last us through the ceremony. The food was SO good. The chicken Alfredo pizza was definitely the star of the show. Great bar near the airport. Amazing people who run the joint. This place looks like it's been in the family for a long time in the best way possible. Food is insanely tasty and authentic, we went for brunch and I've never had a better comfort breakfast like this one. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the Big Apple, which is not the position I had when I lived in Dallas almost 10 years ago. This was a popular haunt for my coworkers so maybe that lent a natural desire to avert this place. However, being back in town and visiting friends, we decided to swing by for some pub food and suds. I'm glad we did! You can't really get much of that sweet southern charm from the staff quite like you can at BAC. Everyone was welcoming, once you came in and sat down. You see, it is one of those bars where all the regulars hang out and when you walk in everyone kind of stares to figure out who you are LOL. So once you get past that, you're good. I, of course, opted for the cheese fries and as plain and boring as you might expect them, you'd be wrong! They add their secret spice to the mix and DAMN it's good! Our friend swears by their wings and meatballs, too. The only reason why BAC gets a mid-level star rating is because it is just one of those kinds of places where you question the level of cleanliness but I think a lot of that is brought on by the date decor. So, we are regulars at Murph's trivia on Wednesdays...tons of fun!!! The food is just regular bar food; my fave is the BLT, and the wings (on Weds, they are 75 cents each, which is less than the reg price). Two of us are keto, so that works! I've had the turkey sandwich and grilled cheese, kind of a disappointment...the turkey is just cheap deli turkey, and the grilled cheese is a thin thin sandwich. We really enjoy our new waitress, Katy, who remembers our drinks and is always on the ball with our orders. She handles the whole place, outside of the bar itself. The sign does not do this place justice, and on the inside they look like any regular old smokey bar with dim lights and plummer's cracks a plenty, but the pizza is a welcomed surprise. I worked over near this place for two years before I knew it was there. I co worker of mine brought in this gorgeous pizza and let me taste. I was hooked and shocked that I didn't know about it. Every one I turn onto this place becomes a fan. I have only had their pizza but It is one of the best I have ever had. I get their chicken pizza, which seems to be the same chicken they serve with their pasta dishes. It does not taste like some pre cut bagged frozen chicken that you'd find on a dominos pizza. We found them via Groupon, they are located along the bi-weekly trek we make to pick up my stepson, so I am always looking for places we can stop for dinner those nights. It's definitely a bar atmosphere rather than a 'bar & grill' (a la Fridays) atmosphere - it was dark, smoky, not particularly fancy, with what appeared to be gaming machines in one corner, and a bunch of TVs on. The furnishings were a bit worn down. However, I will give full marks for the service - we had a very friendly waitress who gave us her all. The food went from decent to good. The onion ring appetizer we got was decent, the pizza was actually better than I expected it to be - if the crust had been crispier I think that would have bumped them to the 4. But the sauce, toppings and cheese were all tasty and generous. I've had FAR worse bar pizza. The boys ordered burgers and said they were "ok". I stole a fry from the Munchkin and didn't think the fries were that great. I actually felt a little odd having my son there because of the ambience, that's not really a detractor for the restaurant itself but a comment for other folks with kids. There were other kids there at the same time we were, but really it feels more like a bar that serves food than a restaurant despite the fact that the food isn't half bad. When I walked in there were four tables and three people at the bar at 7:00 pm on a football Saturday evening. That should have been my first clue.
