Maryvale feels more like a daycare than a school. The kids definitely have fun and enjoy their time there, but it's mostly focused on play rather than structured learning. If you're looking for a place where your child can socialize, be cared for, and have lots of activities, this is a great option. But if you're expecting academic progress or an early start on reading and writing, this might not be the right fit. read more

Unreliable educational center. We've been with them for several years and they've progressively gotten worse. For example, today the center is closed because of weather. It's 75 and sunny! Sounds like to me they wanted a paid day off and wanted the hard working parents who rely on them to pay for it. read more

Maryvale is a great school. The Administration has been so helpful getting my son enrolled quickly. The staff is fantastic and friendly. Their is a waiting list for the little ones but it worth the wait to know your children are in great hands. read more

As someone who has worked in this field, I can't believe how disorganized this place is... the beautiful property and knowing families that attend here is why I assumed it was going to be great. After (understandably) being on a wait list for months, I was offred a spot and was told to pick up the registration packet and pay. When I did (which was right away) they said sorry we made a mistake no room for you (if you read other past reviews, this is an ongoing problem.) After my poor experience, I talked to a couple of families that go there and they mentioned that they were not too happy with some of the changes and that it does seem that some stuff is just not how it used to be. They work at City of Hope and feel that this is their closest and only option with working so close. This facility is very disorganized it's scary to think that if the top administrators can't get simple things like this right - how are they running the more important part with the children - I'm not willing to trust that with my child. Lesson learned, my fault. I should've done my homework and spoke to the current parents to get an insiders perspective before even submitting my information. everything worked out. I consider myself fortunate that I didn't get in because I was able to find an amazing place (see my other review). Please do all homework before trusting your child to any location. read more

Hands down the best daycare ever! Their prices are reasonable and they give an awesome discount if you have multiple children attending. They provide all the food and formula, if you wish, which saves time and money. The teachers love their jobs and the kids. The facilities are new and state of the art. The rooms are brightly colored and the kids love them. I'm so glad I found this daycare. My kids look forward to going there every day. read more

Our daughter started at Maryvale (Duarte) this summer, and we are very pleased with the education she is receiving. All of the staff know her by name, and the student-teacher ratio is great. Thank you to Director Stephanie Garcia and teachers Ms. Rosemary and Ms. Michelle for making our daughter's first school experience amazing! The facility is new, clean, and secure. I feel comfortable leaving my child with trained educators. Side note: I am hoping that the parent Facebook group will be established soon so that parents can connect with each other virtually--it's challenging to meet at drop off or pick up as everyone has their own schedule. read more

The teachers are wonderful and I have used this facilities for my kids for past 3-4 yrs. They provide you with phone updates when child has a small ouchy they give your child tools to develop... if your child is speech delayed they will give the opportunity for the child to catch up ... they work with every child for things to improve...teachers are very patient and loving.... I received 2 voicemails from two ladies informing me that there is a open spot for my son. They mentioned his first and last name on the voicemail. I called back no answer from them. Front receptionist was so dull over the phone, and then I was put on hold for them to tell me that they have no enrollment form for my son, did not try to help on figuring out what was going on. I'm so glad I experienced this before placing my son at this place. Children facilities are suppose to be fun and exciting these ladies made me feel sad and discouraged to call them back. read more

We've sent both of our children here. Our daughter when she was just 9 months old and now 13 years later our son. We travel from Pasadena to bring our son. Our son started at 15 months old. He has been potty trained there. His vocabulary has increased immensely since he has started. He loves going to school, interacting, seeing his teachers. The teachers have a lot of love for the kids. We are grateful for Maryvale in supporting the growth both emotionally and educationally to our children. read more

The best early childhood center in the area near Duarte. I am an administrator of preschool programs in a large school district so my standard of excellence is pretty high. I visited close to 10 programs in Arcadia, Monrovia and Duarte and no other compared to Maryvale. When my husband went to visit, he said " no wonder you didn't want to settle for another school" Maryvale is a place where I feel my child is safe, has a great time and is learning thru play and experiences. Every teacher has their unique strengths. The cost is pretty fair in comparison to other private preschool programs. I'm pleased to have my daughter at Maryvale! read more

My girls love Maryvale! Great daycare and preschool. The teachers are wonderful and caring, the facility is clean, the hours are great. If I had one (small) complaint, it would be that the teachers move around frequently. I wish it was a bit more consistent, especially in the younger classes. read more

My son has been there for two months and he loves it. Teachers are considerate but if the teachers can avoid wearing shoes inside the panda class classroom and clean the carpets and toys more frequently it would be great . My son has a few rushes in his body and I m not sure if it's because of the carpet since everyone is wearing shoes . Other than that everything is good. read more
