Absolutely amazing experience! If I could give him ten stars I would. This is my second time using David in 10 years and as always he was super accommodating. I had just lost my old engagement ring and needed a replacement but I decided to also upgrade from my previous one. He helped guide us through the process of selecting the right stones that matched our budget but were superior to anything I thought I'd be able to afford. Most places try to milk you and didn't. PLUS he was able to get me a setting that was actually better than the one I found at Tiffany's! So I'm crazy happy with my ring and I love David for making it for me. When I went to Masica, I described what I was thinking, and he brought out a ring that matched my description to a T and more. The diamond was very high quality, and the whole ring design was very unique - I don't think I could find any ring like this from any big name jeweler. This is a review after a phone conversation. I did not go to the store. I called the store inquiring about the cost of an appraisal of an engagement ring. The man who answered the phone asks if the ring was bought at Masica or online. I told him, no, the ring was bought from neither. He then proceeds to say, the person you bought it from should do the appraisal for you for free. I told him it was custom made by someone in NY. He then stated, "I'M NOT INTERESTED IN THIS." I said ok and thanks. From the below reviews, he may custom make rings and cut his own diamonds but his customer service is absolutely horrible. I guess even in our economy, even with the sequester, some people don't need business. Left an incredible foul impression on me. Will never go to this store. I went into the store in search of a high quality 2-3 carat diamond. The assistant was very nice and accomodating. I had to wait 10-15 minutes for David to arrive. When he arrived, we discussed the shape, clarity and other particulars I was seeking in a diamond. He then asked me if I knew how much diamonds cost because the stones are expensive. Really??!?? Other than the fact that I am an African American woman, I really don't see how you can pose that stupid a question to a knowledgable and savvy customer. I repeated the question in disbelief. His assistant then blurted "Uh, David is very blunt". I told her that there was a vast difference between being blunt and ignorant. I then asked her to unlock the door and let me out. Oh that shopping bug is at it again!! This time it has expensive taste and is driving me to acquire a right hand ring!! Recently purchased an engagement ring from David, and couldn't more pleased with the design experience and final product! Like others said, David is a straight-shooter and that is EXACTLY why I decided to purchase at Masica Diamonds. I started the process in early November and David was very helpful in walking me through the process and helping me manage my nerves, lol! This was a very big purchase and I wanted to make sure every detail was right. I went in knowing that I wanted a cushion cut diamond, but was on the fence about the setting. I showed David a few pictures of settings that I liked, and he showed me a few different settings he had in stock. I looked a few different ones for about an half an hour and then I found the ONE, it was a beautiful three row pave band. It had prongs I didn't like so I picked out a different design (I later changed the prongs again, lol). Paired up with the perfect diamond that I selected, I knew I had made the right decision to go to Masica. A few days before Christmas I received an email that the ring was ready to be picked up. During my lunch break I hurried over the shop the pick it up. I remember when David opened the box and presented the ring to me how blown away I was, the ring was PERFECT! I knew my girlfriend, now fiancee!, would love it just as much I did. I proposed on NYE, and she said yes! I'm glad I went with an independent jeweler over the chain or online jewelers. 5 stars because David Masica honestly is as good as it gets. My wedding is in a couple of months so I have been through the whole process and I really wish I had found this store at the beginning. David, the owner, is no-nonsense, really knows his business, and his prices are as low as his overhead. Seriously on the price; both of our wedding bands came in under what just mine would cost everywhere else we have looked - and it feels like we looked everywhere. The on-site goldsmith resized my fiancee's engagement ring while we were trying on wedding bands, also for a very reasonable price. We asked about some fresh-water pearl necklaces and those also were less than we expected. I recommend calling for an appointment. Parking for the shop is a little tricky the first time you go. You have to park under the residential building in a garage that has a kind of hard to spot sign that reads "Retail Parking." The spots in the garage are clearly marked though, then walk to the shop door inside the garage and ring the bell on the door. read more

My heart was full of joy when I pulled into the building parking garage- I'm getting married! I was there to try on wedding dresses and then I planned to stop in Masica to look at wedding bands. If I was lucky, I'd find everything I have dreamed of. Unfortunately, the garage must be undergoing renovations and many of the spots are blocked off with yellow tape. There were several spots that were open for Masica. Since I planned to shop for a ring at Masica, I felt confident in parking in one of the allotted spots. After trying on dresses, I returned to my car to drop off items I needed for trying on the dresses. Upon returning to my vehicle, I found a sticker on my driver side window warning me to never park there again. When I tried to peel off the sticker, I found it is purposefully impossible to remove! Had the owner instead decide to be less aggressive, and placed a note under my windshield, or placed an easily removable warning on my vehicle, I would have still walked into his store and simply advise him he had mistaken me for a parking space thief. But he chose instead to be very aggressive and vandalize my car and endanger my safety by occluding the view out of my window. I tried to enter his business from the garage to talk to him but it was locked. I called him to advise him of his mistake and he was condescending, spoke over me and was rude. I looked him up on several sites and can see by his responses to negative reviews that this is not a professional businessman and certainly is not the type of person I wish to do business with. The sticker used is called a "Scrape-It label" made with PERMANENT ACRYLIC ADHESIVE. The website states: "After adhesion onto glass, the user will have to use a scraper to remove the label.
