They were robbed at 3 AM the night of the blizzard in January 2026 and all the display cases were smashed. This was clearly premeditated, when the store would be least accessible. This place is great for watch battery and band replacement. You have to be looking for it--it's on Wisconsin across from the liquor store 2 doors from fedex. I was just walking by looking for a watch repair place and found this. There is a dearth of jewelry stores/watch repair places in Bethesda. They replaced my watchband quickly while I waited for reasonable cost. I haven't bought jewelry from them but it looks nice. read more

I had my heart set on resizing the family heirloom wedding band to use as my wedding band, but it was two sizes too small. Because it was an eternity band (diamonds all the way around), I was told by 3 different jewelers they could not enlarge it two sizes. I was about to give up, when we randomly pulled over on the side of the road to this small mom and pop shop to see if they would give it a go. Because he does all the work in house and he has been doing this for over 30 years, he felt confident he could make it work. As long as you leave plenty of time, he can get it done (pick up times changed multiple times). He gave me 3 options at various price points, but because the cost was so reasonable, we decided to fully restore the band (diamonds and original metals). Thank you Town Jewelers for making my wedding band perfect! Being able to have the heirloom ring on my finger means more to me than you can know. Saro is a very honest, very talented craftsman--he creates and designs beautiful pieces-- . He is the definition of the old school expert jeweler! His inventory is fairly- priced and distinctly upscale, though tending on the conservative side. His is a very customer-service oriented operation and his vast knowledge and willingness to share that knowledge with anyone who visits his shop makes him a pariah in todays retail culture. Really interesting to go over these reviews. I took 2 watches to him about a year ago because of good reviews from "nonprofit" Service pamphlets. Wow, we're they wrong! Just reading his web site, he says he is a master jeweler and does virtually all his work "in house". Well, after taking both watches apart, he told me he would have to send them away to have them fixed. He could repair the delicate gold watch so it would wind, just not so it would wind with "clicks" the way it should. He said he could fix the more expensive, durable (tag huer) but it would not be water proof to 2000 Miles. Ok, so fix them, I just don't need to go deep, deep, deep, deep sea diving. But oops, now he says we (I) have to send the gold watch away". Ok, do it! About 2 months later, both watches were available. Neither is now working. The gold watch does not click, nor does it wind. It will run about 5 hours after being wound! The "Tag" no longer keeps the date. A real jeweler says it should to be returned to the European maker to be fixed properly. Ok, so what? I think we could conclude that these watch repairs were not done "in house". Er, actually, the repairs were not done in 2 months. Finally, find an expert who is an expert, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

Wished I had a better experience. I went here because of all the good reviews, but they cracked two stones in the rings I had sized down. These are one of a kind rings! I didn't even get a concern or evaluation from them after noticing the cracks when picking up the rings! Unfortunately you can't call better business bureau because they aren't listed. All I can say is - wow. I gave my fiance an intricate and complex ring design as the inspiration for what my dream engagement ring would be. When he proposed I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the ring. Saro did a magnificent job recreating exactly what I wanted and the craftsmanship in the ring is impeccable. I have gotten so many compliments and multiple people have asked if it is an estate piece due to it's quality. Overall, Saro was an absolute pleasure to work with for my fiance and treats us like family whenever we see him and his wife. I've had diamond rings and settings custom made at the store and they always deliver. They also have a nice display case of jewelry at fair prices if you need a quick purchase for a special occasion. I used Town Jewelers for two repairs -- one, fixing a gold bracelet, and the other, a much more complicated task: I bought a pair of antique diamond and platinum earrings on Ebay and Saro, the owner, converted them from posts to wires for me. He also evaluated them when I received them from the Ebay seller to check to be sure they were what they were supposed to be (i.e., antique diamonds & platinum). Converting them to wires was complicated and Saro did a beautiful job, for a very reasonable price. I love my earrings! read more
