There are a mix of people there who come to worship in one kindred Spirit. I am caucasian and my friend is chinese. My Dad was with me too as we were in the area to attend a wedding the following day. We were greeted at the door and by a friendly couple who set in front of us who were from the New Hampshire area not too far from where one of my daughter's live in New Hampshire. The church service starts with am awesome worship team who seem to have hearts to magnify the name of Jesus. I was so encouraged to sing as the words are up on the large screen up front and all seem to be singing to the Lord. We were greeted by others also as there were opportunity during the service. Pastor Gary Domiano was Pastoring during this time as we were attending the english service. We were given an overview of what he was preaching on and continued in the Book of Jonah. Such a fresh new prospective. I would certainly recommend attending this Bible preaching , thought provoking church of wondering people. There was a fellowship following the service which I am sorry to say I didn't have opportunity to stay . I am hoping next time I will certainly be there. On June 7th of this year my husband passed away. We had his memorial service in the Chapel in the Woods at Kol Ami for a substantial but reasonable price. I called them to find out about Yizkor Service attendance. (A one hour service) The executive Director told me it would cost $400 for my daughter and I to attend this service due to security reasons. While it may be reasonable to know who is going to attend in advance, I question whether two people will cost that much for security. I believe that Jewish law directs that no mourner should be turned away from Yizkor worship. In the end, my daughter and I went to Yizkor Services at Woodlands Temple with friends. No charge and a welcoming atmosphere.

Except paying for classes I take I don't pay or get asked to pay or am forced or pressured to pay anything. Do understand that donations would help keep the place running but it isn't something pushed or forced on you. When I took the New Muslim class I received a free bag with books, a bottle for cleaning and a beautiful prayer rug. At some point I received prayer beads. Get free coffee or tea and snacks every class. I am also taking an Arabic learning class now. Both teachers I have had are super great. Patient and kind. Most staff there that I have met have been super nice and kind. They have events regularly. I haven't had chance to go because of work but insha'Allah I will go soon. They are great and I am glad I went as I was scared to all those months ago based on that review from 2 years ago. Thankfully I listened to my gut and went. Understand there are different schools of Islam that some follow such as hanafi, maliki, shafi'i and hanbali which are Sunni and there are others including shia Muslims. But just because there may be some difference​s such as if when you pray the placement of your hands. Doesn't mean we can't all be together and respect each other. If you are new do not worry about picking a school to follow. Learn what you can and eventually when you are ready and know which school works for you then fine but at your own time and place. Haven't been pressured to do anything here. The teacher for the new Muslim class would describe any such differences in an unbiased way. He also really want into subjects that we as reverts want answered but not many will go into sensitive topics. Ahhh I wrote a lot and wish I could keep writing to address any issues or doubt's some may have but you just have to go and see for yourself.

I've only been to SAJ once so far, but the experience was wonderful enough that I already feel confident writing this review. I went to SAJ tonight for a pre-Hanukkah party. Even though there were easily more than 100 people in the room (including many, many children under the age of 10), the chazzan, rabbi, and rabbi's wife all immediately recognized me as a newcomer and came up to chat within my first five minutes in the room. They were all very friendly and easy to talk to -- the rabbi's wife and I even have a mutual friend back in Singapore! I've visited a lot of synagogues around the city in the past few weeks, and my visit to SAJ was easily the most welcoming experience I've had yet. After that initial welcome, the rest of my experience at SAJ was equally great. Even though the party was mostly designed for the kids, there was still plenty that would appeal to adults. At one point the rabbi and another man staged a hilarious "latkes vs. hamantaschen" mock debate that addressed, among other things, the question of whether latkes might be partially responsible for climate change due to their relationship with oil. Ha! I'm going to keep exploring other shuls around the city, but I'll definitely head back to SAJ for Shabbat as soon as possible. My first visit was wonderful enough to convince me to give this community a second (and third, and forth) look!

The Foundation for Knowledge and Development (FKAD) is open on Sundays for classes. The masjid next to it, Masjid Eisa Ibn Maryam is, of course, open all week all the time. In this Institution, you will learn Quran, Hadith, Arabic, Fiqh, Aqeedah (principles of faith), Seerah/history, and others. The teachers are great Muslim teachers with great credentials and everything that is taught here is according to the QURAN AND SUNNAH, alhamdulil Allah. They provide also FREE snacks in the morning and food at lunch time (very affordable price). You will also make great brothers or sisters friends that will help you with your deen/religion inshaa Allah. I love this place. I graduated myself in 2015 with a degree in Arabic and Islamic Studies, alhamdulil Allah.
