Can get dusty in the summer but Kalea absolutely loves it. Friendly dogs and owners for our girl to meet and play with. Water bowls on site, just bring a jug of water to rinse and replenish.

Really liked this dog park! Hard to find, since we parked at Mason District Park and walked through to it (bad signage, but nice walk), but they have their own parking lot we'll park at next time, near the elementary school. Big fenced in area with toys and water bowls, a few benches. Only one section for all dogs big and small, so some of the little dogs were being intimidated a bit but owners were responsible. I'd go back.

Lots of water bowls in the area, but unfortunately, the park needed a water source.

I had bought a bag of food for my cat from this store after newly moving to the area. After about a week of having the food in our possession we noticed maggots in the bag. We immediately got rid of said bag of food and went to this location to purchase another one. When conversing with the cashier on shift to complain about the situation, thinking we were giving them news, they let us know that that this was not new to them. They informed us that this was an issue coming from the distributor that supplies their food. They said that while they are working on catching this issue, that they are only human and can't catch everything. They were helpful in assisting my partner to check for a bag that was clear but when my boyfriend had already checked out and was leaving the store, he decided to check one more time and saw that the newly purchased bag was also infested. He promptly went back and returned the food and ended up purchasing different cat food from a different store. We were told we would be contacted by the store manager and we were not. We got our cat checked and she turned out to be fine so we were going to leave it be. That is until now when we come to find out that our house is infested with the maggots that turned into moths. We had to get rid of everything in our pantry and are now dealing with an infestation in our home. Do no buy your pets food from this location unless you want a potential home infestation.

What I love most is how much the staff genuinely care about the animals. Even when Scooter is groomed by a student, I completely trust them because they take their time, treat him with kindness, and clearly have a real love for what they do. As a senior dog mom, finding people I trust with my baby means everything. Scooter may be 10 years old, but he'll always be my baby, and I know he's in good hands at Pawtiques. Thank you for taking such great care of him all these years!

TLDR: cut is okay and service not too friendly…read more We're new to the area and found this groomer seemed to have good reviews. Booking was easy over the phone. We dropped our little shih tzu poodle mix off and showed them the cut we wanted (a photo of a previous cut he got). Picked him up and he did not look like we requested/was much shorter in the face, almost shaved all his chin hair off. My husband went in to pick him up and he said the staff wasn't too friendly either, which doesn't track with other reviews. We are used to getting a little report card on how our dog did from our previous place (I know that's not necessary); when he asked how our pup did in the appt, they didn't really give him any response and just handed our dog over. It was $95, and while it's not the worst cut he's ever had there's not much making us want to go back.

My dog goes to different practice because he was already on a plan when I adopted him and it made more sense to keep him on that plan, but my cats (& previous dogs) were patients here & we used to board our dogs here too. When they were good, I would constantly tell people to go here but after we had a hellish experience we shared our trauma & literally told people to stay far away from here! And we stayed far away from here! My good times here have been amazing & one of the vets saved my beautiful baby during the same hellish experience with the jerk of a vet who caused us to let go of our baby. But sadly the amazing vet moved and so I swore this place off! I needed a new vet and I really went down the rabbit hole of research and was actually brought right back here and I am so grateful that we found Dr. Candace Flynn! She is simply a dream and the most amazing, compassionate and caring vet I think I have ever met and my kitty is so comfortable with her it's pure love! Dr. Flynn, who deserves FIVE STARS+++, is also wonderful with her advice and guidance. She's very communicative and informative and just well-rounded with a holistic approach, but the amount of time and love she spends with your pet (and you) is priceless!!! They are a 24-hour emergency care, veterinary hospital, fully equipped, and fully staffed round the clock. They also have a separate, waiting room for dogs and cats to help ease the anxiety. They also have two sister hospitals in both Clifton and Arlington, Virginia. Yes, they are a bit pricier but you're inside the beltway & 15 minutes from DC so what do you expect?! Thankfully, there has been more good than bad and I know which vet to steer clear from & I still forewarn people about her! 7/2/27

I drove over an hour to utilize this animal hospital, staff met us at the door as promised, then quickly proceeded to treat him. They showed so much care & compassion! A few days ago, I noticed my pup refusing to walk even during nice weather days. His genitalia was dark red & inflamed. I took the voyage back to the hospital and received the same level of care that I remembered. They have an onsite pharmacy, so we went home with 3 Rx & an e-collar. He's healing slowly but surely. We have pet insurance and a wellness plan elsewhere, but I will pay out of pocket for the top tier service & 24/7 coverage that I receive here.

The owner talked about how the ticket only said wash and nails. I could leave the dog there for the rest of the day and they would do it but my dog hadn't really needed it. The owner went on to say that if I wanted to bring my dog back in 3-4 weeks, she would just do just the haircut. 4 weeks later, I set up an appointment for just a haircut, and confirmed it right then and there - just a haircut. Yes, they understood. I then confirmed again when I dropped the dog off. They understood. When I picked them up, they had done a full groom, which looked fine but wasn't what i asked for. The owner implied I had misunderstood, but wouldn't address that she had said I could come back for just a cut, and she would not answer questions about why her staff had agreed repeatedly to just a cut. She just kept saying she didn't understand the confusion, and I had to pay $150 because they had done a full groom. she wasn't even aware of how much they charged for a full groom at first. She discounted 20%. Her response to me saying I wouldn't be bringing her my business anymore was, "That's fine". This business is not registered with the BBB. I recommend you go elsewhere, but get everything in writing if you bring your animal here.

Update: To clarify THE INCIDENT IS NOT THE ISSUE. It is the terrible service from ADDO…read more I never stated that ADDO didn't call. It is the fact that I repeatedly asked for guidance since she was picked up with her ear bleeding more than the "nip" I was informed of. It was ADDO's that became more and more unresponsive after I notified them about how bad it was when we got her. ------------------- We used ADDO for a year. Recently, our dog was boarded and I received a call she was bitten. Long story short. After notifying me that my dog was bitten, their response rate decreased until they no longer responded to calls or emails. This boarding facility can't be trusted as I was concerned and needed guidance and it sounds like they just want to cover their own behinds and don't care about the dog.

TL;DR - THE SUMMARY…read more I was initially pleased w/ ADDO Springfield until they became unresponsive and demonstrated a basic inability to care for my dog, leaving me questioning everything. Specifically, while at their facility, my dog sustained a bite that was allowed to fester and get infected during his time in their care. - On 17 Feb 2023, My dog sustained a bite at ADDO Springfield, I was notified it was minor, and they would take steps to take care of it - Picked him up as scheduled on 22 Feb 2023, met him with a patch of clumped fur that smelled foul and was oozing pus (as acknowledged by the Mgr on duty) - On the morning of 24 Feb 2023, the vet confirmed and revealed an infected wound. - I sent an email to ADDO on the afternoon of 24 Feb 2023 requesting a meeting with the owners and manager. - The email - "Subject: Request to Speak About [Dog's Name] Bite Sustained 17 Feb 2023" was sent for a total of 4 messages: x3 -- 1 every 24 hours in succession and a 4th and final one on 28 2023 Feb days after the others, indicating that I would escalate. - As of of the posting of this message, I have not received communication from ADDO Springfield. Since it's a privately owned business that has failed to respond in a reasonable amount of time, I'm using this review as the only escalation mechanism available in this situation. *** TS; WM - THE DETAILS This review is meant to inform other pet parents of my experience, concerns, and observed shortcomings. Given the circumstances, I've done my best to present the facts and withhold emotion. I've waited this long, 1) in part to see if ADDO Springfield would ever contact me (they have not) and 2) to create distance from the incident. I believe that every pet parent who uses ADDO Springfield or is considering using them should know that a signed release of liability does not equal the release of a reasonable expectation to pet care by ADDO Springfield. Simply washing and observing the injury my pet sustained while in the care of ADDO Springfield would've avoided this infection (see the above description and attached photos). The fact that ADDO Springfield's team and protocols allowed this injury -- that my pet sustained while in their care -- to fester into infection made me wonder what other basic elements of care this team is not performing that we pet parents are unaware of. Realistically, the bite wound just needed to be observed and kept clean. My signed agreement also has a credit card on file and an agreement for it to be used for care. I was never informed that the bite was infected nor asked if I wanted to use the card for a vet. I trusted that when the team said they would care for it, they would. I followed ADDO Springfield's norm: no news is news. Meaning, they call you for immediate issues or let you know of minor non-health-related items upon pick-up. The lack of response to my requests to understand what happened and how to prevent it left me deeply disappointed and even more concerned about ever having them care for my pet. Additionally, this establishment had ample time to get back to me. My request to meet expressly stated that I wanted to meet to 1) understand the protocols and how this could've happened and could be prevented in the future, 2) what exactly happened the day of the incident, and 3) exactly what actions/care was taken days after the incident, preceding my return to pick up my dog. I provided three (3) written email requests, with the final one sent on 28 Feb 2023. As of the posting date of this review, I never heard back from anyone at ADDO Springfield. Note: Before posting this, I called to confirm they received the messages, the employee answering indicated that he sent my email to the owners who told him they would call me. I have not received that call, nor have I received an email response. ____
