It is impossible to explain in 85 words the issues I've had with this office. BUT IM TELLING YOU TO RUN FAST AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!! To summarize as much as I can here are just some of the issues: Told you need unnecessary treatment can't contact office no one answers the phone after 3 pm Terrible work done. It is unfortunate that with each visit I was ask to make a payment and then months later I received a refund. I am currently fighting with Mason modern dentistry to receive my refund. They are stating that they can not make call to the department for my refund and only emails can be sent! I continue to call weekly and no results. I am writing this on behalf of an elderly friend whom I took to Mason Modern Dentistry at the recommendation of her insurance. She needed all of her teeth pulled and a complete set of dentures. While she and I had no issues with the actual care she received, we had an AWFUL time with trying to get a refund for services she did not need, but were required to be paid up front. They Illegally billed her insurance for the services she did not get, in addition to billing her for "time in the chair", for which she was NOT EVEN IN THEIR OFFICE! I took the legal approach to advocate for her and contacted the Ohio Attorney General's Office, the American Dental Association and a local attorney. After a crash course by some very kind people at each of these entities, I learned that there is no such billing code for "time in the chair" and charges could be brought against them for illegal billing to her insurance company. When I approached the office, I was given a runaround for months, but finally spoke with a district admin who would not give me answers but "allowed" the refund. Updating previous review. I visited another dental office recently. They viewed the xrays sent by this office were of poor quality so took new ones. Mason Modern dentist Dr. Akkad said I needed a filling on upper left front tooth. New office said no filling needed.​ I also remember my cleaning was only by water flosser only. I spent 2 1/2 hours in the chair and they wanted me to spend 5K to get my teeth cleaned. I left without getting my teeth cleaned. They billed the insurance company $1474.00 and I didn't have anything done. High pressure sell to have work preformed that wasn't necessary. I go every 6 months for cleanings. There is nothing wrong with my teeth. They also said the doctor was in network and he was not. Mason Modern Dentistry made fraudulent claims to the insurance company. I went to my husbands dentist and had my teeth cleaned and he said my teeth looked good and I didnt need anything done. I would not use Mason Modern Dentistry for my dental needs. read more

Dr. Pedram and his team tried to talk me into dental procedures that were not necessary. I have visited the dentist every 6 months since I was a child and I have always had great and healthy teeth. I am new to the area and decided to give Mason Modern Dentistry a try based off the positive reviews. I called prior to my appointment to make sure they took my insurance and that the insurance would cover the check up and cleaning. After spending 2 hours in the office for what I thought was going to be a normal check up and routine cleaning, I finally got up and left after they spent the majority of the time trying to convince me to agree to unnecessary procedures. The doctor told me I had multiple cavities that needed to be filled as well as advanced gingivitis that I needed to have taken care of and that they would need to sedate me for a deep cleaning. What?! I refused. I told them I just wanted a normal cleaning. They refused to provide me with a normal cleaning due to "the condition of my teeth." At this point I am in shock. I never in my life have been told anything negative about my teeth. I've had one cavity filled - ever. I left shaking and angry. They also charged me $95 out of pocket even after assuring me that insurance would cover it all. The following week, I was back home visiting and made an appointment with my regular dentist to get a second opinion. My dentist laughed and said there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG with my teeth. He also told me places like Mason Modern Dentistry are known for insurance fraud and that they try to perform unnecessary procedures in order to make more money. 5 months after my appointment at Mason Modern Dentistry, I received an EOB from my dental insurance. Mason Modern Dentistry had put through claims for things that were never even performed during my visit. They also billed THOUSANDS of dollars for the fancy xrays they did. My insurance only covered a tiny portion of what they were asking for. They then filed the exact same billing with my insurance again 2 weeks later. Another week later, they sent another bill to insurance for additional items they claimed they performed. Overall - I would highly discourage anyone from going to this practice. As a patient, I have high trust and confidence with Dr. Ahmed and the staff at Mason Modern Dentistry. As a shadowing student today, I experienced "behind the scenes." The environment at Mason Modern was meticulous and organized. Communication within the office was consistent and clearly focused on a genuine commitment to patient care. Shout out to Chloe who I shadowed directly (but honestly everyone on staff allowed me to ask questions and "tag" along.) My time at Mason Modern Dentistry reaffirmed I chose a meaningful field. I went there after my wife had an appointment. I needed a crown, and also needed a deep cleaning. I made an appointment and did it all in one session. They have the ability to get your permanent crown made on-site in 10 minutes. They are very modern and do everything they can to make you comfortable. The entire staff is wonderful! Helpful and chipper. The dentist I met, Pedram Shanehsaz, is incredibly gifted and one of the nicest people I've met. I completely recommend making an appointment with them. Horrendous!!! Stay far away from this fraudlulent place. I went in for a broken crown and ended up with my insurance being charged frauduletly. They will tell you that you need gum disease treatment when you don't. I agreed to let them do it and was quoted 380.00 by a dishonest billing girl named Brianna. They ended up charging my insurance over 3000.00 for all kind of things that were never mentioned to me. Crown was 1500.00 plus 388.00 core buildup. My other dentists included core build up with the cost of the crown. If Brianna had told me up front that there would be a 388.00 charge for the core buildup, I would have never agreed to that. I also told them when I made my appointment that I just had my x rays / bitewings done 2 months earlier and they said that they would request them from the other dentist office. The day of the appointment, they said they had just requested them that morning and they haden't arrived yet. But they said to not worry about it because they wouldn't charge me for them, so they took their own x rays. Well of course that was another lie as I was billed over 700.00 for the x rays...that were supposed to be free. Sooo, I went in to talk to Brianna today about my Insurance billing statement, and she was very rude and wouldn't listen to a word that I had to say. Just totally disrespectful. I left shaking and angry. Now I have to get a hold of my insurance co. to appeal these charges and get a hold of the State Attorneys Office to let them know about their fraudulent billing dept. Plus BBB has to know about it too. Besides that the dentist was terrible!!! He would numb my gums for my crown then leave and go and work on another patient as I sat there for 45 minutes, numb and waiting. When he came back the second time, he had to numb me again! Then he went and started working on another patient again. I was pissed and left and let the staff know about it. I left shaking and angry....again. Sound familiar. There is more to this story, but I think you probably have a good idea about what to expect at Mason Modern Denistry. Don't do it people! Ps. When you call a good dentist office that has great reviews and you can't even get an appointment for at least 6 months out or so...that should tell you something. But at MMD you can call and get in in no time at all, because this place has a bad reputation and people aren't coming back. Understandable but the reschedule times they offered were not remotely similar to what I had scheduled and nothing was available for weeks later. Tried to reschedule online myself, showed up for the appointment and they had no record of it. read more
