We attended a birthday party here. The kids had a lot of fun. It was the first time skating and we did rent one of the pvc pipe skate helper/walker things. It gave the kids a lot more confidence in their skating abilities (despite still falling a lot, everything they let go and tried on their own.) Despite falling a lot, they kept trying because there were so many other kids there trying and falling too. They had a beginner skating rink at the end. There were a lot of big kids back there working on tricks or just goofing off, but the younger kids still had plenty of space to practice in the smaller rink instead of being in the main rink. They did glow lights for a little bit, maybe 30 mins, and the kids liked that a lot. We were there for maybe 2 hours, with a mini pizza break. There were not many workers there, so adults or skaters had to police their own chaos on the rinks. The workers alternated between the skate rental booth, the concessions, and the walker rental/prizes area. As the afternoon wore on and it became more crowded, it did get a lot more chaotic and somewhat dangerous for the younger skaters, which is why I have the lower rating. For what it was, it is still worth the visit id you have never been. If you have younger kids, I would suggest coming in earlier. As the afternoon wore on I to the evening, it was a lot more crowded overall and a lot busier with teens and adults. The concessions were fine. Having a birthday party here was also just ok - there was no dedicated party host despite the host asking for one for their party and the kids kind of scattered everywhere. It did give everyone a chance w to hang out and play together or apart. Whichever they wished. There was an all call to come back to the tables for food and cake, so that was nice. It was a good way to get a bunch of kids to try something new, though, so that was a lot of fun. I felt bad, as a parent, needing to rent a walker for my kids and then it going to the tab of the parents. There was not a way to pay for it on my end, unless the worker was misinformed. We would be back to try it some more. read more

I attended my niece's birthday party at your facility as a guest, and I feel compelled to express how disappointing the experience was. The individual assigned as our party host appeared to be extremely young--so young that it was genuinely concerning. Their behavior was rude, dismissive, and entirely unprofessional. Whether this was due to understaffing or lack of proper training, it reflected very poorly on the facility as a whole. My sister spent several hundred dollars for her daughter's birthday celebration, expecting a well-organized and positive experience. Instead, our party was overseen by someone who did not seem mature or qualified enough to be responsible for hosting children's events, let alone interacting with paying customers. Having what appeared to be a literal child working as the party host is not only unprofessional, but it significantly took away from what should have been a special and enjoyable day. This is not the level of service that should accompany the prices you charge. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as better staffing, training, and professionalism are clearly needed. read more

I do enjoy it here. It gives me vibes from 20 years ago. I wish they would redo the old style carpet or clean it better.. they could keep the old style vibes with a little revamp... the skates are pretty old and smelly and it would be nice for them to get new ones. The food is very typical.. but the rink is the rink. The close pretty early on Sunday vs other places. They took away the skate center in the back sadly, they had a ramp back there and I loved seeing everyone enjoy that area. Now it's bare. I do like the place proximity. read more

Skating here used to be fun before 2020, recently it's gone downhill so much. This is a very late review but I went here with a couple of friends for my birthday and they seriously need to put a limit on people for the skating rink, or just who can come in overall. It is overcrowded and the food is not really good, you'd think with so much money from all the people they would have the money to have decent food, no? A lot of kids didn't know how to skate so the place gives them this sort of white cane they can skate around with to help them, but with too many kids falling over with these products and being overcrowded, it's becoming extremely dangerous trying to skate on the rink. I went to Mason Road Skate Center for Saturday night open skate. I paid $24 for my daughter and I, even though the price advertised said $10(?) . I didn't question it because I was just preoccupied. Anyway, open skate includes free skate rental for both of us, and all you can eat pizza. The pizza is.... decent for what you'd expect at a skating rink. It comes in pepperoni or cheese and they serve it on paper, just fyi. You pay additional for drinks or anything else from concessions. Saturday night is mainly local teens and a few kids here and there. If you're a grown a$$ adult who grew up skating on Friday nights in the 1980s, just know that you will feel OLD. =) It's not really a place you want to go to reminisce about the old days with a bunch of girlfriends... unless they're having that type of event going on. I celebrated my 30th birthday there, and they couldn't have been more accommodating. The staff was helpful and did their best to make the party go as smoothly as possible. I'm a sophomore and get bullied by a lil 5th grade girl every Friday I go. The employee tried to charge me 3$ for a little cup of water. One of the employees is trying to start beef with me because I made him fall he has a man bun with orange skates. Some random kid fell and grabbed my balls. little kids are always falling and I trip over them and they always go to their mom crying just because there bad at skating. Every time I go to the restroom their is always people passing it I'm tired of it and sometimes I even share with them so my skating skills improve so if your trying to be good at skating go to the restroom. read more

We went here a few times, and it's always overcrowded. Way more people inside than the staff can handle. It's obviously a family run type of business, which means their kids help out in running the place. They did have a police officer at the entrance, which was nice but the crowd was really out of hand. The staff allows young kids to be dropped off by parents, which allows unsupervised middle school and younger kids to be there until the place closes (10:30pm). Then, when the place closes, these young kids are just waiting outside passed 10:45pm waiting on a ride home. It's almost like a night time daycare with no adult supervision to just skate, bully around, and trash the place. The "little kids" area gets run over by the middle schoolers, and the staff can't handle the amount of kids. They were slinging each other around (kids not on skates and with skates), breaking the walkers by slinging it against the walls and each other. Then, eating and drinking all over the floor causing spills on the rink areas. It was way out of control. One of the kids stole my 5year old's skate walker and rolled around with it so he can do tricks. They would get all the unused walkers and play tag with them. I had to get one of the workers to handle it, it was way too much. The worker was able to tell them to go to the main area, but eventually a few of them would casually come back. The worker was very nice and handled it right away, but it was just obvious he can't do it all by himself. He was working the table for the walkers, cleaning up, monitoring the main skate area, and all but it's just way too many kids that need adult supervision for him to handle. My suggestion to the owners, not allow anyone under 18 be there unsupervised. For every $9 entry for an unsupervised skater that trashes the place you built won't be worth it. They will bring 5 non skaters with them, and you'll be left with holes in your walls, messed up floors, broken walkers, and liability charges. If you allow unsupervised minors, and something happens with no waiver?! Good luck! read more

My daughters are young and loved coming here over the other skating rink we usually go to. It was packed but expected during Christmas break. This place is terrible. I will never go there again. Reasons: 1. It is overcrowded and dirty. Very stressful, no place to put on your skates or relax while you watch your children or need a break. Trash all over the floor. 2. The skates are in terrible condition. The wheels are caked with dirt, so it is very difficult to skate smoothly. I went around two times and couldn't go further because the wheels would barely turn. The laces are broken and mismatched. 3. They charge $1.00 more to rent rollerblades. So when I asked to switch to rollerblades from the 4-wheeled skates, I was told I couldn't until I went back to the front and paid the extra $1.00. REALLY?? This is absolutely ridiculous. 4. We were there for less than 15 minutes when they told everyone to get off the rink and they were going to do a race for a birthday party. 30 minutes later they were still doing it because it was so unorganized. That's 30 minutes of everyone else's time wasted. 5. WAY too many of the walkers (skating aids) on the arena. With that many people already, the walkers took up too much space and made the crowding even worse. read more

We came here for a kids' birthday party and was not impressed. Usually skating rinks have some sort of fun activities like the chicken dance or race, calling out the birthday kid to the center, etc. The venue was a typically rink with a few arcade games and they had a money machine, which was cool for the guest of honor. I did like that they had a back area for beginner skaters. Overall, it was just a skating rink, they didn't seem too friendly, and lack of hype/entertainment. With the very few skating rinks left in the Houston/Katy area, this establishment could benefit from making it extremely fun, hyped up, and having a friendly smile. read more

Well I don't know about my review anymore. Out of no where this miserable male worker pick and chose who to stop from bringing in water bottles not only that. I've been bringing my own water for a while and then he's the only one with a problem, like comn we giving u sales every week, and I have a diff type of water which is why I bring my own. If y'all like a completely boring and empty skating rink this is the one cause they recently caused a group of skaters who come regularly to have to relocate because of the ruckus the same male worker was making. - couple weeks later I bump into him sadly again, and. He seems very discriminating. I walked out the building for something and then tried to get back in when he told me "you have to pay $10 still." I told him I'm not skating so do I have to pay and he said yes and asked if I was 18 which crossed my mind as weird. Also I am not 18 which is why it was weird. Then he questioned my eyebrow which had nothing to do with anything. I also remember asking to purchase a rental skate and waiting at the window for a while while he helped tons of other people and then pretended to be "writing stuff down and counting cash." I didn't even say anything and just left. Some of the family members in the business shouldn't be working there. I didn't pay him a single dime. I went in and used the bathroom and then I took my stuff and left. read more

Great potential. Needed more supervision on skating floor and in beginner area. Advanced and fast skaters would come to back beginner's area making it hard for small beginners to practice. Also, the ramp exiting the beginner area is dangerous. We saw a ton of kids and adults completely wipe out trying to simply exit the beginner area. Party tables are stacked on top of each other making it hard to navigate especially on skates from the front to the back of the rink. Kids had a great time. read more

Used to love this place. Last 3 times I went I saw 2 people leave the rink on stretchers with broken bones and kids skating the wrong direction and sideways while the skate guards/refs did nothing. Two guards playing tag even knocked one girl down hard enough she had to be taken away in a stretcher, There is a practice rink for learners, the problem is it gets little use and staff does not redirect, say, kids having several near-accidents to that rink. Also the rink has become popular/crowded to the point it is hard to go any decent speed, mostly filled with kids who can not skate and don't follow the flow of traffic. Plus the DJ often insists people skate slowly over the intercom. So unless jogging speed counts to you as fun or you are a complete beginner on skates, this may not prove a fun workout. At least during public sessions, this has turned into more of a daycare operation and/or place where parents bringing their kids use it as an excuse to eat "free" pizza than much else. They do have some excellent skating teachers, however, but the trick seems to be avoid public sessions. read more

The management is either unwilling or unable to control their employees and/or their friends. This group of teenagers skate absurdly dangerously around dozens upon dozens of very young children. I personally witnessed one of this core group of teenagers crash and slam the face of a 5 year old girl into the ground. This individual then got up and proceeded to laugh (I understand that sounds hard to even picture) rather than to show any concern or offer help. I confronted this individual and was immediately swarmed by several of his buddies in his defense. "I was pushed" was the answer. Next I spoke with the manager (I assumed) who was with the only other adult busy collecting the money at the entrance. He came out and even spoke with some of the teens who promptly ignored him and went directly back to skating dangerously around all the young children. The adult seemed helpless. Even the referee shirted employees were contributing to the dangerous skating and were no help. Strange these teens would want to spend their time here clearly showing off for all the young kids. Sad. I recommend going to find a nice parking lot where you aren't endangering little girls and everyone else on the floor. I foresee a lawsuit in this rink's future, and I assure you, those "skate at your own risk" signs aren't going to help when it's the employees fostering the dangerous environment. read more

I took my daughter to a friend's birthday party at Mason Road Skate Center. It was a line to get in but it didn't bother me much because it was a Saturday and it was expected. Once inside, there was ample seating available for her to sit down and change into her roller skate. They charge an additional $5 if you need Skate walker which she definitely needed. I didn't mind paying for it, i was just relieved they had one available for her because I've been to skating rinks in the past that ran out and she did not have an enjoyable time because of it. The kids had a special birthday table where the staff served pizza, drinks and they brought their own birthday cake. Everything was orderly, seamless. Even though it was a little crowded, we were comfortable and my daughter had a great time. One thing I did notice that struck me as kind of odd was when the birthday child gets in the Money box to catch money, there were about ten one dollar bills inside only. In order to catch any kind of money in a windy box, it needs to be a little more money flying around. I thought that was a little cheesy. Kids were coming out with maybe 4 or 5 dollar if that. In my opinion that birthday feature perk is not worth it. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely return. read more

Imagine your typical suburban skating rink and this is it. You have your basic low budget warehouse turned into a skating rink, place to check in, rent out stinky barely usable roller skates, standard bowling alley pizza and snacks, etc. The kids have fun for birthday parties and I actually had fun too, but the floor is very uneven and that goes true for the finish too so for someone like myself who can only go forward and barely turn, it's easy to fall. On a personal note, I'm glad my nephews and nieces are getting older so I don't have to go to Chuck E Cheese. Also, I think a lot of people refer to this as the Katy Skating Rink too (at least that's what I used in google maps). For some reason the main entrance is on the side street instead of on Kingsland Blvd. read more

Before the pandemic this was my favorite skating rink. My family and I went here yesterday and that will be our last visit. For starters, the music selection is horrible! Who plays country at a skating rink?! That alone would make me never come back but wait... there is more. The actual floor of the skating rink is so warped and dirty. As a person who has been skating for over 30 years, I've never been on such a damaged skating rink. It was almost impossible to skate on. We were going to do a birthday party here and I thank God we came first to check it out. So disappointed in this place. Everything was dirty and unkept. There was very little staff supervision. Many of the younger skaters were going the wrong way and not one staff member said anything about it. People were sitting on the skating rink floor just hanging out and in the way. My family loves to skate but we were ready to go within an hour of being there. I use to tell all my friends about how much I loved this rink, now I'll be sure to tell them what happened to it. Zzzzzz! That's me falling asleep! Convenient if you live close by and don't want to drive to a better rink. However be prepared to bring your own music & headphones because you will literally fall asleep to the music that they're playing (ie. Jessie's Girl). What a snooze fest! All music is slow and boring as hell. Its so bad that its almost laughable! I asked if they even had a DJ and they do but unfortunately the young DJ cannot actually control the music played. How ridiculous and such a waste! To make matters worst, the floor is extremely lumpy as well as slippery. Someone can really get hurt on this floor. Don't waste your time here when there are other rinks that are so much more fun and better managed. The 1-Star is because the bathrooms were very clean. If there was any way to rate this place 0 stars I would, 1 star is far too high. This rink has one of the worst floors I've ever seen in my entire career. The floor consists of bumps throughout the entire floor because instead of taking care of the leaks from when it rains they let it drip onto the floor. It is also extremely slippery from not being taken care of and it is covered in dust. If you fall on that floor your entire shirt and pants will be covered in dust because they don't clean the floor. There's countless of chips and holes in the floor as well and these could easily affect any skater. The most popular stops "hockey stop" and "power slide" have been banned and if management hears anyone doing these stops they will kick them out immediately. Even if it was accidentally. There's trash everywhere, on the rink floor, on tables, on the floor, and on counters. And for the snack bar it's okay except for the fact that they house rats behind the counter. Those snack bar ladies do not know what they are doing unfortunately. I've had one girl in particular give me attitude when ordering. Staff and management are also extremely racist and terrible. The owner only cares about her money and doesn't care about the well being of her workers and her customers. And let's not forget about the music selection. The playlist consists of country music and slow music. Nothing upbeat and nothing you'd expect to hear at a skating rink. The employees get yelled at for playing better music. Overall this is the worst rink I have ever had the punishment of experiencing. If anyone told me they were going to Mason, I would tell them to take the extra 30 minutes and just drive to a better rink such as Dairy Ashford or Bear Creek. They at least know how to treat their customers and take care of a rink. Never coming here again. read more

Apparently the staff as well as the kids or teens that attend the rink are claiming it's "their rink and my daughter and her friends are not welcome and they need to go back to their rink"! Like what is this the goddamn 60s. What is this Roll Bounce?!?! I don't see Bow Wow anywhere.
