In operation for 75 years, it reminded me of an A&W back home in Michigan. I had the Coney Foot Long with a Root Beer Float. We sat outside on picnic style tables with sun umbrellas. We pulled in to an empty parking lot with two girls taking our orders directly from each customer's car. The parking lot filled rapidly, so our timing was perfect. Stopped on our way to tour Indiana Bloomington campus. First, service was impeccable!! Seriously, haven't had so much nice friendly service post-Covid era. Wish I had gotten our carhops name...she saw us drive up, walked over, chatted with us, made suggestions on what's good (when we asked-word to the wise, skip the Cole slaw and iced tea-iykyk) plus, why wouldn't you order the root beer anyways? It's what they're named after, after all....But I digress.. Food was what you'd expect. Good enough to fill us up for a late morning snack or for a quick lunch. Root beer was super yummy! If you're the owner - please have more of a social media presence and let people that are driving 1+ hours to patronize your establishment know that you're closing 4+ hours early. This is the second time we've called to verify you're open only to find out you've closed early after driving a great distance. We will have a difficult time planning a trip down there in the future because of these disappointing experiences. We used to go several times a year. read more

An incredible find in beautiful Washington! You don't often find a hometown root beer spot with homemade conies and frosted root beer. I really loved Mason's! I am in town for the weekend for a meeting, and was searching for a local place to eat dinner. Mason's "Frosted Mug" sign won me over - I had to have one! As I was pulling in I saw that they had coney dogs as well. Awesome. The frosted mug root beer was awesome, the coney dogs were great, and the mozzerella sticks were perfect. Well l, hadn't been to masons for a long time so decided to give it a try this evening. Well known for their foot long coneys. What an unpleasant surprise when I ordered one and it was not good at all. I would ask where's the coney sauce, because there was very little barely smeared on it, but I really am glad that there wasn't much because it sure don't taste like it used to. I can tell you hands down I make better coney sauce than they do. I don't know what has happened to it, but somewhere along the line they have lost their ability to cook good coneys. I was very disappointed especially since I bought 3 of them for myself and the others in the car at the price tag of $3.99 plus tax each. What a waste of money for something that just tasted like tomato paste mixed with a few sprinkles of ground beef. Well I will officially mark you off the list of places we will eat. The hotdog itself was just a standard no casing hotdog, and the coney sauce was reminiscent of a basic sloppy joe recipe. The bun was soft and tasty.It didn't come with cheese, onion, or mustard. The toppings weren't offered; otherwise, I would've requested it. The onion rings were just fine, not made fresh, but reliable. The root beer, advertised as homemade, was pretty good.
