The expanded bar area makes a huge difference, giving it more room to hang out comfortably whether you're grabbing a quick drink or staying awhile. One of my favorite features is their private room--it's perfect for a small party or get-together without feeling disconnected from the rest of the energy in the bar. And the food... don't skip the kettle chips with horseradish sauce. Seriously. They're a must-order every time--crispy, flavorful, and that sauce has just the right kick. I make it a point to stop in every time I'm back in town, and it never disappoints. Consistently great, every single visit.

I ordered the hand cut and marinated pork sandwich breaded. House made chips and dip with coleslaw. Service has been great and a friendly atmosphere and a lot of local sports teams featured on the walls. Tenderloin review: the tender wine is really good very tender and well seasoned and perfectly breaded, not too much breading and served on a toasted bun. The homemade chip dip is wonderful as a can of horseradish in it. As well the chips ate teally good, could use a bit of seasoning salt but overall good taste. Only service glitch was I had to ask for drink refills and condiments I asked for when I placed my order. Lots of Jackie Young pictures and artifacts, she played basketball here and went on to Norte Dame to play as well.

Experience: no frills dining room simple and clean with a bunch of high schoolers working lunch in the summer. Service was fine. Food: I ordered their flagship cod sandwich. Very good, but perhaps a little small. Maybe a 3-4oz portion of cod, country breaded- lightly seasoned cornmeal and pepper breading. Fish was served hot and fresh, quality of the fish was good, and it wasn't over cooked. Served in a fresh bun. I chose pickles and onions - and the pickles were better than average. Seeing the other sandwiches come out I may have just gotten a smaller one than average. I also got clam strips because it's a dish I rarely see or eat and it reminded me of going out to dinner with my grandpa. And they were just what I remembered. Not particularly amazing, but certainly nostalgic. The menu here is big but it seems like they cater to their small town as one of the few restaurant options. The locals all seem to order fish or a burger. I'd come back!

The big…read moreC has been pretty hard on small locally owned businesses like this one and due to multiple price increases in products they have had to raise their prices as well to compensate. Still definitely worth your while to drop in if you are ever in the small town of Montgomery. They do carry out and have a drive thru window and recently have opened the dining room once again. They run daily specials so give their Facebook page a like and follow to keep up on those! They have a nice little private parking lot and are located just off the highway so it's very easy to get to. I called ahead to place my order and it was ready when I got there. They have a small dining area with a few booths where you can dine in or if the weather is nice they have several picnic tables outside for you to enjoy your meal. They offer anything from the famous fish sandwich to burgers, wraps, salads and soups. They also recently started serving breakfast again! Breakfast is offered on Friday and Saturday mornings and their breakfast selections are great! Today I ended up with the special of broccoli cheese soup and grilled cheese and my daughter said it was delicious. Also got the cod sandwich and her friend said the fish was flaky and fried just right. They both wanted sweet tea and really it's hard to mess up sweet tea! So it was pretty great as well. They offer different homemade desserts daily and their homemade potato salad is to die for! If you're planning a picnic or dinner with friends and family and are doing a picnic theme call in and order some by the gallon. You won't be disappointed! As with everything lately prices are going up and theirs have too but for the food you get the price is certainly worth it not to mention supporting small local businesses.
