Unfortunately, my most recent visit was pretty disappointing. My appointment was booked from 6:45-7:45 PM. I did arrive late around 7:03PM (as listed on my Google Maps history), so I completely understood that I might lose some treatment time because of that. However, the session ended at around 7:30 PM because I was told there was another appointment afterward. Cutting me off 15 mins of time. What confused me was that when I went to the front desk afterward, they told me her next appointment actually wasn't until 8PM, and later explained there had been a mistake with the scheduling/timing on acupuncturist' end. I understand mistakes happen, but I was still billed for the full hour appointment before I even came out, and no solution was offered other than being told to email the owner myself. It was frustrating because while I tried to be understanding about arriving late, it didn't feel like the issue was handled appropriately once it became clear the scheduling mistake was on their end as well. The appointment was good overall, I like that she also did a bit of massage while doing acupuncture. Though the cupping was a bit pinchy on my skin and maybe some oil application would be better as she was sliding it around like gwa sha. Just as I was relaxing into it, it got cut off sooner. The language barrier made it tough for her to explain conditions, so better if you can understand and can communicate with her in mandarin. Though not a big deal. I'll still consider coming back if they offer a resolution. Just sharing my experience so others are aware. They shouldn't have billed the customer already before they come out of their session. At that point the front desk couldn't do refunds or provide a solution. **Update owner called me directly after and offered 30 mins session for the mistake so I appreciate it. Will revisit when I have a chance.

I always book the couples…read moremassage and the first two times I went it was very relaxing, but this third time was what convinced me to write a review for one particular masseuse in general because I'm not sure what type of witchcraft TCM practice she used on me but I feel my entire back is back in alignment, my blood flow is back, and my (tmi) bowels are back in working order. Bear in mind with Real Chinese massages, there is supposed to be pain. My body during the process was under so. mUCH. PAIN. I was wailing a lot and the secondary masseuse who was working on my partner was concerned but my masseuse responded with "don't worry I know what I'm doing" and continued the excruciating pain. I did not know this kind of massage was what I needed at the time because although I asked for full body, the first two times i had gotten only back and arm massages... but this one? Oh she absolutely knew what she was doing and did not cut corners. I will warn you thát if you do not have high pain tolerance, you aren't ready for this kind of massage. And even though I was in so much pain, she reassured thát the pain will only be for today and tomorrow there will be less pain. I don't know how she knew I was sitting on my ass at my desk a lot or knew that I was lacking sleep, but I really felt taken care of. They say if you have a lot of pain during the massage it means that there's something wrong with your body. I definitely believe it now. I left feeling like a tenderized chicken. I'm not sure if you can ask them to put something on, but I prefer to read my book anyways. My massage therapist was great even if we didn't communicate all that much (she spoke Mandarin and I don't!). The body massage is the Tuina style, and it was ok but I prefer Swedish massage with oil, which is just a personal preference. I chose this place because of their sauna, but I was kind of disappointed. It is really small and it is crammed into the unisex locker room which is also the only place there is a customer washroom. So you have to get changed in the washroom (otherwise the door is open and people are passing by, so not exactly private!) and there is no lounge area to sit before/after the sauna (for instance if you want to do a few rounds). The sauna itself is a bit hazardous, a few slats of the wood are collapsing and there are metal nails!! I have been to a ton of saunas but have never encountered this, as it makes no sense because the nails get super HOT!! It's not like there are a ton of them and you can just sit carefully to ensure you don't touch them, but still, this seems like very poor design. The location is convenient, in a plaza near many bubble tea, dessert places and Asian restaurants. I would go back for foot reflexology but I would go elsewhere if I want to use a sauna.

Reception is always friendly and I appreciate that she always reminds me to book my next appointment because she knows my favorite therapist gets booked up quickly. They always ask you how you are feeling afterwards and I always feel very welcome and comfortable here. I had sprained my lat at the gym and was prescribed anti-inflammatory medication by my doctor. By the third week I was still experiencing pain and stiffness, needless to say I was fed up. I decided to go to a sports injury therapist and found Matvey Kipershtein at YMT. After one session with him I was free of my pain. The next day I no longer had the pain or stiffness and within a couple days I was back at the gym. Matvey is skilled, knowledgeable and honest. He knows his stuff and will answer any questions you have. There was never any pressure for follow up appointments and during my appointment there was never any feelings of a time constraint (as stated in the three star review).
