I badly needed a massage after so many months of working from home. I did have some of the bad experience that previous reviewers shared, but this place is close to where I live, and the bad experiences and reviews were a bit outdated, so I gave this place another try. First thing I noticed was that the prices were higher than what I paid previously and higher than the photos. I paid $60 for an hour. Tina was the person that took me to the room and did the massage. There appeared to be another lady working. I probed Tina's license and certification status, and those met my expectations. Tina also told me that there was an ownership change about a year ago, she told me that how they had to thoroughly clean the mold-infested place and changed the linens/towels. I asked for a strong/firm massage, that was precisely what I got. The music appeared to be repeating itself, but that was not why I was there. I truly enjoyed the massage. Tina had face mask on all the time, so I am not sure if I'd recognize her the next time I come here. Overall, I got what I paid for, a great massage, and my back/shoulder fine tuned. The absolute worst massage experience of my LIFE! Horrible! Just horrible..I'd give zero stars if I could.. I'm usually not one to write a bad Yelp review, but this place surely deserves it, and others should be warned.. 1. For one, they were EXTREMELY unprofessional from the moment I walked through the door. She was very brash and didn't smile or ask,"How may I help you?", etc..She was walking up and down the hall on a cordless phone. 2. The English was so poor that I had a very hard time communicating with her. She asked me to pay BEFORE my massage (and asked for cash)..?!?! Who does that?? 3. She didn't give me privacy to change out of my clothes-very unprofessional! 4. The music came from cheap, crackling speakers out in the hall and was WAY too loud! 5. The massage itself was just awful, she was pushing and doing compressions on me mostly and was too close to/on my spine a couple times and it was very painful and made me jerk a couple times-not relaxing or enjoyable even for a minute! Entirely uncomfortable and rough. I can assure you she's not a trained massage practitioner. 6. She kept leaving the treatment room in the middle of my massage to go talk to people that had walked in "the clinic" during my treatment and would literally slam the door on her way in and out! Finally after the 3rd time she left the treatment room to go talk to people upfront, I got up and started getting dressed because I didn't think I could go on as it was just such a horrible experience; and then she came back in and said "What's wrong with you lady?" "I no finish!"-and INSISTED she finish even though I politely said "no thank you" numerous times . It was just horrible! I couldn't wait to get the hell out of there! As a day spa owner myself just looking to treat myself to a half way decent massage to help my stress and neck/back pain, I was more than disappointed. The massage was fine. Pretty good, actually. Yes, it's not a luxury spa: if you're looking for scented candles, fine oils, a soft bed with covers, and pan flute rainforest sounds in your ear, keep on driving. The rooms are private but have beveled glass in the door. It's not like anyone on the street, or even the small waiting area, can see you: the doors lead to a dim hallway. You are given a small towel to cover yourself, and it's not kept on your nether regions for very long. I'm past my modest days, but maybe in my younger, pre-child bearing days it might have bothered me. Besides, I kept my dainties on. The masseuse was good, receptive to changes in pressure, and was able to get at those pesky knots that have become normal for me. The prices were fair ($45 for a 60-minute massage, $70 for a 90-minute). So why only 1 star?? The awkwardness. No, not the being-naked-in-a-room-with-a-glass-door awkwardness. That was nothing compared to tip time. Let me explain: They ask for payment up front. Unorthodox, but okay. I asked for a 90-minute massage, which is $70. I opened my wallet to (I had assumed privately) check my cash situation, and the two ladies at the counter had counted my cash before I even saw the bottom bill. I had $71. Before I could say anything, one of them said, "That's a $10! That's good, you have $70." I said, "I won't have money to tip, should I pay with a card?" They asked me to pay cash for the massage, then I could put a tip on my card. Fine. So fast forward to the end of my massage. I go to the counter where the ladies were waiting for me to pull out my wallet. I handed one my card, and realized it's that awkward situation where you have to tell them how much you're tipping, rather than just writing it on the receipt. She asked how much I wanted to tip. I happily said, "$15," thinking I was being nice. That's 20% plus an extra dollar to cover the use of the credit card. I thought that was very fair. Instead she looked at me with a pained look and said, "No- $20." It caught me off guard. Did I suddenly forget math? Was there a new rule that you should tip 29% for a massage? With both ladies looking at me, I had no choice but to stall for a moment and say, "Uhh...ok. That's fine." And then she took my card and said it's an extra dollar for using my card. So I just paid a 30% tip on a massage. An ok, pretty good massage. Awkward. If you want more money, try increasing the amount of the massage. I think I'll try going somewhere where I can choose how much to tip myself and not be pressured into what they WANT me to tip. read more

I went back and thought to myself, "Self...why not give them another try..." IT WAS HORRIBLE!!!! My skin was on fire from the lady furiously rubbing it! (What did my poor skin ever do to her). It was still as awkward as the first time, half exposed for the whole world to see. After 15 minutes I had to stop the lady because it hurt so bad. To The Guy Who Likes Exposing Himself: I don't get Panzy Swedish massages. I like deep tissue massages. This lady was not rubbing my muscles, she was rubbing my skin causing so much friction it was painful. My muscles never felt what she was doing. Having clear windows means you're exposing yourself to the world (or anyone else in the place...) NOT just exposing yourself to the massage therapist. Being "comfortable" in your own skin and exposing yourself to the public should never be apart of any massage. If you want a good (and inexpensive) Asian massage, down the street on Sunrise is the Happy Day Spa. They actually get really deep into sore beat up muscles, no Indian burns required. read more

Coming here to get a massage while waiting to get my car repaired nearby was one of my best ideas ever. It is in a odd location, at least for me, but this place just so happened to be within walking distance from the car repair shop I took my car to. Is there a better way to wait for your car to be done and to forget about your upcoming bill than to get a massage? I don't think so... The price is reasonable: I got a Foot massage, price $25.-- per hour. It is a bit higher priced than my favorite place on Stockton Blvd, but it was so perfect for me at this point in time. My experience was a mix of all the previous reviews. Let me tell what this place is NOT. This is not the Hilton. This is not a spa with a water fountain and hot tub. Complimentary robes and tea are NOT handed out. Check your fancy self at the door and recognize that you're at a modest business with hard working people trying to make a living. Walked in with no appointment, chose a package, paid, got a room. Done. That being said lay back and enjoy your affordable massage with your eyes closed. Imagine yourself in whatever place you want and pretend you spent triple the amount. Go ahead, use your imagination. ***rant alert*** When you're done and you are tipping don't be surprised they want more than what you want to give. That's what all of us do everyday at work, we ask for more. Life lesson here, Stay hungry folks. You want to pay 10%, go ahead. You want to pay 20%, go ahead. Do so with confidence as this is when the real negotiation happens. This can make the faint of heart fold to give more because you're feeling good from the massage. Hold strong to your convictions. But remember if you plan to come back they will remember you and like a good bartender you treat good tippers like family. Don't be mad. How else do we get what we want if you dont ask for it. BTW our society is built on this tipping culture and if you don't like it lets make it illegal. This is one of the worst massages I've ever had. Be advised if paying with debit or credit card there is a $1.00 fee. After explaining in detail where the pain was she proceeded to concentrate everywhere EXCEPT where I told her. She acted as if she was in a hurry even though I paid (in advance) for an hour. I told her I wanted a strong massage but all I got was a weak one even after asking her to increase the pressure it was medium at best. The massage ended 5 minutes early. I offered $5 tip but she said "I do strong for you...$10." As other reviewers have said if you're uncomfortable being completely naked (which I am not)this isn't the place for you. After reading the reviews on here, I was pretty nervous. But it was close to home and the price was right. My friend and I called the same day and we both got an appointment that same day. Going in, it was decent. We were about 15 mins early. The man didn't speak much English and didn't know we had an appointment but it was quickly cleared up with the lady. The door to the room did have a glass window but I didn't mind... I don't think they are going to watch me unchange, plus it is dark in the room. I had a male, my friend had the female. I had a great massage, very happy with it. He concreted on all my super tense areas. She said the lady did a good job on her too. I finished like 2 mins before my friend so I tipped him and waited. She came out a few mins later and tipped her lady and she wanted the same amount as the guy got as a tip. This is a little weird to me, but she gave the few extra dollars to match my tip that I gave him. She thanked us and asked us to come back again soon. Overall, the massage itself was wonderful. Awful massage. I don't think she's even licensed. Rubbed my skin raw, chomped on her gum while snaking her lips, kept burping loading, sat in a very noisy chair while massaging me, gave me a hand towel to cover my body, has big huge windows in the doors so everyone can see your naked body, another lady kept walking in room talking to my massage lady, I could go on and on. Very good massage at a reasonable price. The therapist who's seen me twice is Amy and she's very easy to talk to. To me this is important as I really need to be comfortable when getting a massage. She also listens when you tell her what parts need the most attention and if she needs to be harder or gentler. I have been to this place a few times and always leave very satisfied. They are very professional and will accommodate your likes from a soft touch to a very firm massage. I like a medium to hard massage and always feel very good after wards. They use GENEROUS amounts of oil and lotion which makes it very unlikely to have any skin problems. As with any massage therapist a little communication goes a long way. I don't mean try to tell them how to do there job, but if something is not working let them know and they will adjust. Would definitely come back. Great massage by Anna, and you can't beat the price even with the $1 charge to use credit card. She paid extra attention to a sore neck and shoulder I had. I like hard pressure and she was able to keep that hard pressure for the full massage. She would ask several times if the pressure was good and was extremely intuitive to my needs. Love the Chinese massage method of getting knots out and relieving sore muscles. Overall, really great experience! One quick note: they ask you to pre-pay, which I have never done for a massage. I insisted on paying later, and she let me do that. There was also a $1 credit card transaction fee, which I found odd, since the cost of the massage and tip was $55, well over most people's minimum charge amount. But that aside... Julie was fantastic. She did a NUMBER on my jacked-up shoulders and was very calming. She had great strength, but always took her time with eac htechnique. The room was dim, there was soft music playing, and she gave me plenty of time to undress and get settled. She even went over a few minutes since she had to greet a few walk-ins (the other receptionist wasn't being consistent) during our session. The prices listed at the front are: 60 min: $45, 60 foot massage: $28. there's also a price for a 30 minute and I believe a 90 minute massage, but the prices totally just slipped my mind. False advertising. They advertise a $15, one hour foot/leg massage. But won't book you for that particular massage without making a bunch of excuses. They try to get you to do the full body massage for more money instead. I have had 2 massages there, one of each. The first thing out of the ladies mouth that greeted me was to make sure I paid upfront beforehand and boldly told me I had to leave a tip. I thought it was super rude and comical at the same time. The massages were great, but difficult communication process as they don't speak much English so i couldn't explain certain areas of my body i preferred to have worked on, etc. Poor business practices but good massages and can't beat the prices. I went in a couple months ago, so this review is late. The full body massage was only $40 PLUS A tip at that time. I haven't been back because they wouldn't book my friend and I for foot massages and tried to make us do full body massages instead. Oh! And lastly, David was my massage therapist. So I thought after 4 days of migraines I needed a massage. I thought I would give this place a try as I drive by there everyday. I have never had such a bad and uncomfortable massage in my life!!! She rubbed my skin so hard and fast that I left in worse shape than I went in. She rubbd my skin so fast I have bruises and she kept strumming my tight muscles like she was playing a guitar. The worst part is I was completely exposed for a whole hour and felt like I paid $50 for a full blown molestation. I felt violated and today I feel worse than I did when I went in. Go somewhere else!! The massage was awful! Used her elbows 80% of the time. Too soft of a touch when she did use her hands. She couldn't understand anything I said. They asked for payment and a tip up front with a $1 credit card service charge. I told her that I tip for services rendered but that I would not pay a service fee twice to tip after the fact. They argued in their language about how to handle it. One lady said, she's been here before "honor system." The other lady snatched my card from the other one and slid it anyways. On my way out the lady yelled "hey, no tip?!" Aside from being rude with awful service, she couldn't understand my reasoning. All she wanted was my money! They claim to take drop-ins, but didn't the day I went. So I made an appointment for the next day and specifically asked for a female masseuse. The lady that I was talking to said 'Ok". When arrived for my appointment, and reiterated that I wanted a female masseuse, she said "ok" again but then the male masseuse started preparing to give me a massage. I told him, no I asked for a female masseuse and made an appointment. I want a female masseuse. I was told that I would have to wait 45 minutes for the female masseuse because she was busy with another person. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT. Nonetheless, I waited. When she finally worked on me, she did the WORST JOB EVER of giving me a foot massage. She made a point of rubbing HARD on my varicose vein Again And Again And Again until I told her to rub somewhere else. She barely did anything else and then she was back on the varicose vein. SHE EVEN POUNDED ON IT UNTIL I SCREAMED AT HER TO STOP IT. She is the most vicious completely unprofessional excuse for a masseuse I ever even heard of. Massage "Angel" WHAT A LIE!!! If I could give this place 0 stars I would. You have to pay in advance and the lady at the front counter told me that I needed to give a $10 tip...in advance!! I told her I wasn't going to tip until I knew what the massage was like. About 20 minutes into the massage that same lady barged in the room and started yelling at the gentleman who was massaging me!! I told her she needed to get out of the room and shut the door. Ten minutes later another lady walked in and started talking to the man giving me the massage. At that point I was completely FED UP!!! I got dressed and told them I wanted a refund.
