The booking process was super easy online, and we were able to get a same-day appointment, which was a huge plus. We booked a 60-minute couples full-body massage for my mom and me, and it was $120 total. It also included complimentary hot stones and back walking, which made the experience even better. Our massage therapists, Judy and May, were amazing. They were so kind, attentive, and clearly experienced. We left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. My mom enjoyed it so much that she's already saying she wants to come back and see them again the next time she visits me here in Rancho Cordova. I am extremely disappointed by what happened during today's visit, especially because my boyfriend and I have been regular customers here and have always enjoyed our previous experiences. We have received excellent service from Mei and several other therapists, so we chose to return on our shared day off for what we expected would be a relaxing visit. My boyfriend was assigned to Mei, while I was assigned to a therapist named QUEEN/QUIN. I am unsure of the exact spelling of her name. I had specifically booked and confirmed a 90-minute deep-tissue massage. However, the massage I received was extremely light and consisted mostly of applying and spreading a large amount of body oil. It did not feel like a deep-tissue massage. I politely asked QUEEN/QUIN multiple times to use more pressure. Each time, she increased the pressure for only a few minutes before returning to the same very light technique. She also repeatedly left or moved away from the table without explaining what she was doing, attempted to speak with Mei while Mei was focused on my boyfriend, and left me unattended at different points during the service. QUEEN/QUIN also used hot stones without first warning me that she was placing them on my body or asking whether the temperature was comfortable. At one point, a stone slipped from my back onto the table, and she did not appear concerned. When she worked on my legs, she primarily moved one of the stones lightly over them rather than providing the deep-tissue massage I had requested. After approximately 60 minutes, I asked to end the session early because the massage was not providing the pressure or muscle relief I had requested. Instead of responding professionally or trying to resolve the misunderstanding, QUEEN/QUIN immediately became defensive. She raised her voice and repeatedly blamed me for not requesting a "deep, deep, deep" tissue massage, even though I had booked a deep-tissue massage and had already asked several times for stronger pressure. What disturbed me most was what happened next. While placing a hot towel on my back, she forcefully pressed or poked her index finger into my back several times while emphasizing the word "deep." I felt overwhelmed and extremely uncomfortable. Regardless of any disagreement about massage pressure, there was no reason for a therapist to respond physically or speak to a customer in such an aggressive and accusatory manner. QUEEN/QUIN then abruptly gathered her belongings, left the room, and provided no explanation about whether the service was over or what I was expected to do next. I was left partially undressed and confused until the manager eventually came into the room and asked what had happened. The manager offered an additional 30-minute massage with Mei, but after the interaction we had just experienced, I was no longer comfortable continuing. We declined and decided to leave. We were still charged $60 for my shortened massage and $70 for my boyfriend's massage. I was told that the deep-tissue price would normally have been $70, but mine was reduced to $60 because of the issue. I sincerely appreciate Mei and the manager for apologizing and attempting to resolve the situation. I felt bad that they were apologizing for conduct that was not their fault. Unfortunately, QUEEN/QUIN did not initially come out to speak with us. When she eventually did, she continued to say that I had not properly explained what I wanted and responded with an indifferent "it is what it is" attitude. When I pointed out that she still had not apologized, she gave what felt like a sarcastic "Okay, sorry" with a smile and walked away. My complaint is specifically about QUEEN/QUIN and not the business as a whole. We have had positive experiences with Mei, the manager, and other employees, and I recognize that they tried to help. However, QUEEN/QUIN's service, physical conduct, defensiveness, and dismissive response were completely unacceptable. A therapist should be able to respond professionally when a customer requests a pressure adjustment or expresses dissatisfaction. Blaming the customer, aggressively poking the customer's back, abruptly leaving the room, and offering a sarcastic apology can seriously damage the customer trust that the manager and other therapists have worked hard to build. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend requesting another therapist and avoiding an appointment with QUEEN/QUIN. I regret having to leave this review because I have previously enjoyed coming here, but today's experience left me feeling disrespected, uncomfortable, and deeply disappointed. read more

Then, the masseuse finally told me what to do when she went to the room. I just wanted clear communication that's all even if it's broken English, I'd understand. My wife and I got a 60 minute couples massage and it was literally the best massage I've ever had. I have a pinched nerve and she worked out the muscles around it so good that I finally felt pain free. I've been telling my wife that I need to find a place that will actually beat the shit out of me (in a good way) because I needed serious work and I finally found that place. Every other place I've gone has been too gentle, like they're afraid to work out the big knots, but not here. She found and targeted all my big knots and I finally got relief. A no frills place with an amazing massage therapist and a crazy good price totally met and exceeded my expectations regarding the actual service of full body massage. Judy provided the service, she's cheerful though i was initially confused about the combo massage (which starts with a separate foot massage and then moves to full body but what I wanted was the full body with some extra focus on legs/feet). We clarified and I got a fantastic massage for a ridiculously good price. FYI - plenty of parking but the door to enter the place faces McGregor street. The massage table was a little different than what I was used to, with a face cradle integrated into the table and a paper towel type thing for the face cradle but it was totally fine. read more

Great massage technique! I have had back issues for years but on the particular day that I decided to try Olive Massage I was in really bad shape! I walked in hunched over, unable to stand up straight or walk correctly, with every step sending an electric nerve pulse through my left leg and lower back. It's a small place with only 2 massage rooms and when I walked in they were both occupied, so I had a little bit of a wait which I can only blame myself for. Unfortunately they have no receptionist, and both of the ladies popped their heads out of the rooms when I walked in. I felt bad that I had interrupted the massages of the other guests, because I always hate it when that happens to me. I will know next time to call ahead and make an appointment. Since I had some time on my hands, I decided to consider some of the optional massage add ons from their menu choices. I was in so much pain that I was willing to try anything to make it better, and ended up choosing to give cupping a try for the first time which was only an additional $10. I was admittedly a little anxious about cupping, not knowing what it would feel like or if it would do more harm than good. The massage began and after about a 15 minute warm-up it was time for the cups. I explained to my therapist where I was having the pain. Unfortunately her English was a little limited so I was again a little concerned about how things would go with the cupping, but she already knew where the issues were and skillfully placed the cups right where they needed to go. It was a little painful at first, kind of like a slow pinch or a needle prick, but I settled into it and tried to relax as best as I could. Once the cups were placed, she continued to massage the non-cupped areas for about 10-15 minutes until it was time to remove the cups. Beyond the bruising like what I have seen on some athletes, I was expecting the cupped areas to be tender to touch after the cups were removed, but as the massage continued I realized that there was no tenderness at all. I only found that there was additional pain relief as she massaged over the areas that had just been cupped. When it was all over, I was able to walk out standing tall with a normal gait and no pain at all as I was thinking to myself that this lady must be an actual magician!! I would usually not return to a place where massages were being interrupted due to a lacking receptionist, but I felt so good afterwards that I don't care in this case and I will definitely be back!! read more
