I had a heavenly experience today with Angela - an extremely knowledgeable professional. She is a favorite at Massage Crystal, and I now know why. This was my second visit - and I knew I would return from the moment I walked in, the first time. I enjoyed the 60 minute session on that visit two weeks ago. I felt like I was walking on clouds when I walked out! That's my litmus test of a truly life-changing spa experience! The staff is personable, courteous and helpful - which does so much to enhance the upscale, calm and serene ambiance. And the prices are very reasonable - I have paid more elsewhere, for far less quality! Today, (5/24), I had the 90-minute session with medicated oil and hot stones add-on. Outstanding! I am a deep tissue massage client. Angela not only asked me about my areas of need, she also guided me through the process, step by step as she kneaded my joints, muscles, tendons, and performed firm, but gentle range of motion tests. Her assessment included tips on how to remedy/alleviate the tension in those areas. However, there was minimal talking, only when necessary. The soft music and dimmed lights were perfect for maximum relaxation. I could go on and on singing the praises of Massage Crystal and team! I have added these visits to my wellness regimen - and am taking Angela's advice! I highly recommend this spa for their top tier treatment, sleek and modern furnishings, calm environment, exceptional massage therapists and staff. I regularly get professional massages, and my massage with Misa was one of the best I've ever had. I took my parents here as a Christmas gift and we all had massages at the same time. All three of us had strong masseuses who gave very good deep tissue massage. If you are new to massage, you might want to choose a lighter massage option as the pressure can be very intense and sometimes painful if you're not used to it. Misa was quiet during the massage which I appreciated, and she did check in twice about the pressure. She use hot towels to clean off the oil used for a massage after which I appreciated. They also set a timer for the massage so that you know you're getting your full time. This is a new massage parlor, opened about six months ago. The inside is absolutely gorgeous. Everything is spotless and the rooms are decorated impeccably. The bathroom was large and clean. They even provide free beverages. Prices were very reasonable at $75 for a one hour massage. You can purchase gift cards, but must do so in person. It would be nice if they made an online option. It was easy to book appointments, and they were flexible about changing to individual rooms versus a couples room. You can even have three people in a room, apparently. Nice and new massage place next to the Citibank with parking upfront. Beautiful decor and feels high-end with lots of massage rooms with some more ornate than others. The prices are affordable - only $75 for 60 mins (optional oil & hot stone add in for $15). Ambiance vs value 5/5. I opted for the medicated oil which had a cooling sensation and I felt cold halfway through. The masseuse said she turned on the heat and it would take a few minutes but it never got any warmer. As for the massage, at check in, you complete a questionnaire on their tablet to state what area to focus on and pressure level - I selected deepest, but the pressure was only average and with the oil, it was more like a rub down than a massage for half of the time. I asked for more pressure during but it was still just average. Massage only 3/5. I didn't let this bring down the rating, but they had sold Groupons before and was making it almost impossible to book and I was told they have limited spots for redemption and the next availability would be in 2 months. Then was told twice I should just ask Groupon to cancel the voucher. After letting them know I'll reflect this in their rating, they called their boss/owner on speaker phone and the owner was quite crass on the phone in Chinese for about 5 mins saying it's not their issue because the voucher said Mon-Thurs (I was next door on a Sat and decided to pop in to ask about availability) but finally to let me use it if they had openings. So I was able to get my massage right away with no wait, but it was still bad business. There's no way they were fully booked Monday-Thurs for 2 months with no spots for Groupon! I wanted to take my mom somewhere for a massage because she always complains about her back and shoulder pain, so I looked into massage places and found Massage Crystal. With my mom's fluctuating work schedule, it was only possible for me to book an appointment last-minute. I had called in and asked the lady about different times available for the "couple package," and she was very kind and worked out a time with me (a little over an hour before the appointment)! We went on a Wednesday evening and it felt pretty empty. They had us sign in and asked us what areas on our body we'd like to target and what level of massage we'd like: light, medium, or hard. (Keep in mind I'd never gotten an actual massage before, so for me it was a mistake to have chosen medium because the masseuses are very strong. But you can always ask them to adjust mid-massage. If you're a newbie and don't really need that deep tissue massage, then I'd recommend light). My mom was satisfied with her massage, and they offered us some free water bottles at the end. It is newly opened and the facility is clean and well-maintained. They also wipe off the oil with a hot towel after the massage which is a nice touch so we don't get oil all over our clothes afterwards. We got a couples massage and it actually was good. This is the third massage crystal we have tried. We always get the same service ... essential oil with hot stone or medicated oil with hot stone. I chose rosemary which supposed to support the immune system. My partner chose the medicated oil this time but this is not his first time trying. It went well but for some reason by the time we got home, his inner thighs were very itchy. Not sure what went different this time, so we will need to check what exactly is in it. Once i got there i was offered refreshments and water( they had sodas too, mind blowing). Ella gave me the best massage ever! She adjusted according to where i had the most pain and stress.
