I was out of state during covid-19 for 3 years but need to pay monthly charge even I put on hold force me to cancel my membership since I could not come back while covid virus was pretty bad. Came to visit from California and needed a massage. I didn't have an appointment and I was able to be seen right away. I was surprised to see how many rooms they had and offered facials as well. I went to see Simon for a 60 min deep tissue massage and he was amazing. He was better than the masseuse I see back home at elements. I come out here every 3 months or so to visit family and friends so I decided to get the membership. Highly recommend Simon, that's who I'll be seeing at this location here on out. Ahhhh...I needed that. This was only my second massage ever and wow it was great. As you who get these regularly know, by the end relaxation overcomes you and you're ready to fall asleep. I am not a stressed person so I didn't get the message to relieve that but, to loosen my muscles. I work out 3 times a week with light weights to maintain strength and musculoskeletal integrity. This deep massage really felt good loosening up those deep muscles and I actually felt stronger and more able the next day when I worked out. I strongly encourage you to try a massage if you've never experienced it. Massage Envy does a good job of providing professional masseuse, clean facilities and a relaxing environment. Go! read more

honestly didn't want to leave a review but it's now been a few negative experiences at this location. a while back I came out for a 90 minute massage, the masseuse was over 20 mins late before staff finally checked to see what was going on and realized they hadn't notified the masseuse I was on the schedule. they had another massage booked after me and made the executive decision to just cancel my whole massage instead of changing the other person's booking. the manager gave me a very half assed apology and said he'd throw in some kind of aroma something at my next appointment (shocker, that didn't happen) as if that made up for having to schedule a babysitter to make it out for my massage. today I show up and my masseuse doesn't take me in to my room until after it's been the 10 min grace period (so, starting late), and then proceeds to basically finger paint on my back. I have never, ever cancelled anything midsession. I told the masseuse what wasn't working for me, and asked for what I would prefer. she'd try doing something differently for maybe 2 seconds and just revert to what felt like gentle poking. I had requested a medium pressure massage. I don't think this could even qualify as light, truly. at around the 30 min mark, so less than 20 mins bc she was late, she asked me if I wanted to book with someone else and suggested I book with a male masseuse (super weird, especially since 2 of the best masseuses I've experienced with ME were both women and as a woman, I'm generally more comfortable with women) and they were unable to rebook anyone else to complete the massage. I had a facial booked for after my massage that I now have to wait an hour to begin in my car. I'll stick to the ME in Craig ranch. the only time there have been issues (messed up booking) the manager was actually apologetic and made sure I felt a fair solution was met he was also so informative on explaining the benefits of my membership and overall an awesome asset to their team. read more

This location deserves 0 stars. I have been a Massage Envy member for over 5 years. I recently relocated to Texas for a job for a short number of months and used this location. They have cancelled 2 or my appointments within 24 hours. Then they say they sent a reminder to me (They didn't I have the texts to prove it.) and I missed an appointment and now they wanna charge me. Why was the appointment missed because I got no reminder and my car was broken into. In 5 years my wife and I have never missed an appointment and have always got a reminder. They even sent me a text this morning to book an appointment today. Full of Lies! They will be losing my wife and I as members who have been loyal customers of massage envy for over 5 years. Judy was great! I made a day-of appointment because I woke up with pain. I was able to get in with Judy who did an amazing job. She listened to my preferences, used the perfect amount of pressure, and made adjustments when needed. I added the EMT biofreeze which really helped. I liked it so much I bought some on the way out. The room was relaxing and soft music playing. The only weird thing was they asked me personal questions out loud at check in, I've only ever filled out on an iPad... but everyone was super friendly and professional. I've been trying to get a hold of the owner, figure out why I keep getting the run around. They charged my card for monthly payment without asking me, today I was told they cancel my husbands membership (which we never sign up for) and they won't return my money or transfer the credit to my account. If we want to use the credit my husband has, (3 month worth) they want us to sign for a membership. I've been a member here for years. ALSO, once you give them a credit card to MAKE A PAYMENT, that also means you have signed up for a membership. So you have no choice. This is by far my worst experience with body massages. Starting from their over priced session, with unclean massage leanings. I stumbled here one afternoon and decided to book appointment with my friend for a relaxed evening after work and regretted every minute of it. I hate to bash businesses because I want the best for them, but I don't like ppl ripping me off. I will never recommend this place to even my enemies if I had any First, they require to have your credit card for reservations. When we arrived, no information was given or suggested before our session, like if we like any type of massage oil, nothing. All they cared about was enrolling you to there membership, which made me wonder why she asked only that. Secondly, when I made my appointment, I requested my preferences, which they ignored, but I didn't want to make a seen so I went with their flow. My message therapist was mediocre, my body felt worse post my session. I don't need any refunds or free session for speaking my experience. Update 1/14/19 Continued shady practices. I was charged again for services not received. Miraculously they found my number and called to let me know I was charged. The assistant mgr also called me to let me know corporate policy and the manager responded via email (photos attached). AVOID THIS LOCATION AND ITS SHADY PRACTICES. Avoid the steal your money scheme here. Called last week (1/2/19)to cancel my monthly contract which need to be canceled 10 days before my auto draft (1/12/19). Spoke with Lexi (asst manager). She stated I needed to come in to do a form which I couldn't I was in Arizona. She agreed to email me the form which she did. I went to fedex office printed, completed, and emailed back the form same day. Mind you my name is Kevin not Richard (pic attached)as her email stated, but I digress. I asked for confirmation of receipt of my completed form which she did. Why I'm not happy: To finish up my business with this location I had a gift card with a balance. So I made an appointment with Sarah (great therapist) through Lexi (Asst manager) for 1/5/19 @1130. I've had 5-6 other appointments in the last 2 months. No misses or cancellations. Fast forward to today: Walked in Lexi (asst mgr) greets me and tries to look up my appointment. She says it was for yesterday not today and that they charged my CC on file a no show fee. Ok cool no problem. Can you please reverse the fee. Use my gift card and we all it even. Which she did. What really irritated me was that she asked if I got a call from them . NO. Then she said "oh we don't have your number on file". Hmmmm...but you have a completed contract including: Name Address Email Credit card And PHONE NUMBER So you can charge my CC but can't call me? I call BULL POOP Avoid this place and spend you $$$$ elsewhere. As a former manager of a retail establishment and current business executive to another manager own the mistake and make it right. My husband stopped in to purchase a surprise massage for me, he wanted to pay for it ahead of time and then bring me in on the scheduled day but they would not accommodate him unless they kept a card on file, why would they need this if the massage was paid for ahead of time? Even if I didn't show up they got their money. My husband did not want to leave his card on file snd they refused to work with him so he said forget it and left. A few days ago I got a text to confirm my massage appt which is how I found out about this whole thing and since he told them to forget it I did not confirm it. Today they called me asking if I wanted to move my appt up an hr earlier I said I never scheduled an appt with your store and she said oh ok and that was that. A few hours later a much ruder lady called and said I understand you said you never made an appt but you did and we text you to confirm it so we are going to have to charge you. So I said no I never made an appt my husband tried to yadda yadda but you guys wouldn't work with him so he said forget it and left and I never confirmed that text message so don't you think that means I'm not coming? She said well we are still going to charge you? I said how are you going to charge me you don't have a card on file that's what this whole thing is about? She said um we do have a card on file. So we stopped in the store to see which card they have on file NO they do not have a card on file so nice to know they feel they can lie & attempt to threaten customers. One would think in the world we live in they would want customers to choose their salon? I for one will never step foot in that place again and if the owner reads this I would definitely suggest some customer service courses for the lady with the blue hair. I get a voice mail today asking if I am still going today. I completely forgot about it and I was not given a call or text. I called and spoke to Karen, the store manager. OMG she was so rude. She said that the calls and texts are courtesy only. I did not receive a text nor a call. I even read through the texts and nothing. She said she just sent one, did not receive it. I asked when they called and left a voice message. I got nothing. I asked for the area manager and was given the name of Tarin, not sure about the spelling. I stopped going there a couple of years ago, because they would cancel my appointments and not tell me. I even had the card for when I had an appointment, but they said that it was the day before not the day written on the card. This location is AWEFUL. read more

I can't speak for other locations, but I won't be back to this one. Their massage therapists are all pleasant, but most of their receptions are rude. I don't know if it is from a lack of proper training or just poor hiring, but their receptionists create such an unsettling environment for me. They give short, curt responses, talk with each other and ignore the customer, and can't be bothered or aren't competent enough to explain their policies. I've always loved the Allen location of massage envy however recently Massage Envy made a change where they no longer give a call or a text to confirm your appointment so if you forget or need to cancel and it's less than 24hrs notice they just charge you $25. unfortunately this just happened to me and I wasn't even told on the phone that I would be receiving a charge, had I've been given that information I would've decided to keep my appointment and made it work. I love the staff at Massage Envy Allen. The front desk staff remembers you by name and the therapists taylor the massage to your needs. I have used Billy and Heather for years. I have been with the Allen location for 10 or more years. The therapists also give you instructions on items to do at home to keep your results from your massage. They gave me stretches to do. The front desk staff will let you know of deals that can save you money. I can't say enough about this group. read more

My mom got me a set of massages for Christmas and I was happy to use one, but just a heads up even if you pre-pay for a massage you'll still need to tip (~$15) and if you want aromatherapy oils it's another $15. That being said, it was a nice massage and the therapist was very professional. You fill out a form your first time to tell them what you want to work on, any aches and pains you have, and then move into the room. Undress to your underwear (ladies I recommend removing your bra unless you want lotion all over it) and climb under the sheet. Therapist will come back in and massage you, and just be honest about the pressure you want. Tell them if they are pushing too hard, or if they can push harder. And enjoy! read more

Totally average massage experience. Their facility is clean and well kept, but they keep it a little too "sterile" feeling, instead of feeling like you're in a relaxing spa. My massage therapist was friendly and we got to talking during my session, and he was very personable. It wasn't the most amazing massage I ever received, but still relaxing and helpful. My biggest issue with massage envy (and this goes for all of them, not just this location) is that they care more about you buying a membership (which really is not a good deal) then they actually care about you. Immediately after your massage, they tell you that you definitely need to be coming in once a week (that's a stretch) and then push you on their membership. Overall, I don't enjoy coming here (I had a coupon when I went) the massages are not worth what you are paying, and it's mostly because the care and attention is spent on selling memberships. I understand a business needs to make money, but their model makes it ALL about money, and very little about the customer, or their overall experience. Other massage spas are more honest about how often you actually should come in, and don't push memberships on you right after you open your eyes. Although, maybe someone with a membership feels differently and that's totally understandable. I would not recommend them though and instead would encourage finding a local, small business spa, or even someone who does House calls. These businesses are much more customer driven, and you usually get a better quality massage out of it. And this goes for all massage envy's not just this one, my previous experience was at the location in the Carrollton/Lewisville area. read more

I see why they have so many negative reviews at this location. They are incompetent. I would leave less than a 1 star if I could. They have incompetents at the office, they had me scheduled for days I was not supposed to be there. They changed my time on a day I had set to accommodate another client. They don't read the text messages they send out, but they blast you with all these open times. They are having more and more all the time due to the manager and office staffs incompetence. I understand why now I could overhear so many unhappy clients that quit them. Not sure of their reasoning, but it is very clear the personnel in this office cannot do the simplest office skills of setting appointments or canceling them. I have been a member of Massage Envy for years, and I have had the WORST experience with the ALLEN location lately. I have almost 20 massages I've paid for, but for the last 5 TIMES I have been cancelled. That's right, 5 times in a row!!! I called and have spoken with a manager after the third and was assured that this never happens at their location, yet it happened two more times! I've lived here almost 10 years and never tried this location but was over due for a massage. The massage was ok. The therapist was polite and respectful. Helped work out some much needed knots. No real complaints. The price was right and you get what you pay for, right? I wasn't expecting a resort style massage and I didn't get one so value wise I can't complain. The part I'm struggling with is the cover that was on the part where you put your face smelled like sweat. Why I didn't mention this and insist it be changed I have no idea. Gross. It's all I can smell now. I'd write more but you get the idea. Besides, now I'm gonna need to go shower. Seems like a standard procedure to do this in between customers so hopefully if you find yourself in this situation you will be smarter than me and speak up immediately. read more

I love this location by far, I have been coming here for about a year. Saundra is my favorite massage therapist, she has been able to get all the pain I have in my neck to disappear. The front desk girls are super sweet and welcoming every time my boyfriend and I come in for a couples massage. There was way too much selling start to finish, which I don't think is the fault of the employees. It's apparent the employees have enormous pressure to sell products and memberships. It was hardly relaxing because the sales pitch started the moment I walked in and didn't stop until the moment I left. It felt more like being at a used car lot. Also, one of the girls in the front was very loudly asking the intake questions instead of allowing me to read them off the iPad, which was extremely embarrassing to me since I was having to audibly answer questions about health and skin conditions in front of other people. I wish she would have at least spoke more softly but she was very loud. I am pretty unhappy about the experience here. The treatment was fine but the experience was not. read more

Because of my wife's health, we've been investing in massage therapy for a long time, all of our experiences have been great, but this is by far the WORST Massage Envy branch we've ever been to. In stark contrast to the many others we've been to, they were thoroughly unprofessional. The female 'massage therapist' named Samantha that treated my wife for 90 minutes was unbelievably, disturbingly unprofessional. She tried to take her towel off her front and acted like it was an accident. Her body tone, movement, non verbal communication and overall methodology was inappropriate, uncomfortable and wildly unprofessional. We almost wish she would have done something more tangible as we would then have grounds to press charges, but as it stands we have no objective evidence to prove her nasty, wrong, and emotionally disturbing behavior. My wife cried afterward and is severely emotionally disturbed.... Don't go here as long as it's under current management or Samantha is there... bad news.... read more

I initially gave a one star. But their manager just called me and she was very nice and helpful so I am changing it to three stars. I also had amazing massage therapists here, Miriam and Lois. I enjoyed all the sessions I had with them. However, I had a very unpleasant experience on the phone with their representative today and decided to write about it. I came in last Saturday and tried to cancel my membership. Front desk told me I can only do that with a manager and their manager only works from Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm. I told him I work in downtown Dallas and can't come in during that time period. He told me a manager is going to call me on Monday. I didn't receive a phone call on Monday, or Tuesday, or Wednesday. On Thursday I wanted to make an appt so I called to see if I have any credits left on my account. I thought I have one but the front desk girl told me I don't. She was so nice and helpful. We went through my account to see if anything was wrong. She ended up telling me I should have one credit and she would discuss with her manager and let the manager call me back. I never received a call back. So today I called again. It was a different girl on the phone and I requested to speak with a manager. She asked what my issue is and I explained. She check on my account. Before I got a chance to even explain to her, she said to me, word by word, "you don't have a credit and you shouldn't have one." Well, thank you for throwing that conclusion on my face without even investigating on my side of the story. Then we went through my account. According to her, several appointments that I made on the app and I canceled by phone (their app won't let you cancel) weren't shown as cancelled in their system. I told her I did call and I have the phone record showing that I called and that those appointments don't even show under my account online. She said to me several times she was looking at their system right now and that's what it shows, and that they can't look at my record because it is not company record. Funny I was also looking at my account on your website and it shows something different and it is not my fault your record is inconsistent. She didn't care. So at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what I did or can prove, as long as they don't have it in their system, I didn't cancel and I was lying. She kept interrupting me when I was talking and eventually I had to tell her to stop interrupting me and that it was so rude for her to do that. I was so frustrated and felt like I was accused of being a liar all the time. One example, when I told her the representative I had yesterday told me I should have a credit. She asked me what her name is. Sorry I don't remember. She asked me what time I called, I pulled up my record and told her. Then she told me "if you called at this time yesterday, you either spoke with me or you spoke with a manager. and I am sure I didn't speak with you." Yea I am sure I didn't speak with you either because the other girl was so much nicer. But I guess I was lying because I couldn't remember the name of the girl I spoke to. I was shaky when I got off the phone. Eventually I told her I didn't call to argue about my credits and I really don't care about a $65 credit. I called because I was supposed to talk to a manager a week ago. She told me they have to go through the protocol to see if a manager would talk to me. So be aware, you don't decide whether you can talk to a manager there. They do. I was beyond frustrated at the time and told her I just want to cancel. I heard their manager talking somewhere close to her with another customer and I told her she needs to call me after she finishes with this customer. Then she told me she wasn't sure if the manager will still be there then, even though it was not even 2:30pm. I ended up requesting the form of cancellation and got off the phone before I have to break something in my office to get my frustration out. More than likley I won't be coming back. The fact that they short you time on every massage, 20 minutes at least (they state in the contract 5 minute dressing time before and after massage but fail to mention they get you at least 15 minutes late for the massage). Deceptive Practices & they won't take ownership for it. When we signed up we were told we could cancel at any time and when we canceled we would have 6 months to use the remaining balance of credits. We canceled two months later as we didn't live close and when I made my last booking at another location (who were great and could see the error), they confirmed the credit. However AFTER my massage, I was told they couldn't apply it as you had to use it within 60 days. But they could see an issue as I shouldn't have been able to cancel. They called the Allen store and they immediate confirmed and said "oh it's one of those ones" and myself and the Director of the other location that the Manager (who no longer worked there) who sold us the packages had been engaging in shady and deceptive sales tactics and were let go. She though wouldn't release the credit or help and that she would have to call the owner. There was no gap in the call but with both myself and the Director from the other store her story began to change and couldn't keep it straight. Suddenly the manager worked there again (who she has acknowledged told us wrong information to get us to sign up) and remembers telling us it was 60 days and then she has somehow called her owner while talking to me to explain the situation and said they weren't willing to help. Eventually she started to question my integrity and called me a liar and hung up on the Director of the other store (who was calm and was offering solutions). They acknowledged we were given false information as a sales tactic, couldn't kept their story straight and wouldn't make it right. DO NOT GO HERE!! read more

My therapist was not planning to come to work. They did not even bother to call and tell me. They sure want you to RSVP that you will be at your appointment but don't even tell you that your therapist is not going to be there. So instead I show up and sit for 20 mins and then they tell me they have bad news...no massage and could not fit me in with anyone else. Terrible customer service!!!! Terrible! read more

I have had multiple issues with this specific location, mainly with the front desk/scheduling. I went to this location for years for my favorite massage therapist, and I continued to go there after he left. On 3 occasions I showed up for an appointment and there was some sort of issue causing my appointment to be cancelled or it was not properly booked. On one occasion the girl I scheduled with was at the front desk, and she remembered talking to me and scheduling my appointment, but it wasn't properly booked it or it was somehow deleted. The final straw was when I got a text in the morning with available appointments (a great feature) and I called to book a facial in an available time slot. I showed up, they checked me in and sent me to the waiting room where I sat for 15 minutes past my appointment time. Finally I went to the front desk where they could no longer find my appointment, and couldn't figure out what happened. They eventually realized they had accidentally booked me for the following day. It was not worth the hassle anymore and I cancelled my monthly account. The therapists and estheticians have usually been great, but the front desk ruined it for me. I have many issues with scheduling by text, even though they specifically offer that feature when they send out appointment times and availability. Hopefully they can get it together. read more
