This location is the only one that continues to be more than 30 minutes late or cancels at the last minute. I don't think they have MY policy that I do not accept cancellations under 24 hours. I've definitely been to better massage parlors. If you're looking for any sort of luxury, you won't find it here. Everything is very standard, bland, and nothing to rave about, especially for the price. I've spent the same $75 (plus tip) and received a weighted robe to wear into the room, slippers, aromatherapy, and even an entire bathroom with a steam room that i could use for however long I like. On top of the lack luster feel of Massage Envy, the actual massage is only 50 minutes instead of an hour. Apparently they give you 5 minutes to "consult" with the therapist and 5 minutes to get dressed at the end, which I didn't use most of that allotted time. I was in the room at 6:56 and out by 7:45 and rushed into the lobby to pay. In addition, my therapist, Cathy, was pretty talkative for an experience that is supposed to be relaxing. She was asking me about my job (teaching), explaining how she doesn't like when children cry and that she's a disciplinarian, and explaining every step of the massage process, which I didn't care to know. I will probably not be back. There are plenty of other massage parlors in the Burlington or surrounding areas to visit. read more

The worst ever experience. Kept collecting monthly payment for membership and no appointments available. Finally canceled my membership since I've accumulated too many but they only gave me a month to use all 10 credits. Whenever I called went to voicemail and nobody got back to me. Needless to say a month went by and wasted credits that I was not able to use because they refused to extend the deadline for another week. When I could have gone to another location. Please note, I ended up using majority of my remaining credits in another location about an hour away. Disheartening experience. I should've listen to people who discouraged me from signing up for monthly membership. As of today, 3/9/22, I received a message thru Yelp from ME to reach out to franchised location manager so they can address further. All I can say is, yes I have reached out 8x within 30 days of my deadline to use all my credits, not including another ME location staff to help me get an extension, with no call back from the Burlington manager or staff. So I am sure I will be on the same boat I was trying to get a hold of the franchise manager. read more

Joined Massage Envy for much needed relaxation, however I appear to be receiving more bills than services due to their inability to accommodate appointments. However, the way a company works with their clients makes a difference in retaining longterm clients that will continue to work with you or discouraging clients by undervaluing them until they no longer are willing to work with you. My attempts to rectify this situation has been met with the staffs lack professionalism, blatant sarcasm and paperwork deceptions that is simply is unacceptable. Even if this location had appointments to accommodate the number of credits we that they have yet to be able to accommodate I would NOT return, nor recommend this location to anyone! They are quick to charge, slow to offer services and demeaning in their responses as to why. read more

I wanted to spend $400 for a gift card for my wife's birthday and wanted to add it to her previous card which I did not have with me. Brook at the front desk began referring to a confidentiality policy when I was more than able to provide the number but was not allowed to example my situation. I could have even shown how I had done this before and she would not give me a chance to explain. I quickly let her know that I would spend my $400 elsewhere and was not going to deal with the hassle. I purchased the original gift card but was not going to be hassled to spend my own money. Went to Kay's Jewelers and purchased her a bracelet for $700 that was on sale. It cost me more money but I have 2 reasons for spending it: 1. My wife is worth it. 2. I will not spend money and be hassled while doing it. (Unless a Policeman catches me spending and I deserve that hassle). Good customer service is the Key to Business Success! read more

I have been a member of Massage Envy since October 1, 2016. Over the years I have enjoyed your facial & massage services, as well as the beautiful customer service- up until last week. Last week, August 1st or 2nd- I called the Massage Envy at 1469 University Dr. Burlington, NC 27215. I spoke with Melissa at about 11:25 a.m. The reason for my call to this location was to change over my membership from NM to the Massage Envy in Burlington, NC. My account had recently become unfrozen, and I was ready to start using my 6.5 credit sessions on my account. The reason I had put it on a freeze was that I had previously had conversations with the Massage Envy in Burlington about setting up a massage appointment, but they were low-staffed with no availability from months on out. Nonetheless, I was ready to start using my 6.5 credit sessions. When I called the Massage Envy in Burlington and got Melissa- everything was descent until I stated "I would like to see if there's any availability for a masseuse. Melissa became condescending and started to chastise me over the phone. In my opinion, Melissa was offended and took it upon herself to educate me with a very negative delivery/approach. Offending her was never my intention. I have used the term "masseuse" (a woman who provides massage professionally; originated from France) for over 10+ years. I never knew that it was a politically incorrect statement. I do not know the jargon that transpires in this facility. With that being said, I feel that there was a more professional & respectful way that Melissa could have delivered the message to me. Due to the rudeness of her nature- I immediately requested a manager- Melissa would not get one on the line nor did she do anything to suggest that she would have a manager call me back. She also stated that I could go to another Massage Envy and that there is one in Greensboro. Nearly, 22 miles away, while the one in Burlington is not even about 5 minutes away from my residence. Soon after I requested the owner's name- Melissa didn't know the owner's name. I then requested a number to call to report her unprofessional & unethical behavior. At this point, she continued to put me on hold (several times) to supposedly assist other customers, that in my opinion, came after my call. Each time kept me on hold for extremely long periods of time. In the call center world of customer service- this behavior would be called "Call Avoidance"- a way to teach a customer a so-called lesson. She eventually came back to the line with a website, massage envy com/reports. I asked her if these calls were recorded. She responded with a smart reply but in the end, the answer was yes. I am so happy the calls are recorded; I hope that our conversation can be pulled and evaluated. I have never been treated so badly by your establishment in my whole time of being with you. I ended up calling Massage Envy in NM to let them know what had happened. I told them I wanted to continue to freeze my account until I figured out what I was going to do. I would have ended my membership at that moment if I didn't have 6.5 credit sessions available. The receptionist educated me on the masseuse terminology in a professional way- and now I understand. Moving forward I do not have a problem saying, massage therapist. I do have a problem with the way I was mistreated. I was going to move my membership to Burlington and give this location my money? I think not! I would rather stay connected to NM- and use my membership at other locations. At least until I use up my credits- I may cancel after that, I am not sure. But I will say this, I didn't deserve the mistreatment. I do not know the jargon in Massage Envy. Massage tables vs. beds etc... Why should I be treated so rudely for not knowing? I have spent too much money and have tipped very well to be treated this way. My father is an investor in NYC, and he stated that I should just hire a professional personal massage therapist that I can trust. That they will come to me and set up a table. He said I am the paying customer. I should not have been treated that way. After Covid-19- customer service has not been the same. People think that they can get paid for treating customers in any kind of way. No, you cannot. Without customers, Melissa would not have a job at Massage Envy. I'm actually taken back that Massage Envy would even hire someone like Melissa to be unprofessional to their customers. However, realized soon after that they charge an up charge of $20 per massage.The lady told me it would only be $10, which I was okay with. I tried to cancel my membership after realizing the price difference because I moved to NYC, but they wouldn't let me. Also, if you have to cancel an appointment, they take away your credits. Charge me $25 or something, not $120!!! Clearly I would not recommend this terrible company to anyone! Zero stars!!! read more

I decided to give the facials a whirl. I like Shana and Michelle. Every time I left I received so many compliments. Their attention was magical. Now the supposed customer service employees can only be described as lazy. Unfortunately my wife and I signed up for the monthly massage deal and it's a one year contract. I was advised by my Doctor to discontinue massages for a few months due to a slipped disc in my back. I already 4 or 5 sessions prepaid at this business. I therefore 'froze ' my payment plan so I would not get too many sessions in advance. Today I tried to use a session I had already paid for only to be told I could not because my payment plan was frozen. Therefore I am out about $300 dollars in services. I was told I could have had 'frozen plus' for only $10. a month. Never told that. I canceled my membership and will tell all my friends about this unfair practice. Sorry E. I have a massage once a month and wanted to give this place a try. Charges and services were very confusing. Trys to be a spa and definitely not a spa atmosphere. Therapist was OK but wanted lots of direction from me on service - it should be the other way around because they are the professional. Lots of pressure to buy into monthly service package. When I said no, they were definitely finished with me. Didn't ask if I wanted another appointment or not. Therapist said they needed more time and recommended 1 1/2 hours going forward (would be at additional charge to monthly plan). I wouldn't recommend this place because of the pressure and the inexperience of the staff. read more

I am going on 2 years with fairly regular visits. It took me a few visits to find the therapist that best fit my needs but when I did I did not want anyone else. She is excellent and I cannot say enough good things. I've never had issues and the front desk staff have always been helpful. I like the membership. It's my one thing I do for myself and it encourages me to get a massage. I try to keep my appointments 2 in advance to ensure I have one as my therapists schedule stays very busy. read more

I had a massage here a year ago and it was horrible--unfriendly staff, massage itself was nothing more than a light back rub, so I decided I wouldn't be back. Fast forward to today, I had a gift certificate for Balance Day Spa and called to see if they could get me in, they were polite and let me know that they were completely booked. Out of desperation and in need of a serious massage, I called Massage Envy. The lady who answered was short, sarcastic, and all but laughed when I asked if they had any openings today.
