I would give this location six starts if I could. I have been a member for over two years and enjoy going on a monthly basis. I should say I really look forward to my appointments. The therapists are great and the location is only a few minutes from my house. If you would have asked me three years ago if I would consider a membership to Message Envy I would have said something like "over my dead body". But after some post running soreness combined with my unwillingness to stretch I desperately needed some relief and found it here. I have used four or five therapists over the years and they all did great. I have recently been asking for Carrie Lynn and she has done an excellent job in working out my kinks. Some very good massages, some not so good. But management is why it's one star. They could not accommodate my membership, but kept charging me after I advised them to cancel. (Could not accommodate: I require deep tissue. I paid a monthly "membership" for one free massage/month. I called three times in two weeks to schedule and no one was available.) Read your contract. When you get fed up, send communications in writing, via certified mail. When I went in to straighten it out, the manager passed me off to her trainee/lackee, who then explained that I was cancelling TODAY (over a month later) and I needed to SIGN her RELEASE saying it was totally okay to charge me for ANOTHER MONTH per the TERMS of their IRON-CLAD agreement. I declined. Oh, yea, then I went to ME in Houston. Didn't know they were all the same company. So after they agreed to my rate and provided the massage, the manager "AHAAA"'ed me and said I would have to pay twice as much because I was a former member in Austin. It's like they emphasize being unpleasant, secretive and shady. So, these guys are out. I go to Massage Harmony now. Still a little pot luck (mostly good massages), but no games, tricks or "AHAA"s. read more

This was my first visit at this location. I asked for a staff member who could do deep tissue massage. Sergei turned out to be that person. All the staff were courteous and helpful. Sergei was attentive to the amount of pressure used as well S modesty. I will book again for pain relief. read more

The massage Envy at Circle C has actually made me rethink my decision to discontinue my membership. I have been to several different Massage Envy locations in Austin and have not been very satisfied. I either wait a long time or the massage ends up well below my expectations. A family member recommended that I see Lisa at the Circle C location to help with a sports related injury. I have been seeing Lisa for a deep tissue massage anywhere from twice a week to every other week for the past couple of months. She seems to be very experienced. She listens your needs and exceeds them. She also gives great advice on after massage care. The front desk staff is very friendly and quick to get you in and out. I would highly recommend this location and Lisa as your massage therapist! read more

I enjoy getting a massage for stress relief and relaxation, but this summer I have been going for lower back pain relief. Sunshine has been incredible. She really works the deep tissues and, as another reviewer stated about their massage, it is not always "relaxing", but it is so helpful in relieving pain and facilitating increased movement. I just recently had a 90 minute massage and it was fantastic. My back feels better and the additional 30 minutes provided Sunshine with more time to address other areas of need, too. I have also had massages administered by Amy. She was wonderful, too. Obviously, others think so, too, because she is often booked when I am available. The monthly membership fee is a splurge and there are times that I would like to have the money for other necessities, but then I remind myself that doing something to help myself feel better is a necessity. read more

She not only provided me with a good session herself but made excellent recommendations for the future with other masseuses and different types of massages. The thing I love about massage envy is that you can always call a day or two out and get almost any time slot you want and any kind of massage you want. And it's not because they aren't busy. They are always busy too. I should say that I like the massage therapists as a whole better at the Circle C location than at the Southpark Meadows location. The only drawback to Massage Envy's are the always inevitable question at the end if you want a membership. I work part-time and funds are tight right now so I can't afford a membership, I can only go a few times a year, and when I get gift cards for my birthday and Christmas, so I do hate the dreaded question. I wish they could put a note on my account that says "don't ask, she doesn't want a membership." but I guess it doesn't work that way. And they aren't too pushy so I shouldn't complain. Sergei was my massage therapist and he was pretty good. i got a deep tissue massage and even though he asked me several times if the pressure was fine, and almost everytime I said it was, I still think there's a very delicate balance between digging deep into the knots, but also making it still feel good. He wasn't as great at that, but the girl I used last time I was at this one, Lisa, she did really good at that. She just wasn't available when I made my appointment this time. This is a great Massage Envy location! My boyfriend and I decided to buy a membership after going three times and always getting a good therapist. The membership is a good deal, especially given that EACH massage you get after your first one for any given month (the monthly session that comes with the membership) is only $39 for an hour! Chris at Circle C is my favorite therapist there. If your got some soreness or aching from a sports injury, he's got a great clinical / therapeutic technique! I had terrible lower back pain I got from pulling something in the gym. After working with Chris just two times, that pain and tightness completely dissipated! read more

I've been a member of Massage Envy for years; however, recently moved to Austin and began going to the location on Escarpment Blvd. I have been there many times, with probably 4 or 5 different therapists, all of whom have been great. I really like this place and the location. I joined when they first opened and for the most part have beeIn really pleased. I did take some time to find the right therapist for me. Sometimes you find a really good one just to find out they are no longer at the company. I have a GREAT therapist at this time and will always use her because she seems to really listen to what my needs are on the particular day. This location ruined my birthday. We had a couples massage booked for today, 12/12. When we went in they told us our appointments were for tomorrow, 12/13. They stated their manager was the one that booked the appointments - insinuating that we must have told them the wrong date. There is no way we told them 12/13, we both took the day off and are pretty confident about which day I was born. While I understand that mistakes happen, they didn't seem to care or try to make it right. It's my birthday for God's sake. I used to have a membership at the Lakeway location and cancelled it. I was actually planning on resubscribing during today's appointment but that obviously will not be happening now. Thanks for ruining the one day I had off from work and the few hours I had without my son to treat myself. Seriously disappointed with the lack of empathy and customer service. read more

My dear friend and fellow SF Yelper Glenn C. flew into town unexpectedly because he got a cheap ticket for booking a flight on Sept 11th. So in return for borrowing my car for a some fishing time in Texas and a place to stay he said hey let's go get massages on me. this place rocked. My massage therapist was Deborah and I highly recommend her if you have a chance. She was very intuitive and aware of what areas needed work. From the moment I walked in I was refereed to on a first name basis and offered water. Because it was both of our first times there we were able to take advantage of the $39 rate for newbies.After the first time you can do a monthly massage for $49 a month. I may very well become a regular there. I love massage and don't no why I waited so long to try this place. So 5 stars for being my first massage in Austin and for it being an exceptionally great experience and my pal picking up the tab. read more

Having been a member for over 8 years, I've come to expect small price increases here and there. Natural inflation is part of the world in which we live. The latest increase though of $20 per session without having had any enhanced services, any aesthetic updates, adding insulation to the walls or increasing the cleanliness of the facility was the last straw. I'd be interested to know if the therapists are getting any increase or if that's all going to overhead, which I'm sure I know the answer. What a disappointment! My entire family has now cancelled their memberships are we're all looking for other massage options. read more

Massage Envy Circle C has been down the street for several years. I've been cautious about going in because I feared high pressure sales. But it came to a point the other evening that I was in some pain and happened to have a GC. I called and was able to get in a few hours later. My therapist was Beth. She was great and used a good firm pressure on me. She even showed me how to do some stretches to get my hips to loosen up. Unfortunately I still have this horrible knot in my neck, but after the weekend I've had I need another massage. I just wish she had enough time for a 1.5 hour massage! I didn't experience any high pressure sales upon check out, maybe I'm lucky because it was after 9. But I'm going to consider it anyway. And as far as the tipping signs. They don't bother me at all. I know how some people are and leave a crappy tip or none at all. These therapists are not earning what they'd earn if they were charging the typical 80-90$ for 1.5 hour massage. Plus it's hard work! I will be back to ME tonight or tomorrow for sure! read more

I have been using Carrie at Massage Envy at Circle C for almost 4 years. She is an excellent massage therapist. There are times when I have had to use others and they are also very good. I too have gotten massages elsewhere with my groupons and such but they have never been as good as what I get at Massage Envy at Circle C. read more

The therapists are great; especially Kerry and Erica. The front desk staff is hit or miss. There have been numerous errors with my appointments, the type of massage I booked, etc. Some of the front desk staff is friendly, which is what you would expect at a spa, while others are unorganized, rude, and should not be working at a front desk receptionist job. The last thing a person wants to deal with when going to a spa for relaxation is to deal with the hassle of a snotty kid with terrible eye-rolling facial expressions and flippant responses who doesn't know (or care) how to provide good customer service. Please do something to fix this problem. Perhaps a manager should be on duty to oversee the front desk staff? Please hire people who are friendly and capable. read more

I have been a member at this location for at least 3 years. I have received the best prenatal massage (by Carrie) at this location. I went through both pregnancies feel great thanks to this location and Carrie. I have never been disappointed with a massage and this location. They are convenient to where I live. Most of all of the message therapists I've seen over the few years I've been going here are great... Sergei, William and Devon... all great in their own ways. With that said, the problem with this place is their front desk staff. Made an appointment in the past to show up at a time different from what they booked me. Though I was sure I was right, I shrugged it off as a mutual error. Then I made an appointment not too long ago for my wife with a female therapist just for her to show up to find that therapist was no longer available at the scheduled time. Then more recently, I made an appointment for both me and my wife just for her to show up and them to say there was no scheduled appointment. Come to find out her therapist called in sick but no call or reschedule prior to her arrival... still waiting for the manager to call her back too... And later that day, as I was about to get my message I heard their staff tell a couple waiting for the couples room they had a scheduling conflict and that they could either wait another 15 minutes, or take separate rooms. They said they would wait as they were there that day because they were making up for an appointment they had a conflict with the week before. I could see they were frustrated...wowsers. If it weren't for the therapists, I would go elsewhere and recommend you do the same. So much for relaxing. Sad face. read more

I've been a member of massage envy for over 3 years now. So when I moved to the neighborhood I was thrilled that there was one down the street, making my drive one minute. The massage envy brand is pretty consistent across the various ones I've been to, but I have found the employees here (front desk and therapists) to be very warm and friendly. There are a lot of rooms so getting an appointment is easy and I love the 9:00 appointments because I can go home to sleep. There's always plenty of parking. Really the location is dynamite. For the price you pay to receive a great massage a membership can't be beat. While I do wish that massage envy had showers (which is a corporate choice, not an individual location thing as these are franchises), I understand that doing so would increase the monthly. $59/mo is just unbelievable and I think they know it's a winning price which is why they aren't making changes to it at this point. I've gotten prenatal massages too and those were a lifesaver later on in my pregnancy. I get facials every so often, and have always had wonderful facials that have left my skin rejuvenated and cleared. All in all, this location is incredible, the staff is delightful and professional and even having gotten massages from different therapists, they have all given me equally wonderful sessions. I love the location and have found 2 therapists that I absolutely love. They do great deep tissue and have great personalities. The front desk staff is always smiling and pleasant. My only complaint about the business as a whole is that I wish they would add more services, such as 20-30 min chair massages between full massages when you don't have enough time to set aside an hour, but need a quick tune-up. Prices could always be lower for loyal veteran members or offered some kind of reward program to earn discounted massages a few times a year.
