Terrible customer service. My gps took me across the street to the old location. I called 2x and got a machine. Called again and was asked to be put on hold -I needed directions to be on time so I said no. I finally got directions which were no where near the street address on the website. I walked in 7 mins late -maybe 8 and was checked in. Then told I should consider rescheduling cause the therapist has one more apt after me and he can't take him late cause I was late. I explained that I called and the address was wrong (which the person on the phone admitted they moved) and was told well you won't get an hour so. Ok so I am at 6 and the next is at 7, you really mean to tell me I get a full hour? And the next apt is his last of the day. Not that the next client should have to wait but I have waited 1000x for my hair, nails, MD, oil change because someone ahead of me wash few minutes late. Nope- wouldn't budge- so I walked out! Clearly you don't need my money and I am looking for a place to go for routine massages for shoulder, neck, and back tightness from exercise. Not here. Nope. read more

This place will and has always reminded me of a used car lot. It's a franchise and the receptionists are friendly, fake and inexperienced. They were whispering, giggling and laughing while I was sitting in the waiting area (which led me to believe they were being typical young immature girls talking about me the customer). Not the 1st time I have heard from some other friends they experienced the same at this location. Whoever the tiny girl with black lined glasses was trying way to hard, more so pushy to sell me the membership. It's way to overpriced for the service you get, but I guess if you just go once or twice a year it's alright. The same massage would have been 70% less in cost from Groupon with another business. First massage ever and it was amazing. I have severe sciatica and I'm hoping that a few sessions working these muscles of my hamstrings will loosen and eliminate the pain. Today I am so much better and looking forward to my "workout" with "G" again next week. As a guy, it's always hard to make the decision to go to a spa. I'm a hard-head and I know this. After my wife joined Massage Envy and had her first massage, she came back raving about how great it was. After her second appointment, same thing. After the third time, she made an appointment for me without asking, and came home and told me to get ready, because I have a massage appointment in 30 minutes. Reluctantly I went. That day, Sara C was my therapist. She found muscle issues that I didn't even know I had. That simple and short massage fixed the dull pains I live with on a daily basis, that I didn't even know were caused by muscle issues... I walked out of there feeling better than I had in a long while, and I was hooked. Now, Sara C is my regular therapist, and I look forward to every single session. I started off with 1hr massages, and have decided that 1.5hr massages are the way to go. I'd recommend Sara C for anybody looking for a great experience. There was one time that Sara C was not available for our regular session, as she was completely booked up. My wife who is a regular of Deborah F was able to get me booked with Deb F. Again, I'm a hard-head and didn't want to go to a different therapist, but I did..... And, I now know why my wife gives her rave reviews when she gets home from her sessions! Any time Sara C isn't available, Deb F is my next go-to therapist. They are both great and know what they are looking for and how to help relieve the most nagging muscle issues. I don't know about any of the other therapists, but you can't go wrong with Sara C or Deb F. The front desk has always been helpful too, whether it be working with me on rescheduling, missed appointments, or general questions. read more

I purchased a gift certificate for someone whom later was discovered to have symptoms preventing the massage type desired (which was not known at the time). The staff was unreasonable about both the rules for the symptoms and about a refund, which was ultimately denied. Regardless of company policy the staff did not handle the situation well, and additionally did not even have a manager present to ensure it did. Visit another location, there is good reason this one has had so many low reviews with similar complaints. read more

I have made the mistake of visiting three different Massage Envy locations... I get sucked in with a super cheap deal and have regretted it every time. I will not make the mistake again. You cannot customize the room temperatures and all three locations kept the entire office at 68 degrees, I was freezing. The massage personal are inexperienced (at least I hope that is their excuse), and the unrelaxing visit is topped off with a horrible and unrelenting sales pitch trying to have you purchase a membership. Stay away from all locations, they are all the same. Spend a few extra bucks elsewhere to make sure your spa experience is what it should be. read more

If you like going to a used car lot, you are going to love this place! I purchased a one hour massage for both my wife and my teenage daughter. It seemed like a great idea at the time, send the ladies in my life out to a nice lunch and a relaxing massage would be a great experience for them. I had no idea message envy would take this opportunity to try and hard sell them into a membership/treatment plan. Now comes the best part - the lady at the front desk told my wife she owed $10 as they were about to leave. When I got there I was paired up with a guy named David and, although I usually don't like having a male masseuse because I've ALWAYS had females and though that having a male would be kinda uncomfortable. I typically go to a massage therapy school for my massages because they're so affordable but my recent pain left me feeling I needed more of a legitimate one. Massage Envy's offerings caught my eye AND had a same day appt available! So great! I had a wonderful time. My therapist was so kind and thorough. I had Vanessa for my massage. The 90min flew right by. She was the exact amount of of pressure I needed. My one complaint is that I stated to both the therapist and Vanessa that I would like focus on not only my neck and shoulders, but my lower back. Sadly, my lower back felt neglected. My neck and shoulders on the other hand feel the best they have in years. Ill definitely be coming back, maybe just making my requests absolutely clear. read more

He was kind and patient and definitely took his time to explain the procedure, how much I needed to undress (to my comfort level only) and absolutely worked wonders with my back/legs. I've had a membership for a couple of years, basically to force me to get a massage (desk job leaves me with tight shoulders and some neck issues) and I have tried several therapists -- have yet to leave unhappy. Sorry to hear that some people are not happy. I am VERY satisfied with the San Tan location. I joined in Gilbert, but I moved to San Tan when they opened because it was closer to my home. I have never regretted that decision. The staff are always polite and professional. I have been seeing Sean for quite awhile, and I LOVE her. She is always attentive to my needs and will focus on certain problem areas if I ask. I've also seen Lynn for facials, and have been very happy with her, as well. read more

I have been a loyal member of Massage Envy in the East Valley now for over 7 years and I have recently found a great therapist, Jennifer, who does an amazing job of listening to the problems that I have with trigger points and has done a wonderful job of correcting the problem. Jennifer does a great job with Deep tissue massages and I would recommend her as an excellent massage therapist to anyone and everyone. She is a true professional and very personable and listens to all my problems and adjusts the treatment accordingly. I currently do Mixed Martial Arts and have had 2 back surgeries and a recent shoulder surgery and she is a big reason why I am on track on getting back to grappling, kick boxing, and MMA. Really disappointed about the lack of front desk staffs knowledge reagrding cancellation . I went in to Fuschia In July to cancel my membership (which I had become member before they opened ) but due to distance of where I live and hours they are open , as I work when they are open, and they are closed when I am off )I asked to cancel my membership. I had not used the spa previously for the past 5 months ..and yes had accululated services that are unused. I was told no problem consider it cancelled , but feel free to use the services..I have not used any of the services in almost a year, yet keep getting charges . Finally I am being mailed the cancellation forms and still being charged for the last 6 months even tho' I went in to have it cancelled. I have referred a number of current members.. based ont this last experience , I no longer will. read more

I remember know why I quit going to Massage envy. I recently received a gift card for my birthday for a hot stone massage at ME. I had never had one of these types of massages and was looking forward to it. I scheduled the appt for 330 on Monday 8/26. I arrived at ME at 3:15 as they had suggested to fill out paperwork. When I arrived they told me I was already late and the appt was for 3:00. I let them know that I was told 3:30 as I would only see a female therapist and she wasn't available until 3:30pm. After being told that I would only be receiving a 60 minute session instead of the 90 minutes since I was late and they had another appt. Since they already had my card number, if I just left they would charge the card anyways. I filled out the paperwork and went back with the therapist. Once in the room she explained very nicely what she was going to do and then left for me to get undressed. After waiting for 8 minutes in the room, I was not at a point that I was completely irritated and started to get up to leave. At that moment the therapist came back in. She started putting the hot stones on my back, after a few stones were put on my back she told me they were too hot and she needed to leave to get some cold water. She left the room and at that point the stones started burning my back. She returned a few minutes later and I mentioned they were too hot so laid down another towel on my back. I have never had a hot stone massage, but I assumed that since it includes the word massage there would some sort of massage. Instead she barely rubbed those hot stones over me for the next 45 minutes, no massage whatsoever, and barely any pressure. After she was done, she left the room and at that point I was so irritated I quickly got dressed. I could hear her outside the door waiting and I was probably in the room alone no more than 30 seconds. I came outside and she pointed me to the exit. When I walked up front the asst manager asked how my experience was and I relayed my disappointment. She then went into a sales pitch about their membership program. I told her no thank you. She then opened up a brochure that was from the therapist that outlined the therapists recommendations based on our session. I looked at the asst manager and asked how this could have been done after my session since once the therapist left the room I heard her outside and was in the room for no more than 30 seconds. I questioned how there was time for her to complete this recommendation, bring it up front and return with water in 30 seconds. The manager looked at me, as if she was caught in the act. I am assuming that the 8 minutes I spent laying there to begin the session was when the therapist filled out the recommendation. Nice job there, filling out my recommended plan based on my session before the session even began! The asst manager moved on and gave me the total price, which by the way I received no discount for the shortened session even when I asked. I paid using the gift card I received and I still left a tip. At that point the asst manager again when into the "we have a membership plan" script again. I declined and left. Why the hell would I pay every month to have that crappy service? There is a silver lining in all of this. My wife scheduled an appt later that same night with Touch of Tranquility in Gilbert, the place we normally go. They sent me a confirmation email 30 minutes later (maybe take notice of that business practice Massage Envy) and I had, as usual, a fantastic massage. Just made me remember why I go to Touch of Tranquility, a much better experience and not a rip off. read more
