She works at this location and gives the BEST deep tissue massage I've ever had. I see her one a month for 90 minutes, but have to book a ways out, for she books up quick! I have always been skeptical of massage envy. However, today I tried it out. I'm 7 months pregnant and couldn't take the back and leg pain anymore. They were very professional and knowledgeable. I was very pleased with the service. The only thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars is their membership program. It does not make sense to me to pay 50 a month for a "free" massage and discounts. I don't agree with the business plan behind this scheme. That does not have anything to do with the people that work there though and I did enjoy the service. If they ever revamp the "program" I may decide to return. read more

This was my first visit to Massage Envy thanks to my lovely friend who treated me to a massage for my birthday. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience at all. Immediately after getting situated on the massage table, the therapist began talking about memberships and purchases and continued to do so for the entire hour appointment. Not only was it annoying, but it was stressful and not relaxing to hear about this even after I had told her that I have terrible anxiety and was just wanting to relax. She gave me a great massage, but ultimately my experience was ruined because she literally would not stop talking the entire time. I understand it's probably protocol for employees to push memberships, but maybe that should have been done AFTER the massage, not during. My experience was so terrible I will not be returning here. read more

I have chronic muscle pain and joined Massage Envy Arrowhead a number of years ago. They have many awesome therapists. You cannot go wrong with Alana, Lucinda or Robin. They ask you what you would like to focus on and continue to check to see the pressure they use is appropriate throughout the session. I have found the front desk to be helpful in identifying therapists who they believe will meet my needs if one of my favorites is not available. I just left massage envy very unhappy with the front desk and probably won't return. I was given a 90 min gift certificate and once I finished the session and gave the front desk my certificate, the girl shocked me by telling me I owed another $83 because I was not a member. I reminded her it was a 90 min gift certificate! She said she would write it off this time but for some made up reason, I still owed $8. I'm so unhappy with myself because I paid it. What A scam! I go to this massage envy and I love it. I get their hot stone massage almost every time. My therapists name is Lucinda and she is great. I'm told she is know for "deep tissue" work. But I requested that she use firm pressure on me instead and she actually listened!! I love her massages. She is great and so is the friendliness of the staff. I was even talked into a facial and it was amazing. The woman who did my facial was named Yvette and she was amazing. I was so relaxed I fell asleep twice. read more

This place never disappoints the service that they give since I joined them last year. Today I had a 90 minute session with a therapist who i think has really good tattoos. I think her name was Trish. She was very friendly, kind, and caring. Right away she wanted to know what was wrong so I told her that my lower back and right foot were bugging me. She applied deep pressure and was very phenomenal with her skills. Her hands felt like angel hands and she kept everything on point. From now on i think i will only request her to be my therapist. I dont really like to jump from therapist to another but she works absolutely better than my last one. 100 thumbs up for this lady for sure read more

I originally went to massage envy for my migraines. My very first massage the lady completely pressured me into doing the membership. So of course, I did. Well the membership is $60 a month for 1 massage per month not including tip. The massage itself is only 50 mins (which was never explained to me) and the contract is 12 months!! The lady who signed me up said I could cancel at any time (which was also falsely explained to me). So now I'm stuck in this year long membership that I cannot afford to pay. The massages are decent. Definitely not worth $70-$80!!! The assistant manager Mara was very apologetic and helpful about my situation & informed me that the lady who signed me up is no longer there (thank god). 60 minute facial, more like 40 minutes. The esthetician would talk about each product she was using. Kept turning on the faucet to rinse her hands, heard all the pumps and clicks of the bottles. I barely even felt her touching my face, I get it's a facial, yet there should still be pressure applied. During the mask portion, about 10 min, she told me she was filling out my paperwork. Shouldn't you be massaging the arms and hands, 5 min each side. I mean beauty school students do a better job from the one I just had. Very disappointing. Instead of leaving calm and relaxed, I left with a bigger headache and irritation. The only reason I went in was because of a GC I got. Not even worth it to use the rest of it. I purchased a membership about five+ years ago for my disabled daughter. She had the same therapist each time...Elizabeth. Elizabeth is great and attended to my daughters unique needs. No complaints there. BUT....apparently there is a rule in the fine print that was not verbally told to us. If you accrue several massages, then decide to stop the membership, they will not allow you to use the massages you already paid for. In our case it was over $300 worth. They accrued after my daughters shoulder replacement. They did freeze the account for six months, but with a year of rehab, more massages accrued. After frustrating negotiation, we ended up working it out with me using up some of the massages and they waived the last few months of membership payments so we could catch up and quit. There is a class act lawsuit against this franchise for just this situation. We received a letter concerning the issue. read more

I had a facial & massage on Tuesday June 13th. They were both great! The massage therapist Pilar was good. The pressure was as I requested med to hard and it was relaxing! The aesthetician Marcie was also very good. She had very soft hands and a soft touch. She was very knowledgeable & thorough in her explanation of the facial & products! I would have given this 5 stars but the price has become so ridiculous! $95 dollars for an hour massage is seriously crazy! Highway robbery if you ask me! I did have a gift card I had received for mothers day with a free facial but still crazy expensive. Yeah I was offered to become a member for a monthly fee of $65 which to me is still pricey! I have been to this location before & have never seen the same therapist or aesthetician or staff. Although these 2 ladies were great, I would be willing to go elsewhere for these services where as a new customer I will receive an intro rate. With the few times a year that I do receive these services, it will be worth it and by the time I get back to massage envy, I will be a new customer to them too & receive the new customer rate again! read more

They were able to accomodate 5 of us in with short notice on Labor Day. 2 of my friends from LA signed up for membership, and I might just do the same here in San Diego. First Time at a Massage Envy and Never going back. A couple months ago I had made an appointment for a 2 hour deep tissue massage with extras. I had been given a nice gift card from my husband to unwind because I had back and leg issues. I'm a mother/foster parent of 7 kids and my time is scheduled out so that I can attend my appointment. I get to my appointment and had to fill out paperwork and then waited for 10 minutes because I always arrive early. Then after making me wait they then tell me my therapist that they scheduled me for is too pregnant to do deep tissue. Then I get told if I can wait a half hour I will be able to still have a massage but it won't be two hours. They then tell me they will pay for the extras like the sugar scrub I had originally wanted. I decide to stay even though I'm very disappointed having only made my appointment days prior and it's hard for me to reschedule and get a sitter again. How is it that a pregnant woman's schedule is complicated to sort out for your clients? My therapist was good so at least that went well. I proceed to check out and there is a high pressure sales pitch to join. In my opinion why do you high pressure someone when you have screwed up their entire experience. I didn't complain or get upset with anyone while I was there just frustrated at the whole unprofessional experience and couldn't wait to leave. After paying with my gift card I didn't look at my total because I had more than enough to cover everything on my card and have another massage. I get home to see they charged me for my extras they said they would cover. I have no desire to go back and use my gift card because now I'm told that since I'm not a member my prices are higher because when I went the first time I had an intro rate....forget it..... Awful and unprofessional. Having had many massages in my lifetime I don't recommend this company to anyone. read more

I recently had an hour and a half massage about three weeks ago, and it was wonderful. However, I went back in the other day for an hour massage and was extremely disappointed. My appointment was for 11:15. The massage therapist didn't come get me until 11:20. I then get to the room and undress. She leaves me in there for almost 10 minutes. She finally comes back in and starts the massage. It was so mediocre - it was not satisfying at all and mostly felt like she was just rubbing in the lotion. It was a full body massage and she didn't even go near my feet, which is the best part. She then says she's done and leaves so I can get dressed. I look at the clock--it's 12:15. What the heck?! Definitely not a 60 minute massage, how frustrating. I go to pay and was very shocked to hear that the massage was $79. When I had gone just three weeks before, the 90 minute massage was $59. This doesn't make sense at all! The cashier says that last time I was given the introductory price because I was new to massage envy, which is odd because I've been here numerous times. Doesn't even make sense! This was the worst experience ever and I will certainly not go back. What a complete waste of money!!! read more
