DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BUY A MEMBERSHIP HERE!!! Due to a family emergency my mother was not able to use the monthly credits. Turns out we have over $1K worth of credits. When I called in October the manager assured me that if I filled out a form, they would freeze my account for 6 months and that I would only have to pay $20 per month during that time. She offered this so that my mother would have time to use the credits. I signed and sent the form back. The next month I noticed only $20 came out so I assumed they were honest. Come to find out today, the very next month after that they went back to charging me $75/mo. I was charged $75 for Dec, Jan, and Feb. When I called to ask they said that manager explained it wrong and that she no longer works there and the only thing they could do was send me a new form to sign saying I could pay $20 for 6 months to allow time to use the credits. They will not refund me. Somehow, they find this to be an acceptable response. I tried to call corporate, but they don't have an option for you to speak with a human. Only to leave a voicemail or email. I am FUMING! read more

I was a member and visited this location every month for over nine years. A couple of years ago it was bought by a new ownership group and they drove this place into the ground. The facility is lacking and they treated their employees horribly, so I observed. I was a very loyal member until they drove my therapist Mike out the door. He was phenomenal, had experience with NFL teams as a therapist and really knew his stuff. He was in super high demand and I am so grateful that I recently found him at Evolution Body Works. I am canceling my membership here because ME Harbour Village and ME Jax Beach have just gone completely down the toilet. Wish corporate would realize this! read more

I had a terrible experience at this place and won't be returning. It was two of the worst massage experiences I've ever had. I had a gift card. The counter staff didn't make me feel welcome at all and even forgot about me in the lounge, which cut into my appointment time. The massage therapist asked some inappropriate questions that made me uncomfortable and then made me feel worse by saying they don't work with guys anymore. This information could have been handled better with the booking staff and not me the client. Pricing was unclear and not explained during my first visit. I still had money left on my gift card is the only reason I came twice. My second visit wasn't much better; I requested a therapist with a heavier touch, but they barely applied any pressure, and both times, they focused on my legs instead of my requested areas, which were my neck and back. I love this place. I must say the atmosphere is calming and smells great :). I usually just book with whomever is available, but from now on I will always request Mike. I had the best massage ever. He actually LISTENED to me and focused on the areas that I told him about. Sometimes people just rub, rub, rub.. like they never heard what I asked them to focus on... so I was very thankful that he listened. I am going again tomorrow, which is only like four days from my last massage. He is that good! My son came with me and had a back facial, and Victoria was great. She was friendly and worked well with my 13 year old. She had good tips for him to improve his skin and we were very appreciative for that. Had a facial with Julie today and it was fantastic. I especially enjoyed the little shoulder and neck massage that came with it. She did a great job, was very informative and made me feel comfortable during the one hour session. Upon entering the establishment, I was greeted promptly and offered something to drink-- water or hot tea. They use MURAD products here. Since this was my first visit I did anticipate getting the post session sales pitch to join for a monthly fee. They were not pushy at all. read more

I got a Massage Envy membership in 2019. At the time, the monthly membership fee was $60. In March 2021, I got an email that Massage Envy was raising the rate to $65, which I found to be reasonable after a few years. In March 2022, Massage Envy raised the rate again, to $70. This time I did not receive any notification, but didn't think too much of it. My massage therapist is excellent, but notification would have been nice. Now in March 2023, shocker, Massage Envy raised the rate yet again, to $75. Again, no notification. Mind you, this is a TWENTY-FIVE percent increase over 3 years, with no notification. I know inflation is bad, but come on. This time, I called to address the issue with management. As a show of good faith, and to keep me as a customer, the woman I spoke to said they would waive the monthly fee for April 2023, which would actually result in me paying the equivalent of $68.75 per month for the year instead of $75. That's all she said, and she apologized for the lack of communication regarding the steady rate increases. I was satisfied with this response and did not cancel. Fast forward to yesterday, and instead of my usual charge of $33 for an extra 30 minutes at the membership rate, my credit card was billed for $98!!! At no time during the check out process did the clerk mention a $98 charge, and I was not asked to sign anything, nor was I asked to confirm any charges. I was completely unaware of the $98 charge until I looked at my account today. I immediately called Massage Envy and was told that one month ago, there was a "chargeback" the day after my regular monthly charge was billed to my account. I was told to call my Massage Envy home office about it, so I did. They told me that the employee that waived my monthly charge THREE MONTHS AGO was no longer employed there and to email the chain of emails with the employee that waived the monthly charge in April to some email address, so I did. The email response I got back was that they think the ex-employee meant to waive both the monthly charge AND the monthly massage service, which, while I am no rocket scientist, makes no sense at all. What purpose would that serve, to waive the fee and also cancel my monthly massage for April? Be serious. This employee proceeded to argue this position with me, again MONTHS after the fact, instead of just reimbursing the money they stole from me. On top of that, they also sent me a cancellation form this time, even though I did not request to cancel my membership. I simply asked for the charges to be corrected. I told them that if I did not have proof of reimbursement of the difference, $65, by 4pm today, that I would start filing complaints. And around 3:45, they told me that the card they have on file expired, which is hilarious since they just charged it excessively yesterday and those charges went through. They have two current cards on file for me, both of which they charge monthly, but they cannot use the same card they charged me without authorization YESTERDAY to refund me? Amazing. I replied to that email and as of now I have no response. There is no telling who else they have stolen money from by schemes like this, and by failing to confirm charges with their customers or by completely failing to even have their customers authorize charges. Don't let this happen to you. Go elsewhere. Massage Envy is nothing but scam artists and thieves. I will now be filing complaints with the BBB and CFPB, among others. It is not that hard to do right by your customers, but they're going to learn today. read more

Horrible experience here. I would not recommend coming to this location. They cancelled my appointment without contacting me and only found out when I arrived. The front desk associate refused to tell me her name or the manager's name or provide contact info for a manager or owner or someone that could ensure that I wouldn't be charged one of my membership credits. The desk associate went to the back to call the assistant manager, Taylor, where I overheard her distorted version while mocking me then hung up with her after over 5 minutes. I asked if i could just speak with Taylor so she called her again in front of me and asked Taylor if she would speak with me and Taylor apparently said no then laughed. Such a bizarre situation and unprofessional. No resolution or offer for any type of store credit or such was offered; not even an apology. Rude, condescending, and guaranteed to speak ill of you once you've turned your back. I personally froze my account due to COVID before anyone reached out to me to do so. Not only was I still charged for that month "because I did it too late and the payment had already processed" but now I'm being told that because I chose to keep my account frozen I cannot even use the service I'VE ALREADY PAID FOR. I headed over here for the Veterans Day special that Massage Envy was hosting. Each other location had a wait list of 50-70+ people and this location had appointments still. I arrived early, filled out my paperwork, and was called in immediately. My masseuse was very skilled and we had a pretty good chat during the duration. Sometimes I like to chat during my massages and other times I don't. I'm glad this time that I had a massueuse that didn't keep me gabbing the whole time. Honestly, my only qualm is that I wish she concentrated more on my back like I had asked. I can't complain too much as it was complimentary, but my back is feeling like I shouldn't have even have gotten one if it wasn't the main focus. In any case, though, she is good at what she does and her style reminds me of the masseuse that I would see when I was stationed in Italy. I will keep her in my mind next time that I'm looking for a massage. read more

Have had nothing but problems with the front desk and management. Front desk is not properly trained and has told me the wrong information about my membership on several occasions. I do not recommend purchasing a membership for yourself or as a gift, stick to a gift card if you must. One of the front desk employees (Jaqueria) told me that I could go ahead and sign the cancellation form ahead of time, that way I'm not charged after my 1 year expires. Come to find out my membership was cancelled 60 days after I signed the form and that front desk employee no longer works there- go figure. They apologized that I was given the wrong information but there is absolutely nothing they can do to return my accrued massages that I already paid for. read more

It's been about 9 years since my last massage and WOW Brianna blew it out of the water. I wanted firm pressure and she definitely knew exactly what I wanted and needed. To have the skill of reading a persons body is very necessary in this industry and Brianna did just that. Not once did I have to ask for any change in pressure or position. She should really get the credit for me signing up for a membership, because I had zero intentions of doing so when I walked into the building. I became a member of Massage Envy several years ago amd have accumulated a lot of points (sessions) so lately I've been trying to catch up and use all of my sessions (or tranfer them). While I'm not fond of the policy regarding transferring credits to friends and family, they have been willing to work with me. As far as Service goes, I have never been disappointed and have always had great massages and facials...some better than others but not a bad one ever. Today I had my second deep tissue massage with Michael and I have to say he's the best massage therapist I have had. I also got a facial, given to me by Emily. She's relatively new to Jacksonville. I have been coming to this location for a couple of years now. For those that are not familiar or not comfortable with getting massages give this place a try. Don't be put off by one or two massages if the results are not what you dreamed of. Every therapist is different and communication with the therapist will only enhance your experience. Don't let them guess what you want. Tell them. You are paying right? Get it the way that you want. They are open 7 days a week so scheduling an appointment is easy. You can even do it online. Pick a time and the website tells you which therapists are available. A couple of clicks and your appointment is set. They have a couples room if you want to share the experience with someone else. They offer facials, foot scrubs, hot stone therapy, etc. There are two waiting rooms. I prefer the one inside where it is dark and you kind of get your mind ready for the massage. There are several varieties of teas, citrus infused water, granola bars, and mints while you wait. Come down and try it. You might end up with a membership like I did. Barely a year in Jax but so far I always have a good experience with Massage Envy - Harbour Village Location. Place is always neat and clean (and smells clean too!). Ambiance is appropriate for the purpose of your visit. Whether it is relaxation, massage, facial, etc. Receptionists are all nice and friendly. Finding your therapist can always be challenging; they can only help you if you tell them your needs and your preferences. I had a couple of not-so-good circumstances-- like my appointment was cancelled twice and had to be rescheduled. It was a bit tough because of the specific deep pressure I need and only a few therapists can render that and i'd had to work my schedule around; but it was more of an unexpected situation and they apologized for any inconvenience because of that. But since it occurred more than once with the same therapist, I wish they could have done more since my appointment got pushed back further than what I anticipated. Other than that, they have always accommodated my needs. The app is very helpful as well. Needs more enhancements though but it serves the purpose. From the time I started on this location I had two therapist and both are excellent. So far I'm sticking to my 2nd one that has a different style that I prefer. read more

Excellent service! I went to this location for a facial and I absolutely loved it! Everyone was so professional and friendly. The esthetician was wonderful! She knew exactly what she was doing and the facial was both soothing on my skin and relaxing for me. Will definitely go again.
