I've been a member of massage envy for over 10 years and started going to the mason location when I moved to Ohio. The massage therapists are 10/10 however the management is 2/10. I have had my massage cancelled on me and various family members 5-7 minutes prior to the appointment as I'm pulling in the parking lot. I could understand if this were to happen once or twice, but this is the 4th time in the last 3 months. As a member if I were to cancel my appointment that close to the appointment time I would be penalized and my credit would be taken, however when they continually do it, I don't even get a "we are sorry". I've lived allover and been to several massage envy's, never experienced one ran like this. I would reccomend trying the westchester location, they are super nice over there and very accommodative. read more

I regret joining the once of month membership. The lady we loved left soon after we joined and afterward it was a seach to find someone that was worth the price. The few that are good are so poplar the are very difficult to get an appointment with. They are all nice people but the quality of the massage is not great. One time I went in asked for full body but focus on the upper back and shoulders. But the whole massage was my lower back and it got really painful and when I realize the whole thing was my lower back I wasn't happy. A few never manage to do a full body massage in an hour. Of course the actual massage it 40 minutes by the time they clean the room and leave you laying on the table waiting. canceling isn't as easy as I'd hope and I was aggrevated that I had to make a separate trip in to sign paperwork. Couldn't just cancel over the phone. Once you cancel only have 30 days to use your built up points. 4 months after I cancelled I get a message that if I didn't come to the appointment I would be charge the full fee and a penality. I called and said I am no a member there and haven't been so for over 4 months. she wanted me to come in and talk to the manager but there was no way. I said I signed the paperwork and finally stopped being billed. I am not a member and have no intention of coming in or paying anything. Plus early on a made the mistake of carrying on conversations with the one doing the message and have found some people can't have a conversation and still do their job. plus it isn't as relaxing as just having that quiet time. So note to self don't do that again. shut up and let them focus on their work. theres alot I wish were different or change: you drive in going behind these building but the sign is only in front so finding it can be tricky. Put a business sign with the same in the back where people are entering. secondly If both my husband and I were members we should be able to share points or appointments without penalty or extra charge. Would like to be able to freeze account for a few months without extra charge as theres times when life doesn't allow the time to go that month. Bottomline is price increased and enjoyment decreased. There were several times I entered fine and left in pain or feeling like it did no good. Tried the hot rock there a few times ... worst hot rock massages I ever had and they admitted they don't like doing them. read more

Save yourself the headache and disappoint- go see Lydia, Abby or Ray at Creative Wellness in Montgomery instead for massage! If I could leave a zero I would! I have been a member for a very long time. I have to say Tiffany (the redhead) is the rudest and laziest "manager" or front desk person I have encountered. There is absolutely NO customer service and no goal for customer retention. Oh, and she has zero personality or care for the customer in a wellness service industry. Only 1 massage therapist fits my needs at this location. He is very difficult to get in with and with limited hours. I work in health care and was running late from the hospital far away from this location. I showed up late but would have still had 63 minutes of my scheduled 90 minute massage. No one called or sent a text to check why I was late or where I was?? I was driving and could not google to call or text. When I arrived, running in the door. They informed me, the therapist had left and I was charged for all 90 minutes when I could have received at least 63minutes of the massage. No care, no compassion. I have worked with them multiple times when my therapist has canceled last minute due to illness, or family emergency. Was I ever offered any service or monetary compensation for my time? NO. This place only wants to get you on the hook for your monthly fee and could care less about you as a customer. Do better as a consumer and support small business people that actually care about you! If I could give you a ZERO I would! Needless to say, I will NEVER go back to a massage envy. What a scam!!!! read more

Relaxation would be an understatement!! This place is so convenient and they truly listen to you on what you want. I don't like too much pressure so they always check to make sure I'm ok!! I get the best sleep here when I do he massage and even the facials. I have had a facial burn me before but the experts at massage envy are very careful to ensure your skin is well cared for. I noticed they have a new service that deals with stretching your body. I am excited to try it out and can't wait. Prices are reasonable and I love the fact that you can accumulate your massage points which means I never lose them. Over ten years ago my hubby and I went to a massage envy in Florida and had a great experience but we never took the step to join the membership. Now, we finally took the plunge and I am so happy we did!! Guess what, I can use my points at any massage envy and recently I used the perk where I transferred points to give my daughters their first massage experience!! Let me just start by saying that I'm a huge fan of massage! I've had C spine fusion and still have a lot of bulging disc and stenosis it's referred to as degenerative disc disease. I've been looking for a massage therapist for a couple years now and I've tried out more than I'd like to even count in the Cincinnati area. I had a gift card given to me by my boss for my birthday I saw that they had some bad reviews on yelp but so I was a little skeptical. First of all no 60 minute massage is 60 minutes because you have to get dressed and undressed that's customary! I chose Frank for a deep tissue massage and I was not disappointed! It literally is the best massage I've ever had in my entire life. Most massage therapist just don't get deep into that facia to release tension in the muscles ease pain as well as relaxation. Most therapist have a tendency to stay gentle and stick with just simply relaxation and that's definitely not what I need. Within minutes of starting the massage I knew that I would be back and then I may have found my permanent massage therapist! I could not be more excited... Scheduled my next weeks massage before I left today! Do yourself a favor call massage envy give Frank a chance I promise you won't be sorry!! I was wholly unimpressed and quite let down by my experience here. I did some searching on Yelp without much luck, and had about the same with Google Maps business search. This place seemed professional, was close by and had a good discount rate published online, I was in dire need and thought I would give it a shot. When I called, the young gentleman I spoke with seemed more interested in a sales pitch that sounded well worn and was therefore less than compelling. He was unhelpful and didn't seem that interested in fitting me in that day because it was going to be the last spot and I got the distinct impression that they were hoping to go home early. I was told to arrive 20 minutes early for my appointment because I would need to fill out "medical paperwork." As it turned out, I needed about 5 minutes and the medical paperwork was a cheesy, fake questionnaire that was clearly designed to probe you for information that could be used to sell you on a course of future visits. I was rather insulted and didn't particularly feel like giving them some of the personal information they requested. When I got to the massage room, I felt like I was in a generic office building that had been rapidly repurposed, with the intent to provide the slightest indication of a massage spa necessary on a minimum budget. This included a rather glaring, and awkward light fixture that forced me to keep my eyes closed the entire time I was on my back. The person who did my massage seemed nice enough and friendly, but I felt like the constant questions were distracting and were meant to lead towards purchasing more massages. The table was at least heated and they did put a bolster under my knees while I was on my back and under my ankles while I was on my stomach. The massage itself was reasonably successful for the discounted price, but I was not wanting to hurry back. As I left, I was put through a high pressure sales pitch before I was allowed to pay. I had to say no several times. The sales person didn't even seem particularly interested in the sales pitch, like he was just going through the motions. I was told that if I didn't sign up for a monthly payment plan on the spot, I would later have to pay a sign up fee. I started to wonder if they were actually selling time shares and I didn't even realize it. They hand you a goofy little prescription slip with a recommended return date for regular massage. I suppose if you are willing to sign a contract, pay a monthly fee, put up with the rough decor and atmosphere, have an average massage by a cookie cutter masseuse, then this is your place. Started going here earlier this year. I went ahead and did the annual membership. Happy to report that they did let me put it on hold when I had a rough month. As for the massages, it is a very personal experience and like many things your experience will vary depending on your needs, wants and the technique of the individual therapist. I never requested the same one because while they were all good, none were just right for me until yesterday. It was the first time in years since I had a male therapist and at first I want sure. I must say Jason was very respectful and cautious. He also was very honest about his certification techniques. He always started fairly gentle but was attuned to my muscles responses to his work and would work them deeper as needed. At the end of my hour I did not hurt, he didn't leave my lower back to achy to get off the table and I genuinely felt great afterwards. I have been a member of their massage club for quite awhile. It is well worth the price. You can't go wrong with a facial either. Their facility is very clean and cozy. Nicole is amazing. I scheduled one of the introductory deep tissue massages a few weeks ago. The price was very reasonable ($45 for 1hr), however I did not feel like it was worth it. I did not feel more relaxed afterwards and did not feel as if any of the knots I had were removed. The pricing program requires you to pay a monthly fee and then get a slightly discounted price for massages. I would not return. read more

I have been having massages for 23 years, so my expectations are very high.I had a membership here for a full year after getting quarterly massages. Once I did the math, it made more sense to just get a membership. I found the decor to be very relaxing in the inner waiting area , where there is filtered/UV water and high quality tea and comfy chairs. The masaage rooms have adjustable lighting which dims and the music can be adjusted for you. You can even bring your own music player. Kim and Erika do great light pressure work! For deep pressure, Tiffany will get out ALL of your knots! She's a magician at how she can find them. I tried many therapists , probably 8 different ones and all were professional. Only once did someone mention that they were not "used to being asked to do such light pressure". Also, my all time favorite left for a location closer to her home. This location always worked me in to my appointments last minute - whether I had a membership or not; and I was almost always last minute! Occasionally , on a Sunday night - yes: the front staff can act too relaxed, especially if you took the last appointment of the day, but overall the staff has been very kind and very professional towards me. If you are kind with management, they will take care of any concerns that you might have. I do not regret my membership and only did not renew because I changed jobs and didn't make as much money. There were two massage spas in the Mason/Landen area that went out of business in the past 8 years and this one has maintained. That says something - ya know? read more

This is a good place for people who are looking for a good massage without all the high end spa amenities. I've been getting massages for 30 years, and this is no better or worse than any indepenedent massage therapists' office. Once you have stated your preference for the type of massage, try a few different therapists known for that (in my case, I like deep tissue, so Jessica, Jim, Mike are all good). The best thing is that I can almost always call and find one of them with availability that same day, which is hard to do with private massage therapists. Their monthly massage plan that they sell is actually a great deal for people who get regular massages, although if you don't get regular massages, I can see that the pitch would be annoying. read more

Massage therapists are okay. I have been a member for about a year and have seen numerous therapists there. Some are better than others and I do currently go to one regularly that I really do like. The inside of the salon is very pretty and calming. The people at the front desk are always very friendly and have a smile on there face which is a nice touch. Unfortunately, the biggest issue is that I will go in for a 1 hour massage (this is what you pay for in your membership) and I will actually only be on the table for about 40 minutes. They come out to get you at your appointment time then give you 10 minutes to get undressed and on the table before coming in to start and then they stop 10 minutes early so you can get dressed and they can clean the room up for the next client. That is a lot of minutes you pay for to get a massage and aren't actually getting it. During the year I have been a member I have experimented with other massage places and have found that they are not all like this. Many of them actually give you the time you are paying for. If you ask for an hour they will acutally give you an hour. There is even a knew place in Montgomery that is offering the same "membership plan" and they don't book clients back to back so that they are able to actually give you a full hour when you go. As this was my biggest issue with Massage Envy it is the reason I am not continuing with my membership ans will not recommend them to friends/family. I think they really need to be more client focused and not so focused on the bottom line and moving as many people through per day as possible. read more

Wow! I have been having major stress and TMJ issues. I called massage envy and explained my issues. Michelle, the person I talked with on the phone, recommended I book an appointment what Beth. When I arrived, I was politely greeted, filled out some paperwork and then met Beth. She listened to my concerns and immediately went to work on my jaw, shoulders and back. I feel like a new person. She really knew the techniques and stretching to help my jaw relax. I can't say enough good things! I met with Talia after my appointment and she was so very helpful explaining the massage membership package. It's such an amazing deal - you'd be a fool to not sign up for it. I can use my health savings account benefits to pay for my membership and every month I can get a massage. Plus, I can go in between my monthly visits for only $45 for a hour massage!
