Over the past few months, my appointments have been canceled the same day THREE separate times. That alone shows a serious lack of respect for clients' time. But today was the final straw -- my scheduled 80-minute service was cut down to 50 minutes because their employee was late. Instead of making it right, they refused to adjust any appointments after mine to accommodate the full service I had booked. At this price point, I expect professionalism, reliability, and basic customer care. Repeated cancellations and cutting services short without resolution is unacceptable. Very rude. I made an online reservation as my boyfriend got me a very expensive gift card for my birthday this year. Upon arrival they had no account of my reservation despite email confirmation. I told them I could reschedule however they insisted and i was eventually taken back. However once taken back i felt rushed and in no way relaxed they told me to quickly put on my robe and come out as my appointment had "already started". I'm giving it 3 stars SOLELY for how amazing my masseuse was she was so kind and did a fantastic job in relaxing me and making me feel pampered. Upon leaving they then made me talk to one of their IT people who scolded me in the waiting room in front of other customers about how I did the online booking wrong despite receiving an email confirming my appointment. The massage with Jen was amazing. Definitely worth the money. The facial with Brandi is just something I would not pay for again. The dermaflash is not worth the $60 add on that I paid for it. There's parts of my face that are still fuzzy. It felt very rushed. And the facial itself didn't relax me. Just felt like there were a bunch of different creams that were put on my face and some hand movements and that's it. Super frustrating and disappointing and not worth the money spent on it. I spent $500 yesterday for both services after tip. Overall the environment is relaxing. They give you robes and drinks. Well, I don't usually leave neutral reviews but I must say this was a slightly disappointing experience. I did put all these comments on a corporate survey as well. And I feel for the people who work there who are lovely and friendly. I had a very pricey pedicure which was good and the spa professional who did it was lovely, friendly and sweet. And it's not at all her fault that the length was short, I'm sure it's a corporate timing thing but for the price I've had longer pedicures at those storefront nail places. But the main reason I was so blah on the experience is the "quiet waiting room". The room is insufficient in size, lacking in any comfortable seating and overall very disappointing. Waiting in there with 4 people pre-service was slightly awkward, not enough room to spread out and distance from each other room. No door on the room so the light from the hallway and the noise would interfere if you could get comfortable. But getting comfortable would be impossible unless you like sitting bolt upright. They need a bigger space and some reclining seats, plus magazines or a suggestion on your booking email to bring your own book or reading material. And I at least didn't have to sit there in a robe or try to prolong the spa experience by spending a day or half day there. I feel like the price is comparable to names like Ritz Carlton and Kohler Waters but the atmosphere is not on par with those. The people are lovely, it's too bad that the physical space didn't match the people. read more

I haven't left a review for anything in years, lol, but I had a wonderful first time here today so I just wanted to share my experience! Booked a facial on a whim this morning to treat myself on my day off and ended up doing the soothing and strengthening facial with Brandi. I haven't had a facial in yeeeeeears, so I know my skin was a little rough. She was amazing, super sweet and knowledgeable, was able to help me out and give me recommendations for products to incorporate into my routine + recommendations for future facials. Not to mention the facial was great, plus with the arm/foot massage and hot towels I almost fell asleep. The rest was great too: front desk, facilities, the fancy fruit water that made it all feel very pampering. I had a great experience, will definitely be back! The essence of this place is just pure relaxation from beginning to end. This was my first experience at a spa and it was absolutely great. When I first arrived I was given a robe and shoes and they took my drink order (choices were wine, champagne, mimosa, water, coffee or tea). I was taken to the women's dressing room/locker room (complete with showers and all you need) which was absolutely beautiful. They offer you your own locker which is nice to store your personal items in. Afterwards they give you your drink (I got a mimosa which was one of the best I've ever had)! They escort you to the "quiet room" where you can relax and/or read current magazines and wait for them to come bring you back for your service. I received a 50min pedicure and a 80min massage. The pedi was awesome. We went into our own room so we don't have to hear anyone else's chatter. The girl did a great job too - and also offered me a refill on my mimosa! The massage was good, I fell asleep through most of it so I'm assuming I was relaxed! The only downfall to this place was that it was cold in the massage rooms and the prices are very steep! So thankful for my gift card :) I think I would come back but only for a very special occasion. FYI-park in the garage underneath the building and take the elevator up. Today I spent 5 glorious hours at The Woodhouse Day Spa receiving services. It was, as I expected, a truly stellar experience. It's always a pleasure to slip into those comfy Woodhouse robes and settle in front of the fireplace with a glass of champagne. Every time one of the attendants comes to the door and announces a name, it's like Christmas morning. It's like being picked first for dodgeball. It's like being the cool kid. And at Woodhouse Day Spa, EVERYbody gets to be the cool kid. I never get tired of the heated tables, the aromatherapy, or the scented/heated neck pillows. I never get tired of having great service providers, being able to giggle with complete strangers, or falling asleep during massages. Stop researching other day spas in the area and just go here. I don't normally write reviews but the review by Susie G was so ridiculous that I had to write my experience as a person of color & working class so that others are not dissuaded by baseless accusations. I have been a special occasion client of theirs for 5 years, I would go more if my budget allowed it. I have been to Montgomery the most but have visited other locations. Every time I have visited the staff have been on point and if anything was not Ritz perfect, as soon as I mentioned the issue it was resolved with gusto. I would highly recommend the couples massage to all couples looking and if offered, pay the extra for double therapists per person, it's the closest to heaven you will come and your body will feel great for several days after. I've experienced Woodhouse Day Spa quite a few times and feel I am able to provide a fair and accurate review. Upon entering, I've always been immediately greeted and taken to the women's room to change. As other yelpers have mentioned, no matter what time of day you choose to have a massage (my last one was in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday), you will likely find it hard to have a fully private experience while changing due to the lack of space. It's almost better to just change in the open due to there only being a few bathrooms and changing rooms available. Once you are ready, you are expected to wait in the quiet room, which typically is a lack there of due to the amount of people booked at one time. This didnt bother me, but I can see where others relying on a completely peaceful experience would not prefer it. Despite all of this, my massages have actually been pretty great. On my most recent visit, I experienced the 2 hour "Woodhouse Escape", which includes a body scrub, stone massage, full body massage with emphasis put on the neck and shoulders, and reflexology performed on the feet. I was pleased with their ability to listen to the type of pressure I wanted, checking periodically if it was ok and also move slow, allowing me to fully enjoy my time. With all things considered and the massage being the most important part for me, I would go back and would also recommend as long as you dont mind a bit of noise and limited space prior to your service. read more

Service: Deep Tissue Massage I made an appointment for this afternoon for massage after experiencing sore body from previous bad massage that I received at a national massage franchise. I had a male massage person, but that didn't matter as I was expecting a best quality massage since I have had good experience there previously and it's Woodhouse. They are suppose to be better than other local businesses, that is why they can charge higher prices than other places. Service: I told the technician about my previous bad experience and what I didn't want in the massage. He ended up doing the techniques which I said I didn't want because it's annoying and painful! Unfortunately I couldn't wait to be done with the massage. I had more relaxation in the post-massage hot shower then I did during the massage. I was uncomfortable the entire time. Environment: Previous times I had been there for other services, I had an exceptional service including hot neck wrap along with robe and slippers. This time no hot neck wrap was offered! Wine tasted cheap and gross. Out of the two showers available, I was lucky enough to be able choose quieter one (other one ceiling fan was extremely loud!). There were dirty cups lying every where. you could hear people talking in the hallway. Price: $$$$ Wood house day Spa chains can be pricey, but most of the time their exceptional service, quiet, relaxing space, and quality service can be worth paying more. Sadly, this was not the case this time. This service was not worth the money and time I spent! I went in with great expectations and I came out with headache and exhaustion. If I was rating my experience solely on the pedicure I received I would give it 5 stars, Shay was wonderful. Unfortunately I am not very happy with my overall experience. I scheduled my pedicure online and hours before my appointment I was called and told that they had to cut my pedicure short because I scheduled online. I even received a confirmation email for the original pedicure I scheduled so I'm not sure what the problem was. Online booking should not be open if it does not work properly. It sounds like my appointment was changed because I am the one that booked online instead of the person after my appointment with the conflicting time slot. I already had childcare scheduled so I was not able to reschedule my appointment, even though they didn't give me that option. They offered no other time slot , or any sort or discount for their mistake. At the very least they should have called me last week instead of same day. I'm not sure if I will be returning. The pedicure I booked was a special treat for me since I was using a gift card I received for my first Mother's Day. I'm disappointed with the lack of costumer service here. read more

To put it in simplest terms...amazing! Wonderful. Heaven on earth! I'm originally from Cincinnati. I was born here, but raised just outside Binghamton NY. I also lived in the Cincinnati area from 2004-2011 and still come down to visit my extended family regularly. Last year, my granddad passed on at age 92. Due to covid restrictions, we really weren't able to get all of the family together for his burial. So, we decided to have a Memorial Mass for him this year, at Saint Claire's in College Hill. I decided with all the chaos and drama of the past year, I've earned myself a day of me time. So, I scheduled their Woodhouse Experience package, aka the works. Now, some of you may be thinking "what kind of man schedules himself a spa day?" My answer to that is quite simple. A man who cares about his well-being and self care. There's nothing wrong with a massage to calm the nerves, or a facial to keep the skin young. So, I arrived bright and early around 8:40ish since I was to get the ball rolling at 9. I was warmly greeted by an incredibly sweet concierge whose name I cannot recall and feel horrible for that. She got me my robe and sandals and directed me to the men's locker room. I got myself robed up and ready for some serious pampering. I also picked my choice for my lunch from Stone Creek. We began with their Aromatherapy Bath Cure. In simplest terms, it's a soak in a warm, old school style tub with some amazing essential oils added. Pure Heaven! I will admit that I couldn't quite stretch all the way out in the tub, but, that's not Woodhouse's fault. Those tubs are made for normal size folks, not 6'6" Sasquatches like me. Still, it totally set the mood. After that, we did the signature 4 hand massage, administered by the lovely Alaina and Sharon. Both of them are superbly skilled in their craft and helped drift me into a blissful state that fluctuated between being in la-la land in my head, or even falling asleep altogether. Amazing! Oh, how it soothed my body and mind! Next up, Minkyti Facial. This is the crown jewel of Woodhouse's skin care services and my personal favorite. Why? Well, not only does it keep the skin young, it also is insanely relaxing. The scalp and shoulder massage that goes with the facial is ALMOST as good at knocking you out peacefully as the the drugs they give you before surgery. Yeah, it's that awesome! Megan, my esthetician, was superb at her craft. After that, it was time for my lunch, which they had delivered from Stone Creek. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with Parmesan fries. Yummy! It also gave me an hour to chill, clear my head, and prep for the final stretch, which was their signature hand treatment and pedicure. Manicure and pedicure are 2 things I've never done. But, they both were amazing. My fingernails (which I've chewed pretty badly since I quit smoking last year) are buffed up pretty nicely, and my dry as a desert feet feel smoother already. Kudos to Josette and Amber on their work as well. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd rate today about a 25. Woodhouse is a shining example of a great spa. Amazing service, fabulous atmosphere, and a wonderful staff. I hope that next time I'm in town that I'll be able to duck in for something. Maybe a quick massage or another facial. My bosses got me a gift certificate to Woodhouse for Christmas and I was SO excited! I've heard so many good things about it and I found exactly what I was going to get right: The Lazy Day Renewal Ritual. When I arrived, I checked in at the front desk and they asked me for my slipper size and walked me to the women's room where I was given a robe and slippers (plastic not fuzzy, probably easier to clean) and was told to come out whenever I was ready. Once I was done changing I came out and someone guided me to the lounge and had a drink. Very cozy area while you wait to be brought back to your room.Then, Kathryn came to get me and she explained the Lazy Day Renewal Ritual service which includes a 45 minute massage followed by a seaweed scrub and a soak in the beautiful claw foot tub. Kathryn was great during the massage. I just wanted to relax and she understood that and wasn't chatty at all which I appreciate. I thought I loved the massage part but then she started the seaweed scrub part and WOW it felt amazing! After that, she had me soak in the tub for about 20 minutes which was nice and relaxing and finished my wine. (It's funny because at first, I thought a sushi place must be near by because of the smell--ends up it was the real seaweed soaking in the tub for me! HA!). Enjoyed a 80 minute massage from Mandy on Saturday, a few co-workers treated me to a gift card for the holiday and was a wonderful treat. Mandy specializes in medium pressure Swedish massage and did a great job focusing on my head & neck where had tons of pressure. Felt fantastic. The spa was busy on Saturday morning, lots of people coming in & out, my only note to point out is at times it was hard to concentrate in the room due to all of the noise out in the hallway. read more
