I have been going to this location for years and despite the recent price increases I still find great value in my membership. I only book facials with Laura. She is extremely professional and can provide all services, even chemical peels. She has an amazing personality and is an excellent aesthetician. They sell Jan Marini products which in my opinion are the best facial products available. I hope that they open again soon (had water damage from a pipe burst during the freeze) because driving to the other location in Hamburg is not convenient at all. read more

I mean, in all honesty, it's really disappointing all the way around. First of all, do SOMETHING to make me want to be there 30 minutes early. There is literally no reason to show up even 5 minutes before your massage, unless you want to be sold something. Second, can you please just stop upselling me? Let's take the massage gun, for example. Like, umm, why exactly would I pay extra for that? I'm seriously confused. First of all, if the masseuse is good, they're going to be a lot better than a massage gun. Second, the massage gun is going to make it easier for the masseuse so I'm a little perplexed that I have to pay extra for something that makes YOUR job easier. But it's not just that. They try to upsell you on everything to the point where it's just weird, awkward, cringe, whatever you want to call it. In the immortal words of Michael Jordan, "Stop! Get some help!" I have to request that I not be sold on anything, and they still do it. But the real issue are the masseuses. They're seriously just not great. Massage Envy is really cheap, and you get what you pay for. Like I honestly don't think the best massage I've gotten there is as good as the worst at other places I've been. My wife and I had a couples massage scheduled for a Monday morning. Unfortunately I got sick during the night prior to our appointment. I called at 9 AM asking to reschedule and they said they were going to charge me $75 for missing the appointment. I said I was sick that I wasn't canceling I just wanted to reschedule. Then my wife called and explained that we just wanted to reschedule and if not that she would just come to the appointment. The manager refused to let her come in to at least get one massage. Now they're charging us $150 because the manager said she can't come because she was exposed and that her employees wouldn't get paid. So massage envy is charging me to pay their employees but I receive no service at all. This is terrible customer service and complete thievery. We can understand if we were calling to cancel that there would be a charge, but not to reschedule because of sickness. If you had a dentist or hair appointment and you called to reschedule because you were sick you wouldn't get charged for missing that appointment. Terrible customer service!!! Bought a massage for my boyfriend for Christmas. Had a very hard time booking appointment. First I booked a appointment then called back to verify nobody answered the phone for the rest of the day. The next day found my appointment had been canceled the lady on the phone said the therapist had to help her with something and could not keep the appointment. Called back the next week got a appointment next day got a text saying it was canceled so had to book with a different therapist. I asked for a deep tissue massage for sciatica and my boyfriend said it was just light rubbing. Definitely feel ripped off and upset over all the scheduling issues. Won't return. read more

This was my first time visiting a massage envy in Lexington. I haven't had good experiences with them in the past at other locations, but a good friend of mine told me she really liked her therapist at this location. I met with Joy and she was amazing. She seemed to know just the right amount of pressure to use, communicated when she would be doing something different, and was overall highly professional while still being approachable. Because of her phenomenal service, I decided to get a membership. The building itself was really clean and inviting, nicely decorated, had ample space, and a nice selection of refreshments. Erica, the clinic manager, was also really personable and professional. She helped me to feel a lot more comfortable being there. I'm looking forward to going back next month! read more

I was gifted a massage and decided to use it. There was a ton of confusion and I was called and told the appointment had been cancelled. We had to call the other store and have the manager speak with the manager at this location so she could explain how to do it. Once I got there the manager was very nice and apologetic. The massage therapist was nice and punctual. The massage was just ok. Probably the worst one I've had. The therapist talked the whole time which I'm on the fence about. It doesn't make it very relaxing. The appointment headache wasn't that big of a deal for me but the mediocre massage is a deal breaker. I really didn't feel any more relaxed or better after which is unusual. I have had quite a few massages so to say this was the worst is saying something. read more

So I went to one of the other locations of Massage Envy that was in Hamburg Pavilion Earlier today and tried to purchase a $100.00 Gift Card for a Christmas gift and received Not 1 But 2 Gift Cards !, one card for $25 & one card for $75 ,which is NOT what I wanted . SO WITH with this said I asked to fix the issue and was told they could not fix this . SO I asked for a Manager who proceeded to tell me there was NOTHING they could Do .. SO I Left and went to this Location on Nichlasville Rd .. I arrived and spoke with a Very Nice & Friendly staff member . When I arrived I asked to purchase a $100.00 Gift Card card and asked if I could just pay for it w the 2 Cards I was sold earlier from the Hamburg Location & they said YES OF COURSE !!!!!!! SO I THEN REVIVED WHAT I ORIGINALLY WANTED A $100.00 GIFT CARD ...It amazes me how one location can be sooooo helpful and friendly and accommodating when the other locations said THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO!!!! Just ok. Not an overly inviting environment to walk into. The ambiance is great, but for example no one greeted me when I came in. I was ignored for the first few minutes. I wandered looking for where I was supposed to be for a bit. For what I paid for and what I've experienced at other Massage Envy's and other spas, this one was sub-par, including the stretch and massage. The person who gave me the massage was very nice, personable, and friendly, which is the only reason I'm not giving 2 stars. I was skeptical about the quality of the massage I would get here Bc I'm always skeptical about massage chain places. When I called to make an appointment the staff was very friendly and quickly found me an appointment that was asap. Once I arrived, the atmosphere was very tranquil and staff again very friendly and professional. I did a 60 min session with Nicole: it was FREAKIN AMAZING!! I was seriously stunned about how good it was. She was super attentive, listened to my complaint areas and was really able to give me the exact pressure and massage I needed. I left seriously relaxed and feeling like jelly I was so loose and stress free. I will def be coming back to this location and would recommend it to my friends. I've had great experiences in other cities with Massage Envy, but this specific location seems to be less customer oriented and that's disappointing. I'm big fan of the stretch sessions they offer, but it's been challenging working with the front desk to find times to get it. They also seem to be highly inflexible in working to put customer interests first when it comes to session. For example, they might have a person for hour massage or stretch but they won't allow you to do half stretch and half massage. Stuff like this, maybe you have an hour credit but just want 45 minute massage. If you tell them this at booking they won't let you book it! I tried to explain they can use an hour credit I'll pay/tip whatever for an hour time but just need to leave early. Nope. They are just incredibly rigid with corporate rules and that totally takes precedent to what customer prefers. So it's challenging to get in at times and they really don't work with any creativity to provide services best suited to individual needs. It just doesn't work well for us. read more

I just wanted to get me a massage for my birthday. I recommend a massage and be because I had been a member in the past but had to cancel on membership due to health reasons. I have now been cleared from my doctor to get massages again and we were going for our massage today. She was quoted $110 for the both of us over the phone. When we go to check out they charged her $150. Can we ask why the increase in price they stated because I used to be a member and when I was no longer a member again. I had originally thought of signing back up on becoming a member. But if you are going to hellish people for canceling for medical reasons that I won't be doing that. read more

I have been a member of Massage Envy for 5 years. Today my massage therapist was not in due to unforeseen circumstances. I understand things come up. I was not contacted to be advised. I only found out after showing up for my appointment. A manager, a very unprofessional manager, told me 2 calls were made to me to advise and messages were left. I never received a call or message. If clients do not call the day prior to their appointment to cancel they still have to pay for the service. I was not compensated in any way for them cancelling my appointment at the last minute. If you charge members for not cancelling in a certain time, Message Envy should compensate its members for not cancelling the day before the appointment. If I do not get compensation I will be cancelling my membership!!!!!!!! I am only giving this business one star to get this compliant posted. If I could give no stars, I would. read more

Do yourself a favor and do not become a member. I have had nothing but bad experiences here. I had a massage therapist get sick in the middle of the session (not her fault) and leave so I had to reschedule.. did I get a free massage out of it? Nope. I had a facial and broke out in the most awful allergic rash on every surface of my skin that their product touched. Did I get my money back? Nope! Did I get an apology? Nope! The last guy that did my massage felt like my 4 year old nephew was doing it. He was too gentle and I had asked for deep tissue. They never have appointment times available. I always had to schedule my appointments a month and a half in advance. And since my schedule wasn't made yet I of course didn't know if that day would even work. So most of the time I'd have to cancel and try to reschedule for a day I had off work, which was impossible. Now here's the infuriating part. Every time I'd try to cancel my membership no one would answer the phone. When they finally did answer they told me they'd have to have a manger call me. Did anyone ever call me? Nope! I had to call back 5 times....5 times within a week. And not one phone call returned. And what do you know! They charged my card today for my monthly fee. I finally had to drive there and knock on the front door which was locked... to get someone to help me. The staff was rude, no manager ever even came out of the office to talk to me. The girl at the front desk canceled it in about 60 seconds. So the whole excuse of needing a manger to cancel your membership was bs. No customer service whatsoever. Oh and they just up and decided that membership fees were going to go from 60 to 75$ a month...Just your typical bait and switch rip off company. Steer clear! read more

My husband bought me a gift card while we were in the process of moving. During this time I misplaced by card but I believed it was in my possession but just misplaced. I called to tell them and of course, even with the receipt,for 200.00 dollars Massage Envy said they could not honor it. Ok, well I understand that I guess but here is the kicker.. I thought I would talk to the manager and see if somehow they would work with me on my ordeal to no avail, however during our conversation she told my card had been used!! I said no way. I ask for proof but she said she would have to go through 1,000 or more receipts to find it. Anyway, after the conversation I made it my mission to look for my gift card and YES I found it. It was in a zip up purse that had never left the house. It was exactly were I had placed it but forgotten. So, Erica, the manager flat out lied about my card being used!!!! I live alone with my husband and that card HAD NOT BEEN USED. It had never left my zip up purse. It is shame that a manager would flat out lie. Is this the way a business should be ran? I don't think so. Am I going to use their services,of course, I have 200.00 worth of svcs I have already paid for, but it will be the last dollar Massage Envy will get from me. I have the year membership and thought it was a great idea, but the receptionists (at both locations) are so condescending and unpleasant I literally hate calling to make an appointment. There is only one person who does an amazing job and that is Kelsey at the Nicholasville Road location. Everyone else who is a receptionist acts like it is an inconvenience to talk to you. So, I am stuck with all these extra massages because I don't want to call and be made to feel like an idiot.
