Staff was nice. Massage therapists were okay. I made appointments for myself and a +1. Check in went smoothly. We checked in about 5 mins early for appointment at 1pm. Check in and undressing took about 15 mins. Massage therapists asked about specific areas of concern then began. The actual massage lasted about 30 minutes. After the massage therapists had left the room & we were dressed, the time read 1:48pm...... Went to the front desk to pay and was pitched a membership package. We declined. Walked out of the office at 1:58..... our appointment was supposed to be an hour long, starting at 1pm..... we will be exploring other options for our next massage. I am a long-time Massage Envy customer. While recently visiting family in Jacksonville, I made an appointment for a one-hour massage at this Massage Envy location. Although I am affiliated with another location, my check-in experience was seamless. Usually I get "Firm" or "Deep" pressure massages, but there was no available appointment for that service, so I would up selecting a therapist who specialized in Light and Medium pressure. My appointment was made with Debbie. Debbie's massage was far and away the very best and most effective massage I have ever received! My "worst" areas of concern were eased by her magical hands. No kidding ... Her massage was fabulous! I'm writing this review 3 days after the session with Debbie ... My neck, shoulders and back are still eased, relaxed and tension-free. I cannot recommend Debbie more highly than saying you won't be disappointed! She is the absolute best! After one month it started automatically drafting from my account monthly. Once recognized, they did not refund the money, but gave me a timeframe that I had to use them under while still charging me to keep my account open. read more

I had a massage booked for me on Valentine's Day. I went in and everything went as I had expected. I was called by name to get the massage started. I was trying so hard to relax but found it impossible because the room was ice cold, even with the bed warmer on. I told the massage therapist and she agreed it was cold. So the massage starts and the therapist nails are a bit sharp. So now I'm freezing and being scratched. So I go to the front after it was done to check out I explain my discomfort to the lady at the front desk. She just asked what room I was in and said ok. I then had a slight issue checking out because she didn't see the gift certificate in the system. The person who booked this for me was not pleased once I relayed by disappointment. He called and was told the first time that I didn't say anything to the manager cause had I she would have taken care of it. He was told to call back and talk to a manager which he has done and been doing. We have still not spoken to anyone about this. I was really surprised because Massage Envy is usually on point. Purchased a 6 month pre-paid. Didn't use them all. Completed the cancellation paperwork back in November of 2018. They've been charging me EVERY month for over 2 years and won't refund my money. They also refuse to cancel my account and intend to keep charging me until I complete a cancel paper which 1) I already did and they lost and 2) I don't have a printer and I no longer live in the area. I got a Massage Envy membership in 2019. At the time, the monthly membership fee was $60. In March 2021, I got an email that Massage Envy was raising the rate to $65, which I found to be reasonable after a few years. In March 2022, Massage Envy raised the rate again, to $70. This time I did not receive any notification, but didn't think too much of it. My massage therapist is excellent, but notification would have been nice. Now in March 2023, shocker, Massage Envy raised the rate yet again, to $75. Again, no notification. Mind you, this is a TWENTY-FIVE percent increase over 3 years, with no notification. I know inflation is bad, but come on. This time, I called to address the issue with management. As a show of good faith, and to keep me as a customer, the woman I spoke to said they would waive the monthly fee for April 2023, which would actually result in me paying the equivalent of $68.75 per month for the year instead of $75. That's all she said, and she apologized for the lack of communication regarding the steady rate increases. I was satisfied with this response and did not cancel. Fast forward to yesterday, and instead of my usual charge of $33 for an extra 30 minutes at the membership rate, my credit card was billed for $98!!! At no time during the check out process did the clerk mention a $98 charge, and I was not asked to sign anything, nor was I asked to confirm any charges. I was completely unaware of the $98 charge until I looked at my account today. I immediately called Massage Envy and was told that one month ago, there was a "chargeback" the day after my regular monthly charge was billed to my account. I was told to call my Massage Envy home office about it, so I did. They told me that the employee that waived my monthly charge THREE MONTHS AGO was no longer employed there and to email the chain of emails with the employee that waived the monthly charge in April to some email address, so I did. The email response I got back was that they think the ex-employee meant to waive both the monthly charge AND the monthly massage service, which, while I am no rocket scientist, makes no sense at all. What purpose would that serve, to waive the fee and also cancel my monthly massage for April? Be serious. This employee proceeded to argue this position with me, again MONTHS after the fact, instead of just reimbursing the money they stole from me. On top of that, they also sent me a cancellation form this time, even though I did not request to cancel my membership. I simply asked for the charges to be corrected. I told them that if I did not have proof of reimbursement of the difference, $65, by 4pm today, that I would start filing complaints. And around 3:45, they told me that the card they have on file expired, which is hilarious since they just charged it excessively yesterday and those charges went through. They have two current cards on file for me, both of which they charge monthly, but they cannot use the same card they charged me without authorization YESTERDAY to refund me? Amazing. I replied to that email and as of now I have no response. There is no telling who else they have stolen money from by schemes like this, and by failing to confirm charges with their customers or by completely failing to even have their customers authorize charges. Don't let this happen to you. Go elsewhere. Massage Envy is nothing but scam artists and thieves. I will now be filing complaints with the BBB and CFPB, among others. It is not that hard to do right by your customers, but they're going to learn today. read more

Massage was too soft after I asked for more pressure. For 90 dollars I wanted more. The room was completely silent and I could hear her breathing on me. It was uncomforatable and impossible to relax. My facial with Kate was not very good, in fact it was painful and terrible. Not to mention, she was extremely rude. She asked about medical conditions that had nothing to do with facials and tried to give me medical advice about my thyroid even though she is not a licensed doctor. She kept asking about my period cycle and when I told her I didn't know she kept prauding. I do not want to talk about my medical history (that does not affect my face), my period (after explaining I don't track my cycles), or anything else during a facial. I just want the facial. She also walked me out and tried to get me to buy a bunch of products after I told her I did not want anything else. read more

I have been experience a lot of neck, back and shoulder pain so my boyfriend made me an appointment for a massage. My massage therapist was Brandy and she did an amazing job. She spent the entire hour doing her best to work out all my knots as I am flying to Iceland this week and want to be as comfortable as possible on the long flight. She answered questions as they came up and even showed me some stretches to help as well. I hope to make it back in to see her my trip to finish getting the last few knots out. read more

After receiving a gift certificate for my birthday, I was ready to give Massage Envy a try. My girlfriend did all the appointments, calling, on-line necessities that needed to be done to secure a visit. So it was easy breezy for me to enjoy my time. On my first official visit and I was relaxed and ready. Walked right in and they were waiting for us, addressing us by name. The studio is a nice size with a relaxing vibe. After checking in we were lead to the "waiting" room, to wait for our masseuse; with nice comfy chairs playing soft music in the background, and plenty of water. Finally when the masseuse showed up and led me to the room, she was friendly and asked if there were any special requests. You disrobe to YOUR comfort and are covered entirely by sheet when area is not being worked on. I choose the 60 minute body massage with no add ons. Because you can add on almost anything, I went for the straight massage. We discussed the areas of concern, since I am a runner and biker, she hit all the right spots! I love that you can adjust your pain tolerance to fit your needs...and comfort. I was sorry when the 60 minutes were up....as I was so relaxed and in the zone. However, they are very polite and let you stay in room as long as needed after massage for you comfort! Yeah this is a "club" and they want your membership. But I will tell you this, they do NOT hound you to join. They politely give a "spiel" and explain the benefits of joining as a member. Not pushy at all, very relieved, since after a nice relaxing massage you do NOT want to be hounded. I have money left on my card, so I will be back! read more

I was convinced to do a membership here and after I told the front desk to cancel I was still getting billed. I went to the store and the lady said there was no paperwork of my cancellation. She told me if I never signed the form it was never cancelled. No one told me I had to sign the form when I asked for the cancellation. Now it's my fault that I didn't sign the form? They said they don't do refunds. The lady up front made a face when I couldn't remember the girl's name that worked when I came in to cancel. Nothing was handled when I came into the store. They said they have to contact the owner. Well I've never heard back. The store people are useless and the owner is absent. So nothing was properly handled. The pros: if you come in twice a month you get your money's worth. Anything more than that you lose money. Cons: you get a free massage a month which you pay $60 for so how free is that? They say the massage rolls over to the next month if you don't use it. They never mention when you cancel your membership you can't use the ones you saved. So if you paid $300 for 5 months and was busy and now you have 5 massages saved, if you cancel you can't use it. That's $300 down the drain because you work. Also you can't transfer them to the same person more than twice in a year. This is how the company makes money. Never again will I be contracted into receiving massages. read more

Afterwards she opted to return it for a refund but The assistant manager refused and tried to slow roll us with multiple and vague reasons not th return $360. Her reasons for returning the membership were about the company's policy of adding multiple charges for lotion extra towels etc.. I went to this Massage Envy location and it was pretty good. The first time you go, your massage will only cost $39 for an hour, which is a killer deal. They offer this promotional price to try and get you in to buy a monthly membership (like a gym membership), where you get one massage a month for $49/month. The lady working at the front desk was super friendly, and I didn't feel much pressure - she just told me about the memberships, gave me some information to take with me, and left it at that. The massage itself was really good. I am always a little hesitant seeing a male masseuse, but he did a great job. He was really knowledgeable and I did get a full hour. My only complaints: hearing a baby screaming through the walls from the business next door during my massage, and another lady clipping her nails in the waiting room (ewww)! Don't go or waste your time. I am a new mom and my husband tried to treat me to their membership monthly massages. While visiting I thought I would use my first massage and bring my mother with me to enjoy one as well on their transfer system. My husband booked the first appointment and we did not realize that they were booked at two separate locations. That morning, my mom received a call 20 mins before her appointment and I wondered why I didn't not receive one but assumed her masseuse was just asking personal questions. When my mom and myself got to the Oakleaf location I did not have an appointment and it took us about five minutes to realize it was at a different location. I tried to call the Ortega location multiple times and no one answered. I did not receive a call until after 20 minutes from them telling me that I would be charged for not being there even tho I called them multiple times and tried to go to the location even with no answer. I'm writing this to say, after trying to talk to a manager who never called me and after calling multiple times more, with no answer that their customer service and how they go about interacting with clients is the worst. Go anywhere else but here. They are not in business for customer service and or providing the any assistance at all. read more

Never stepping foot in there again! My first experience was with Carrie Ann which was amazing. She is very professional and definitely a great masseuse. My second experience was quite the opposite. I was assaulted by one of their therapists and later learned he had a previous charge that was reported to the Massage Board of Health- while working there - and it was for the exact same behavior! Such disgusting disregard for client safety for a professional establishment to keep someone of that" class" on as an employee just so he can become a repeat offender. Needless to say, I was so traumatized after this that I really needed a massage for a very long time but was too scared to get one. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I think they use the Carrie Ann's to bait you to join, then fill their schedules with whoever else they can. read more

First time going to a Massage Envy and I think that it was a nice visit. I got there 10 minutes early and my Therapist was already set up and ready for me to go. We went over what I wanted work on and started the massage (took about 5 to 10 minutes of talking). The massage was great, she nice pressure (Sorry I cant think of masseuse name) even though didn't necessarily focus on the areas I asked for. After the massage they asked about the possibility of signing up for a monthly membership, which is 49/month. The receptionist was very knowledgeable about it but I politely declined. Overall, my experience was good but not good enough to rebook or sign up for membership. read more

Beautiful location, friendly employees and excellent service. My hour massage by Crystal was phenomenal. I appreciate how easy it was to get an appointment and how welcoming and comfortable the spa was to us. It was nice to specify areas to concentrate on and level of pressure, then just lay down and let them work their magic. We had gift certificates to redeem, and even though mine was several years old, I had never gotten around to using it and was delighted that it was still honored. To be honest, I have avoided places that offer memberships like ME because I was concerned about getting the hard sell to join. Though I love getting relaxing massages, with my sometimes crazy schedule it is difficult to know when I will be available to enjoy some "me time". Plus there are times I need a massage more than others so I like the flexibility to just go when and where I like without worrying about getting locked into any membership. While the staff did mention the discounts and perks of membership when we were checking out, there was absolutely no pressure to join. I will be back to this location, and I will ask for Crystal again, and though the price will be higher without a membership, when I do feel like treating myself to a good massage, I know it will be worth it. read more

I had a membership here and I really did enjoy it. I raved about it to friends and got them to sign up and I cancelled it because I was accumulating massages and being busy at my job it's hard to make appointments. Well, when I cancelled I was told I had to use my accumulated massages within 60 days of cancelling my membership, I know when I signed up the contract said I could accumulate massages and they would roll over. Little did I know once I cancelled that was no longer the case. I called this week to try and extend it a few days or a week even because any of the massages available didn't work with my schedule (which was 3-4 massages). Today is my 60th day, the last day I can use it and they just called me back and said the manager cannot extend it but they have one available at 9 tonight which doesn't work or I would have scheduled it earlier in the week. I expected better customer service from somewhere I had a membership with and a little flexibility. I honestly would not recommend a membership here. read more

Less than one star possible? Because that's what they would get out of me. I went in yesterday afternoon around 2ish to book 2 appointments for the next day. The lady behind the desk who made my appointment told me that if I needed to cancel call at least by 10 the next morning since I was booking for the next day. Well, come the next day I had to cancel both appointments. The RUDEST girl answered the phone. She told me that she would charge me 50% of my appointment. I told her no, that's not what the original girl told me, to my face because I made my appt in house. I proceeded to tell her that I was not going to pay because I called before 10am like the girl asked since I was scheduled for 2:30. That girl on the phone got quiet then had the balls to tell me and I quote "is that all you want?" Excuse me? I said yeah and then she flat out just hung up. I will not recommend this location to anyone. For the sole reason work on your customer service and you might actually have people working instead of 7 employees standing around doing nothing like they were when I was in there. I was prescribed massage therapy for a shoulder injury by my doctor, and Tramayne has been treating me for the past 6 months. My shoulder (and the rest of my body!) is doing very well. Went to this location, because the Fleming island one was booked. Receptionist was very nice and seemed knowledgeable and professional at first. I was using my wife's membership from the FI location so I paid a $10 transfer fee in advance. I asked for a regular massage, and everything went well until check out time. I was asked by the masseuse if I wanted to try the biofreeze, I said yes, $15. I was also asked by the receptionist if I would like to to the masseuse, I said yes $15. So I gave him my credit card, waited patiently, only to find out my total was $83!!. I said what is this for? I was told I was being charged for my massage too. After realizing the mistake, Is told a refund was fine while Is there, and should see the referral within 10 days. Almost 30 days later. I finally got a refund (after several complaining calls). However, now they tried to charge me for a deep tissue massage, and was accused of lying when I denied getting this service! I was extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism at this location by both the staff and the management team. I will NEVER go here again!! read more
