My massage experience was actually nice enough to get me join up Again! The manager on duty Megan was so nice and accommodating with a gift card situation. My masseuse Carla was fantastic and Aileen (sorry if i forget her name) Was a savvy salesperson because I had no intention in signing up for a membership as I had one before and was too busy to make a few appointments. Change my regular massage therapist to some creepy guy who instantly gave me the ick. I don't think I lasted 10mins in the room with him. I went to the front desk and gave a complaint, I also let a voicemail for the manager. 6 months have passed and they are still charging my card after I told them that I wasn't comfortable their and didn't trust their judgement. Save yourself and go some place else. read more

Everything was fine, but I was back in my car before the hour was up? The massage was closer to 40-45 minutes! So I paid for an hour massage but did not receive the full hour. I will look for another spa. Plus expensive! read more

My full review is below but overall frustrating experience first with scheduling the appointment, and then with the underwhelming massage. I completely got my hopes up. First, was rescheduled on a few times which already took about 2 months to get in the door. The third time (the day of my appointment) I went in for the appointment & they said they had nothing booked for me in the system. I had already taken time off work, so rescheduled for that day (luckily they had something for the same day, but different masseuse). At this point I paid $130 for the massage, $20 tip (I cannot leave without tipping, even for a bad experience), AND the time I taken off of work! I hate to provide bad reviews but I feel like I was looking forward to this massage for so long and was highly disappointed. I left more stressed and uncomfortable than I arrived. It seems that most reviews are stating they continue to reschedule people's appointments for ridiculous reasons. I understand some things are out of their control but it seems like most people are having the same scheduling issue.. Regarding the actual massage, I had a prenatal massage service with the male specialist. At first I had requested a female but since they kept rescheduling on me, I just took whatever they had for that day. I understand you cannot receive deep tissue or strong pressure on certain areas during pregnancy, I did talk with my doctor who said it was completely fine at any pressure except too much in the legs. It felt like he put lotion on my shoulders, arms and legs and lightly rubbed it in. For $130 I expected a much different experience! Save your time and money and go to a spa that is not a franchise. Maybe they don't get paid well because it certainly seems no one cares about the service.He was nice and respectful but it wasnt at all what I expected. Full review: I received a gift card to Massage Envy and was looking forward to a prenatal massage since I originally scheduled the appointment months ago. The appointment was rescheduled multiple times. After the 3rd time being rescheduled I went in for my 10am appointment with the prenatal specialist (female requested) only to find out they never confirmed my appointment in the system! They said the person must have never confirmed the appointment after we spoke last month and although that masseuse comes in at that time, she is already booked. I was beyond frustrated since I know I had this date, time and masseuse in my personal and work calendar for almost a month! I had to request time off so I made sure to follow up with those details with work right away. I also remember the date and time since I have been looking forward to this appointment for so long! At this point I am 2 months away from birth and cannot wait too much longer for a different week. So they luckily had a a last minute appointment for the same day. I had to come back at 3pm with their male prenatal specialist. Not my first choice, I did prefer a female but was so overwhelmed w/ taking too much time from work and being 2 months away from birth that I didn't really want to wait another month. I was stressed, and felt obligated quite honestly. That was the first physical interaction with customer service. The first lady I dealt with was nice but at this point I was so frustrated at the amount of time I have already taken off from work and the time I have waited for my appointment (literally almost 2 months since I first scheduled) Now to the massage... Maybe I was looking forward to this massage for too long and had high expectations or maybe I was put off by the entire experience so far but it felt like it was over in less than an hour. The massage pressure was EXTREMELY light. They mentioned it is because of the pregnancy but I asked my doctor who said this was perfectly safe to receive a prenatal massage as deep or gentle as you like as long as its not deep tissue in the legs (to avoid blood clotting) and as long as it did not hurt which is completely understandable. I really hate to be "that" person about a business and even more I hate to complain but I should have just left. In fact, I have had better massages at the nail salon for free. If this person is truly a professional with "multiple degrees" in prenatal massage perhaps they need to go to a continuing education course. I guess I was expecting to feel better physically and mentally after the massage - the only thing that felt lighter was my wallet at a hefty $130 plus $20 tip price tag! I am so mad that I paid so much for such a bad experience. It is safe to say I will NOT recommend Massage Envy Shelton location and will NOT be returning!! Honestly, for that price tag, I would recommend a private spa. and definitely not a membership, everything about it felt like a scam. I really don't think they will last in this economy. So sad that they have a horrible rating. My experience was very different from the other reviews. For a person who is meticulous and particular about service I had a great time. I was greeted at the door by ladies at the front and later introduced to Claudia, the message was nothing short of mediocre it was truly amazing she hit all of the key points and changed pressure as I requested. Truly amazing she has healing hands!! Back pain where?!.. ill definitely be back already anticipating my next one.. read more

The massages and therapist are amazing, the staff is so kind and it's not to fault of their own, but unfortunately canceling mine or my husbands appointment is a reoccurring event. I received a text message telling me that my husbands therapist for his massage is no longer available, our couples massage is tomorrow. The time prior I received a call confirming my appointment, a few minutes later another call saying my therapist no longer works there. It's always the night before, we make plans around these 60-90 minute services, and especially our bodies are so ready for a massage by then. It really is the biggest bummer. We have quite a few massages left over from months we haven't been able to get in, and now I want them to cancel our memberships due to this reoccurring issue. I'm told I can't cancel unless I get a doctor's note. It's not due to any health concerns, clearly. Each month they draft a decent amount for mine and my husband to have memberships that we can't take advantage of, and hopefully we'll get refunded for the abundance of massages we paid for and didn't receive. read more
