During our pre massage discussion we were able to discuss my needs for today's visit and discuss the target muscle groups i.e bilateral occipital neck muscles, scapular muscles and hip flexors, which were my big concern areas. And she nailed it! She was able to release all the tension and muscle spams I have had for a very long time, and, in addition she was spot on with the rest of her full body massage. Her knowledge of the human musculoskeletal system is far beyond any other massage therapist I have been to. We discussed pressure as well and I explained to her that I wanted deep tissue and that is surly what I received. At the end of my session I left feeling relieved of the stress and tension in my body, so much so that I signed up for a monthly membership so that I can continue to have a good reason to go back every month! Highly recommend her!! Also everyone was great, friendly and helpful and over all I had a fantastic experience. I will definitely be spreading the word about her and this place!

I was warmly greeted with a warm towel and taken to the women's locker room. The room was clean and had little items to make your time enjoyable such as a hair tie and a candy in your locker! I enjoyed about 20 minutes in the waiting area with a sparkling water, Oreo and some mixed nuts before heading to my massage. My massage therapist was WONDERFUL!! I had a 50 minute deep tissue massage and I wish I would have booked longer. It was sooooo relaxing! The table was heated, so that felt nice! I am 240lbs and 5'7 and fit on the table fine. I also had a 2x robe and it also fit perfectly! Definitely plus size friendly! After my massage I waited in the lobby area a little longer to enjoy my relaxation and then headed to the women's locker room to change. There is a shower if you prefer to not go home with lotion on you. When you go to leave, they will hold the door open for you and I feel like that is a very nice touch! I will absolutely be back!

I have gone here a few times now and have had the pleasure of experiencing a few different massage therapists. All of the therapists I have met have been professional and amazing at what they do. The rooms and sauna are clean and well set up. The therapists and receptionist are all following covid guidelines and were wearing masks as well. My most recent massage (August 2021) they were still all wearing masks but were fine with me not wearing one as I was fully vaccinated. They do have a mailing/email list you can sign up for and doing that they will send you deals. They make it pretty easy to book online for things, although if you are using a groupon you should call them to book to get everything set up correctly. They make it easy to add anything to your booking after the fact/onsite. If it is possible for them to do it, they will. Groupons do not account for state tax so you will have to pay for that when you leave but you can use your card and add a tip at the same time too, so convenient for those that don't carry cash. For those of you looking at all reviews please read the mentions below: 1) There is no dedicated parking/lot for this business. It is located on the main street of No. St. Paul. There is lots of parking all along the street but if its busy you may have to walk a few yards. 2) Information buy/selling. When I signed up for their email list they stated they do NOT sell their clients information. One reviewer didn't know how this business got her info and wouldn't tell her, other than they didn't BUY her info. Probably true that they DIDN'T buy the reviewers info, they probably got it from a client using their reward program. You refer your friends email addresses and qualify for rewards. If I was a business owner, I would have handled it the same, few people would be satisfied with being told they were referred by a friend. Many people would want to know WHO it was and personally I wouldn't be comfortable with giving out my other clients info, but I would let them know that we would remove all of their information from our systems. You know just like it was originally handled. 3) Pricing. They honor all terms for what you purchase. So if you purchased a package on groupon and use it with in the timeline you don't pay anything extra (see the tax thing above). If you don't use it within the timeline (hasn't happened to me yet) they honor the price you paid to apply to a service they provide. Paid $89 for a 1hr massage and 30 min sauna but expired 3 weeks ago? You get $89 towards a service/package now and if that package is now $120 well, you still owe $31 now. That is life, read the small print, make sure you get there before it expires. That said, they are great about doing add-on's. I have used different deal certificates and was able to add on additional time or hot stones or aromatherapy easily. However, you DO have to do that either when you make the booking or be ok to forgo it if you are going to wait until checking in. Also just because you are checking a price doesn't mean that it will always stay the same, things change, economy changes. When I have done upgrades/add-ons to my deals when I booked my session I have never had the price changed when I got there. Now, I have been in situations at other small businesses where I placed an order or booked a session and the price changed by the time I got there a few days later and guess what?! They honored the old price because I had BOOKED/ORDERED before the change happened. Computers/registers tend to default to what is the current price, but pointing out you BOOKED when the prices were different and them being able to see the date of booking makes it easy for them to fix. Deciding to call a few times over a few weeks to find out pricing and never booking and then getting pissed that a week or two later they changed pricing and they're unfair is being a petulant child. Ever been to a gas station? No? Well, let me blow your mind. They change can change their prices everyday and they can do this because the price is stated clearly to their customer. Just because the priced changed doesn't mean they are shady or unfair, it's just economics. But getting bratty about it does mean that you are indecisive at best and stupid at worse. No one was baited and switched, rather you waited to your detriment to book your appointment and now have to pay more. That is life. Next time you'll know if you like the price you should put a ring on it, sorry, book it. Overall, this place is the best. Great massages and great ambiance. Super clean.

I also received a robe and slippers in my designated size. The changing room, bathroom, lockers and women's retreat areas were calming, clean and comfortable. I did sign up for a membership during my first visit due to it making sense financially and being impressed by the hospitality at the location. It was fine, no better or worse than any other massage. My one star off is because my massage therapist was sick and kept having to stop to cough or sneeze. I tried out BLM first since they're the closest to my home. (Of course, I checked out Yelp reviews and the web page first.) Wow, they blew me away! I'm definitely fortunate to find such a great place so close to my house. There are many therapy options at Better Life but I've been choosing hour long deep tissue massages. I've experienced this style before. But Angel does a particularly fantastic job. She kicks my ass...in a great way. And she does it with an awesome, interesting, highly effective, Asian, Mandarin style twist! (I should have taken the hint when I saw the giant Asian medical charts hanging in the lobby!) Mandarin Style (my term) includes locating and working out all hard clumps of stiff muscle, interesting stretches, hot oil, and hot stones! I am so relaxed when I leave, I wobble down the hallway like a drunk person. The first time, they asked if I was okay and if I needed help. No kidding. I also have to drink water. And I usually have to sit in my car for several minutes to make sure I'm okay to drive home. Best of all, I had amazing results the VERY NEXT DAY. For the first time in years, I can now stand on one leg and lift the opposite foot more than 12 inches above the ground. In fact, now I can lift my knees all the way above parallel. Amazing. My cousin visited from out-of-town and I treated him to an hour long massage at Better Life. He never had a massage before in his life. But I knew he was in need. He owns an HVAC company and he has spent his whole life going up and down ladders and on his feet all day...for over 30 years. I would say, without exaggerating, the massage was a life changing experience for him. I'm not kidding. He actually canceled his chiropractic appointment and he found a massage therapist in Williston, ND (the oil fields). A few other final notes... The staff are fantastically skilled and impeccably polite. There's a small basket on the table in the lobby full of "thank you" cards that are quite touching. This place is clean and simple (in a good way). They were able to accommodate my time which was 10 minutes after i called. I only saw 1 staff member while I was there and she is the one who gave me my massage. I got a 1 hr full body massage and I like light to medium pressure and that is what I got without having to ask. She did ask if the pressure was okay, which is always appreciated. When it was time for the hot stones, they were very hot in the beginning and she made sure to ask if the temperature was okay and when I told her no, she immediately removed them and let them cool down to get to a perfect temp before bringing them back into the massage. I would have rated a 5 star, however, they have a $5 off coupon on yelp for new customers which I wanted to take advantage of, but when I got there I was told they stopped that a year ago. (I suggested they remove it from the yelp site ‍). The other thing that made me not give 5 stars was during my massage, she left the room suddenly (I'm not sure if it was to help other customers or to grab something because it was just a little longer then expected and I heard her talking to customers). I just felt slightly awkward not knowing what was going on. Usually the massage therapist let's me know wheb they need to leave the room to grab something. She left the room 1 more time, but that time I'm pretty sure it was to grab something because it was rather quick. Overall this place deserves a 4.5 star rating and if I'm ever back in town I would definitely come back here again.
