I have been extremely disappointed by this location. After several auto accidents & surgeries, massages gave been instrumental in my recovery. I was 17 in the 1st, 36 the last one; I have seen countless massage therapists, all over the country. I have had only 2 massages @ the Temple location that were worth their salt in the 10 years I've lived here. Not therapeutic, no knots worked out, no ACTUAL hot stones, no deep tissue- it's extremely disappointing that the knowledge level of these "therapists" appears to be very basic at best. Your options are for a massage that's so basic asking my child to rub my neck/shoulders & saving my $$ would have been more beneficial, or you get someone who thinks deep pressure means they apply pressure as hard as they can all without regard to which muscle/tendon/ligament they are working on & how it relates to all the layers beneath, or of surrounding soft tissue. IN OTHER WORDS, they don't employ MASSAGE THERAPISTS with knowledge and experience providing therapeutic care, they employ masseuse's with a piece of paper that will oil you up & fake it.. I have had ONLY 1 Massage Therapist in the years that I've tried Massage Envy that was actually knowledgeable and beneficial ~ she's not there anymore. Signed a contract with them bc of her, now I'm hoping to find another true Massage Therapist. i hope they can get it together, maybe get some more experience in the building. read more

I had a membership with Massage Envy for over a year. After a substantial price hike, I decided to cancel my membership. I went down to the location, filled out and signed the cancellation request form, they even made me a copy of the form that I submitted. I trusted that my membership fees would stop but they did not. They have continued to charge me for the past 9 months. When I tried to dispute this, nobody is available that can finalize the membership cancellation or stop the charges. I had to cancel my card to get it to stop. I still can't get a call back from the manager to discuss this. read more

Love coming here for massages and facial treatments! Hana is amazing with improving my complexion. I've gotten microdermabrasion and chem peels and love the results each time! Terrible...I read that to cancel my membership that I needed to bring a letter into the office. I took a letter in to the Temple location in June. In November, when I realized they were still billing me (I know, I should have noticed sooner), I called to remind them that I had personally delivered a letter asking that my membership be cancelled. I disputed the charge on my credit card and thought it was done. Then, they billed me, again, in December. I called, again, and they swear that now it is cancelled. Laneeka did my facial and it was absolutely spectacular. I think she and I are sisters at heart. We laughed and told stories but if you don't want to talk she won't talk. We just happen to hit it off. We talked about a lot of different skincare tips and hopefully when I go back next month my face will be in better shape. Linda did my deep tissue massage. It was the second time I have been to Linda and obviously, I liked her because I chose her again. She really does a great job of actually doing deep tissue. This specific office has been wonderful and I have made it clear that my frustration is NOT within my therapist having pink eye. They knew that before they posted their response. Nevertheless, if you have a challenging schedule, I really still believe that you should think twice about signing a contact for services that can easily not be given to you because of covid...but for which you still will pay. I came for my first time facial today, i was so excited to get a clear youthful glow. Me and Kim the esthetician went over my needs and problem areas. I told her I had very sensitive skin especially to fragranced scrubs, cleansers. She proceeded to tell me shes highly trained, she wont put anything ony skin to burn it blah blah blah. So okay i was ready to go. The first scrub she used burned badly and she left it on making a fan motion with her hand. She said a little tingling would be normal. She decided to give a arm massage to take away pain on my face. Anyways the excuse for my pain was that my protective barrier is damaged. Like really no? I told her i had sensitive skin. Anyways im left with redness and breakouts all over my face. I cant even go outside in the sun it hurts so bad. read more

I love the massages, but on the business part of the place is a complete and total wreck. They messed up on our billing several times. My wife and I actually have two billing dates and we signed up as a couple at the same time. They do not tell you that you have to wait after your billing date to get your one month massage. Just found that out this week when my wife went to get a massage and got charged for her March massage. This should of been explained prior to us signing up for a year. This place is pretty scammy. They answer the phone like a pizza delivery hotline trying to upsell cheesy bread, but instead they suggest up to four services as part of a scripted greeting before allowing you to speak. It's a high pressure salesy environment, not relaxing at all. The membership process requires 8 million pages and signatures. And once you are a member, hidden fees begin to show up. Records and payments are "lost" on their end. And, like any membership, it is very hard to get out of. My advice is to find a good spa or local therapist that is not linked to a chain. read more

I was very dissatisfied with the cancellation/ reschedule policy that was enforced today. I am in severe pain and found that massage envy had a same day appointment (yay) but late tonight. I booked the appointment early this morning and within about 2 hours of searching found someone else that could get me in. Again to relieve this excruciating pain. I completely understand the 24 hour policy but I just made the appointment and you charged me 50% and you still had a whole day to book that same appointment. You have lost me as a customer forever. read more

I called to get pricing and ended up purchasing two planes. A prepaid 6 months and a Month to Month plan. Fast forward 6 months, I receive a call from Massage Envy that my card has been denied for renewal. My question was why are they trying to charge my card if I only paid for 6 months. Apparently, they will continue to charge after your 6 months which was not explained to me when I signed up. After 20 mins on the phone, they said they never check the box that won't auto-renew so they will cancel my membership with no additional charge. Since they are cancelling my membership the 3 credits I have will no longer be available. They refused to help with the situation so I decided to cancel the month to month I purchased for my wife. They then said the month to month is actually a 12-month contract and that I cannot cancel until then. Again, something that was not explained up front. This location was so quick to sign me up in less than 10 mins and didn't explain any of the terms. They have also called to reschedule every appointment I have scheduled. read more

Absolute worst. I received a massage May 4th. It was on this visit I signed up for a membership and was told that I could cancel at any time with no problems. LIES! I have called three times, left messages no one gets back to me. I went to the location yesterday at 7:30 they were closed, however the door says they are open until 10pm. I called again today (fourth call) and the manager tells me that I have to allow another payment to come out before they can cancel my membership. What made me sign up for the membership was the wonderful massage I received during my first, only and last visit to this location. However that person is NO LONGER THERE, so why make it so hard for me to leave? Why do I have to keep calling, keep emailing? Why is this the experience Massage Envy Temple offers. I do not recommend this place, it is in your best interest NOT to sign up for the membership because they are making it terribly costly to get out. read more

I walked in to ask about a membership a good friend of mine swears by this place well more so one of the workers. As I was standing there one of the girls stated hello and that she would be right with me... Everything was fine till Jada came to give me the information I was asking for , she was so robotic with it all. Changed voice fake smile this place is either all about quotas or they need better training I walked out not getting anything... People do the math it's 65 a month for a hour massage one per month if you want to get a hour and a half they say it is 23$ up grade meaning you are paying 88$ for a massage what kind of special is that? read more

Anthony chiropractic in Temple will give you $1 a minute sessions. 1hr=$60.00 without buying a membership. The monthly membership has MANY LIMITATIONS. Anthony Chiropractic is also 100% up front with their fees, no membership or up selling needed. I tried to cancel this membership on 3 different occasions due to provider cancellations and their schedule changes, but got "sold" back in to keeping the membership. The office can cancel on the clients last minute, but if you have something come up, you WILL be charged. The front office and therapists are amazing, but the manager and the owner are not willing to perform any type of refund if their staff cancels on you and you build up unused sessions. Don't believe the "later hours " and "weekend" promises along with the "transferable" session hype. I cancelled a weekend with my son and husband (both active duty military away from home) to keep an appointment and even accepted facial appointments (which I don't need) just to try to use up my accrued sessions from my membership due to their limited availability. Then, 2 hours before my appointment, they called and cancelled my appointment YET AGAIN due to staffing issues. Over $800 in unused sessions from my membership and I was told by the owner I would not be refunded any money. However, I am welcome to go ahead and hold my breath for the next 60-90 days and try to use these sessions. In my experience with this specific facility, if you need a late night appointment or a weekend appointment, you have a 50% chance of having your appointment cancelled. The providers are great, but the business is money hungry. I don't feel comfortable anymore going to an office that is supposed to be healing and peaceful and have people touch my body when their bosses are more concerned about your wallet than they are with doing the right thing by a client that has been cancelled on by their office several times. Yes, I would love to go and receive a massage from people who refuse to accept accountability for their schedule limitations or ensure their staff is going to work their schedule. DON'T THINK YOU WILL BE ABLE TO TRANSFER YOUR SESSIONS UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL $10 FOR THE TRANSFER AND ONLY TRANSFER ONE SESSION EVERY SIX MONTHS TO THE SAME PERSON. That was the sales pitch that got me (read the fine print). I hope the $800 you refuse to refund me was worth losing the clients' trust in such a vulnerable line of work. An environment like that is not "healing", and NO ONE would ever feel comfortable being touched by anyone working for a company that takes advantage of their clients financially. I have felt this way for 6 months and it gets more and more awkward to walk in that office. When I told the owner this, she told me "well then that's your choice, but I'm not refunding you anything". Good call! I hope you make a great deal of money off of mismanaging businesses and having the clients pay, no matter the cost to them personally. read more

Their corporate billing policies are the worst that I have ever even heard of. I had 6 months of unused massages. To cancel my account that was on hold I would have had to pay for another month to be able to cancel my account without losing what I already paid for. You want a refund? Forget about it.... Also the manager is extremely confrontational with my wife and I since since her account was past due and we were trying to pay the balance to cancel my wife's account but it had already been sent to collections. They could not tell us the name of the collections agency so we could take care of that, so now we have to wait for some unknown collection agency to contact us so we can pay for services that we never received. We would have had to pay the past due amount to stop accrueing any future charges. They would not let us put my wife's account on hold once we became one payment behind. read more

I got a massage and 2 days later I called back to check pricing. That is when they informed me that I was no longer welcome at any Massage Envy. When I asked why I was told that the therapist "saw a digital recording device in my bag" then I asked the receptionist why was the therapist in my purse and she said "she was not in your purse she could see it from the outside" I then asked her was she talking about my iPhone or Apple Watch because those are the only things I had with me that she could be referring to. She said "she did not know". After my massage the owner asked me to write a 5 star review and they would give me a free up grade and I told the owner I would write a review on google and include a few pictures. So I did that night. When I was on the phone with the receptionist she told me they thought it was weird that I took pictures so they googled me and saw that I own a spa and I'm no longer welcome at Massage Envy. I explained to the girl I have not owned a spa in over a year but they did not seem to care. I don't know why that would matter unless they do not like other business owners. I also explained that the pictures were taken for my review. Nothing I said seemed to matter. While ASSAULTING my character they were extremely rude to me! I expect a higher level of customer service!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone! I must ad the therapist was never uncomfortable with me she talked to me about her entire life for the 80 minutes I was getting the massage. She also recommend that I come back in 2 weeks so obviously she didn't have a problem with me! It all makes me wonder what this place has to hide. read more
