The worst customer service I have had in some time. Created an account online and made an appointment for a Friday and took the afternoon off for a rare treat for myself. I showed up at the time I made an appointment for and they said I didn't have an appointment. They said their online booking system regularly has glitches and doesn't actually book the appointment when used. I took the afternoon off and lost out on wages and they didn't offer to try to make it right or even apologize. Do not by the membership. They will nickle and dime you over every little thing. I've spent $250 for Dec and Jan and have had 1 massage. My "90 min" massage wasn't 90 mins, they take away time for the "consultation" and getting dressed and undressed. I've gotten massages at a lot of places and they don't do that. They have absolutely no accommodation for their members, if you miss your apt they still charge the fee and don't let you reschedule regardless of the reason you missed. And it's not like they're fully booked 24/7, they bombard you with texts every day talking about the availability they have if you want to bump up your massage apt. They also use your massage time if you're late, even if no one else is scheduled after you. I feel like members should be accommodated more if they're booked fine but if not, give us courtesy. This was my first time and last time buying their membership. I'm spending $85 at the nails and spa by winco where you get a headspa, mini facial and massage for an hour and they are so nice and accommodating. You leave feeling so relaxed, not irritated like at massage envy. Not to mention, my first massage, the speaker was blown out and sounded staticky and the second one, the side door was cracked open when I got up to get dressed and I didn't realize until after I got up. Whoever is running this location has absolutely no common sense when it comes to dealing with loyalty and customer satisfaction. My husband was going to be late to this appointment they would not work with him whatsoever and informed him that his appointment was already cancelled and lost his monthly credit and extended service for this one time of being late. Instead of just trying to work something out to continue this customer relationship and showing why Massage Envy is a good investment to make with their monthly memberships, their actions have led us to cancelling and going elsewhere. Not to mention, word of mouth is huge in a small town like Visalia and we will not be recommending their services. I've never even been to this place before, and I already had to deal with rescheduling an appointment. No one mentioned anything about a same-day cancellation fee. I rescheduled, only to find out I was charged for half the service anyway. On top of that, every time I've called, the receptionists have had attitudes. Not helpful, not welcoming, just rude. Been a member for more than 6 years. Overtime, the service at this location has deteriorated..the linens and towels are grey instead of being white, recently during a massage, the therapist said that they don't pay well and also take a percentage off the tips! She also said that she has been given Kaiser insurance and there are no doctors who take Kaiser in Visalua to get her 2 y/o son treated. I've been going to Massage Envy since 2010. Never have had problems until I started visiting the Visalia location. It's very hard to even get an appointment at Visalia. When I call to book, my appointment is generally about 7 to 10 days out from the time I call. I've never had this problem at other locations. Now for the third time in the last year, I get a call the morning of my appointment telling me the therapist won't be coming in (for whatever reason). Ok things happen I guess. Even though this is the third time. Since I can only come in the mornings or early afternoon, I now have to wait an additional 13 days for another appointment. No offer of anything for the inconvenience. I guess I should be happy I got a phone call. One time I drove all the way there (20 miles each way) to be told in person that my massage was canceled. However, if you need to cancel (which I had to do once in 10 years of patronage), Visalia had no problem charging me for the full session. I would not recommend joining this Massage Envy location. Unless you like frustration, annoyance, and poor customer service. Save yourself $75 a month. There has to be better options out there. I know I am now looking for one. read more

First impression: Cute, small, clean massage parlor. My massage appointment was at 1:30pm so I arrived at 1:20 pm. I had completed the introductory questionare online a week prior so all that was required was a signature. I signed the form and waited for my massage therapist. I was disappointed to find out that the initial 5 minutes of my hour were used for "talking" as well as the last 5 which means my massage went from 60 to 50 minutes before it even started. I had a certificate for a free additional service so I chose the foot scrub. I was disappointed to find that this bonus was also removed from my hour which means I truly only received a 40 minute massage and the massage therapist didn't even get to massage my head which was an area I had specifically indicated I needed massaged. That seemed very deceiving and for $55 dollars overpriced. It didn't help that the massage therapist talked the entire time during my massage about himself. Disappointed in my experience I have thanked my family for the gift certificate but I have adviced then not to do business here again. Ps. It's been 4 days since my massage and I still feel like a truck ran me over. It's unfortunate that I can't review personnel. More than half of my appointments have been cancelled in the last seven months. I've had appointments cancelled by three different workers at this one location. Four appointments cancelled since August of 2022. Your 60 minute massage is always whittled down to 35-40 minutes. Appt time 3:00pm, I'm on time in fact early yet I sit and wait for the massage person to come get me. Now it's 3:07 I finally get in the room. They have their pad and start to ask me questions which I've answered already every time I come in. They leave for you to undress...everyone wears easy to remove clothes of course but still don't come back in till 3:15. Most of them are quite but every once in a while you get the person who wants to talk. If you get an add on they take the time off??? Really? I'm paying extra for it and you ADD it to my time. Smh All of a sudden it's 3:50 and your time is up. Where is your reasoning behind that? Why should I pay for you to straighten your room back? Schedule 15 minutes between clients. It is cheaper then most salons so I guess you get what you pay for but when you add tip that's not so cheap. One more thing you can't find your person either because they have a turn over so you are constantly searching for that one person that's just spot on. Sad. Back in January I signed up for a year of massages with good intentions of using them. A short time later I became ill and was not able to take advantage of my agreement. When I contacted massage envy and explained the circumstances, I was told that I could not cancel. While I was sick, my credit card continued to be charged every month. When my husband realized we were still being charged 10 months later (never having even used a single massage) he contacted them and was told to complete a request to cancel and it would be reviewed. I asked the receptionist to recommend a therapist who had good hands and knew how to work on those areas. She suggested Tanisha, so I made an appointment to see her, and she was just what I needed. She knew how to work the kinks out of my back and relieve the leg cramps that had been bothering me for months. She was very attentive to my requests to apply more or less pressure in the areas she was working on, and she always asked how I was doing. Then I got told that there is a 10 min consultation and it's deducted from my massage time! 5 mins at the beginning and 5 after the massage. Never have I heard this. Then to a surprise. The consults did not last 10 mins at all. Then my massage honestly really sucked. I asked the girl if she could put pressure on my knots and what she said was "I target that area more when you lie on your back" and did not do what I had asked of her. Went in for a much needed deep tissue massage. I've been powerlifting for almost a year and it really has my muscles beat up. Daniel was able to really get into my traps as well as release all the tension in my IT band which was giving me terrible knee pain. After my massage Daniel took the time to advise me on things I could do to help with the pain and muscle imbalances I've been experiencing.
