I had an unpleasant and unprofessional experience at this location. My massage was scheduled for 4pm and I was called back to the massage room way after 4. When I was finally ready in the room, it was clearly at least 4:15 or later. I scheduled a 90 minute and it didn't seem like it. The whole experience felt rushed. The only thing that made the experience feel like a massage was the hot stones. When it was over, I didn't feel like I had a massage. Then the checkout experience was unprofessional. I had a gift card for $100 and a $25 credit...the receptionist only charged my gift card and seemed to not be able to locate the $25. In which she got louder with me as if I couldn't hear her. It was rude and unprofessional. I left a tip out of courtesy, but I should not have done so. After an email review the director contacted me via text over the course of 2 days but never called to rectify the situation. This was very frustrating and unprofessional because I as a customer shouldn't have to chase a business down for reparations. Also, business issues should not be a text message, but a phone call. I only write reviews for exceptional service or bad service. I went to this location for the first time this evening and left there very disappointed. The therapist that I had wasn't good. I could have done what she did without being trained and licensed. She lacked technique, did not go deep enough on my shoulders, missed a whole section of my arm and only did 45 minutes of what was supposed to be a one hour massage. The massage wasn't worth the $59 introductory price that I paid; I get better massages at another place in the area for $45. I would never knowingly pay the full $99 price for the service that I had this evening. I am only giving this place 2 stars because the interior is decent for this area although not what one would get at nice spas. I am not sure that I will spend $99 on another therapist to give this place a 2nd chance. Update: the day after I posted this review I received a call from the manager at this location. She apologized for my experience and wanted to make things right. She inquired about what I was needing / type of massage / technique wanted, etc. and then recommended that I see Connie at no cost to me. Connie was fantastic! She gave a great massage and was able to chip away at some of the knots that have built up over some stressful months. My husband got me the massage year contract. I've tried multiple massage therapists at this time. I didn't want to write a review until i had most of my services because people have off days. My experience at this location was rather mid. One of my therapist at one of my first massages was great with her skills but she was super sick and coughing and sniffling everywhere. I felt so uncomfortable but didn't know how to tell her that she shouldn't work like that. This happened twice. I also added the hot stones to my massages and even though I had paid for it at the end of my appointment they tried to charge me again for them twice at the end of my service. The best experience i had here was with Aurora. She is amazing and knows what she is doing. Today's appointment I called a to reschedule, but i wanted to reschedule with her and I told them this over the phone they said "yes she has today at 1pm" which I replied great! Then i came in today and they gave me a different person named Lily. I just figured Aurora wasn't available or couldn't make it today. The massage was okay. She was very nice but I asked for firm pressure and it was more light to medium. When i went to check out they said for booking with Lily there was an up charge. I was never told this previously since i had originally booked for a different masseuse. They did not remove the up charge which i don't mind paying if im aware before my massage not after the fact and simply because she was not the person i wanted my appointment with. I have been coming to see Lily for almost 4 years now. She has literally been a life saver for me. When I started it was right after a back surgery and due to the pain in my shoulders I figured that's what I'd have surgery on next. Thanks to Lily I have no pain in my shoulders to this day and she pushed back the carpal tunnel surgery I needed for over a year. I swear she is an angel on earth. The staff is always awesome. I will say out of all the spas I have visited this one was the least impressive, and that started the moment I tried to make an appointment. Called earlier in the week for an appointment, and was left on hold for almost 5 minutes. I hung up, and made the appointment online. (That should've been my first clue about the front desk staff.) Arrived for my appointment the day of, and my temperature was not checked, and staff were not wearing masks. Things I expected from the website regarding COVID. I was not offered a glass of water or to use the restroom. Things I'm used to after being a member of Hand and Stone Foot Massage for a couple years. The overall appeal of the lobby also isn't up to par with other facilities. I found it ironic that some of the seating options didn't include backs to the chairs. Especially since lots of people come to get massages due to back problems. When my masseuse came to get me for my massage she had her phone in hand, and barely looked up to acknowledge me. I had to ask to go to the restroom. When I got there another customer was waiting for the staff to return with paper towels. How is no one staying on top of this? It's a spa. I utilize the other restroom, and to say it is unkempt is an understatement. It looks like a restaurant bathroom. It doesn't smell nice, no soft lighting, nice towels, or soap. Literally the basics. When I returned to my masseuse, who was still texting by the way, I noticed her attire. Never have I been to a spa without a dress code. Jeans. A hat on the head. And NO MASK. No mask the entire massage. This is probably my own fault. I should've asked about the rules regarding masks, but again my experience at other spas during the pandemic had me thinking everyone was following the same protocols. The massage room itself also left a lot to be desired. I was not asked what kind of music I wanted. The pillows and sheets, while clean, looked dingy. I was not asked about targeted areas, pressure, etc. I will say the massage itself was fine. 6 out of 10. I've had better, and I've had worse. I go to leave, and I'm offered a membership. One of the girls at the desk is clearly new or easily distracted, because she kept repeating herself. I observed that with her interactions with guests while I was waiting. It was then I realized she was probably the one who left me on hold, and from my assumption for no good reason as they surely did not appear busy. Answers to her questions. Would I get a membership here? Hell no. Would I even return for massage? Absolutely not. I would drive to another location before returning to this one 5 mins from my house. read more

As I was checking out the one girl was itemizing my charges back to me except I didn't add hot stones to my service. Then, I was told that I did and I my reaction is "Seriously" because now I am being called a liar and to my face. It's the way they handled the confusion. When you come out of a massage - we are a tad groggy and like you think anyone could get away with not paying for hot stones, oils, etc. The second girl shamed me for my reaction. Again, the conversation was between A & B but C decided to literally butt in and shame me for my reaction.... As if what I pay a month via a membership is not enough! Now on top of that fact, they are up charging you for certain masseuse's. Justifying it by claiming they have earned additional certifications. Massage Heights Summerwood Location was recommend by a friend. I usually go to Massage Envy but there was not a location close. I called at least 3 days in advance to book an appointment and informed the staff at the time I only wanted a male masseuse. I was told they only have one male masseuse. I scheduled my appointment and was immediately advised about the late and cancellation policy; which states if you are late there is a 50% charge and you forfeit your appointment. If you cancel or no show is 100% (standard policy). The day of (today) I get up and drive 25 mins to the location and when I'm 10 mins away I get a call from them telling me the male didn't show up to work. They proceed to tell me he wasn't at work the day prior either. After asking questions they tell me he is sick. I kindly remind them of their cancellation policy should I cancel within 24 hours and the lady gets frustrated with me. I was totally inconvenienced get up early on a Saturday morning driving 25 min to them only for them to cancel with me 10 mins away. Then she told me she could try to fit me in later in the day with so older lady. When I reminded her I only wanted to work with a man again she got rude smacking her lips using and over using the work "well." I would not recommend ANYONE to go to this place. How dare you inconvenience me and get made at me for your inconvenience. She didn't offer me anything to accommodate the inconvenience. I guess my time, efforts or my gas didn't really matter to her. I normally don't review places but it's hard not to with a transformation as amazing as this one. My two daughters have both suffered from some pretty severe acne ever since their teen years. After just 4 months, their skin has improved so much! Their aestheticians, Cindy and Crisol, both take the time to customize each facial that they get according to the condition that their skin is in that month. They also take the time to educate and recommend the right products for them because each skin type is different. I had to switch to a different therapist (Yamilka, She is excellent) but massage is one of those services that you have to find the right person that works for you and feel totally comfortable. This place is a scam! They talk you into getting a membership and then don't let you cancel it. I was told initially that I'd have to have my membership for 12 months before I was allowed terminate; I agreed as that seems like a reasonable policy. I've now had a membership with them since 2020 and they are now not allowing me to cancel. They want a medical reason or a notice of relocation of 25+ miles in order for them to "consider" allowing me to cancel a membership that I PAY FOR! They are also charging me a cancellation fee which I was never told about. Be careful of these golden contracts with no end! read more

I had the worst experience today at this location. I arrived 9n time for my appointment. Once I filled out the form I waited 15 minutes for the tech to come out. She came out looked at me and frowned. Then said are you ready. She never addressed me by name. She asked me twice if I needed to use the restroom and twice. I said no. She brought me into a room and said take off your top, jewelry and shoes. Just flat like that. I asked why did I need to take off my shirt and she responded because I do in order to get the facial. I undressed and when she returned to the room I was sitting on the bed. She became irritated and said you need to be laying down and covered up. As if knew that. At this point she began to try to wrap towels around my head and she once again became very irritated. She made nasty comments about my hair which was wrapped under a bonnet. I wore the bonnet because the hairstyle I had could not be manipulated. I was never informed that I needed to have my hair styled a certain way in order to have a facial. Had I known that would have accomodated. Once the tech made the comment about my hair "ugghhh what is this" I was done. I got up off the table and requested that I reschedule my appointment to another day so that could have another tech. She then said yeah yeah and stood there until I got dressed. I had never felt solo and offended in my life. I walked to the front desk and asked to reschedule and the front desk person just said yeah we'll just cancel you. I left there nearly in tears from being treated so bad. I asked to speak to the manager before leaving and was told she was in a meeting. After arriving and being taken back to a room for what I thought was my facial, I was brought back to the front desk by the masseuse who was very sweet might I mention. After explaining to the girls at the front how I called earlier and made a reservation for a facial with a Groupon, one of the girls looked at me dumb founded and told me that all of the estheticians were gone for the day and I would have to reschedule. I was obviously frustrated about the situation and made a comment saying "well the girl who scheduled my reservation must've been half way listening because along with scheduling the wrong service she also spelled my name wrong after having me spell it out over the phone multiple times" The other girl then proceeds to say "well you didn't asked for a facial and you didn't say you were using a Groupon either because I'm the one who scheduled your appointment". I couldn't believe she basically called me a liar and then walked to the back as if the conversation was over. As much as I wanted to tell that sorry excuse of a receptionist off, I didn't. I have experienced many massages and this one was the worst. Her hand and oil were cold. She had no Massage Technique and We are really disappointed with that experience, Also if you're going to have a tranquil area then it should be just that tranquil- look up the word, Your had employees as well as clients where on there phones speaking loudly as if they were at a sporting event or just walking through that area speaking as if no one was actually trying to relax and enjoy there experience. I have been given a massage with several therapists here for a year now. I never have a bad thing to say about any of them. I was skeptical about it being a chain, but the ratings on yelp were so good I decided to give it a try. My favorite therapist so far is Glenn. He was professional, respectful, catered to my every need, and the best massage I have ever had. His ability to keep equal pressure is amazing. I feel great afterwards. He has been doing this profession for 7 years. Glenn works every muscle and does not just go through the motions. He was very respectful with being a man massaging a lady. I had an amazing experience today with Meka!!! She brought me back and we discussed what type of massage I would like and the pressure. She let me know ahead of time that she was heavy handed which allowed me to dictate if I still wanted med firm. I switched to med. I told her my sensitive spots on my legs and for the first time someone listen!! Her pressure was PERFECT. Massage didn't feel rushed and I'm a fan of her music choice, slow jazz! In regards to COVID...she has a lil sign on her mirror letting u know she is not playing with covid lol...really it's a small sign that just asks for you to keep your mask on during your massage. Once I read it I was comfortable knowing she's a person that's remaining safe as well which allowed me to relax. His appointment was at 5 and he said that he enjoyed the experience and that the location was nice. Why 3 stars, their advertisement and wording of services is misleading. When I called to make the reservation, everyone was extremely nice especially because I reschedule twice. I booked a 1 hour massage and was asked if I wanted to add on any elevations, I added two. On the day of his appointment, my husband arrived early and was called back at 5:10. I checked his receipt and he paid at 6:05. If you do the math, less than an hour and we are not counting the fact that he had to get undress and dressed. I called and left a message in regards to my concerns. Kayla promptly called me back and again she was very pleasant and answered my questions. Please be aware, a 1 hour massage is actually a 50 min hands on massage. Elevations are not add ons but rather add ins. When you pay extra for an elevation you loose time from your massage so that the masseuse can focus on your elevation. No I'm not new to massage services, I am new to Massage Heights. We were considering a membership but now that I understand how they work, it's not worth it. read more

I've only had an issue with them once, my sis went into labor at the last minute and left me with her baby and I couldn't make it and the girl said they would still take away my credit and she ended by "congratulating me on being an auntie again". The massage session was good, no complaints towards the therapist or price. My only concern is that I want to cancel my membership due to personal issues and it hasn't been done. I'm told to wait for manager to contact me and it's been 3 days, I was charged and did not attend, NOT because I was a no show, but because they canceled due to the therapist not being there (I still have voicemail) ! I was charged and have that credit for a reschedule, but I don't want to reschedule anymore. I want to cancel everything and nothing has been done to help. The front desk ladies might not have access to it, I understand that. So I need the manager to cancel that membership and refund my money. If you need an exact reason to why I can't do the appointments anymore, my dad is in the hospital. He was the person taking the massages, I'm sure you should be able to understand now why he can't attend.
