I expected to be pitched the membership, but not three times though. Besides that, the massage itself wasn't good either. She also opted to get a facial, which they did not provide. I must say that my massage was excellent! I even purchased a 90-package afterwards with no regrets. With good intent to fulfill this obligation, a few days later, my doctor did not agree. Due to my medical discrepancy, I contacted Massage Heights and explained, but only in a sentence or two. There was no need to argue, prove a point, or beg to get them to understand me. Wow! It was really a smooth transaction to get my money back and cancel the contract. My husband bought me a 6 month membership for my first mother's day - super thoughtful. The massages were great - its the business that is shady and full of bull. My membership was to expire on 10/11, but my husband forgot to call and cancel. They need 30 days notice to cancel, so we had to pay for an additional month beyond what we planned. So he called on 10/14 to cancel the membership, so that we wouldn't be billed again after 11/11. Spoke to the girl and cancelled over the phone, no problem. I went in for my next scheduled massage on 11/11, verified that my membership was cancelled and so I only had one massage left, and scheduled that final massage for 12/6. After my fantastic massage by Russ - seriously, he's great, schedule with him if you like deep massages - i was informed that no, my membership was not cancelled, as the form was never filled out. HOLD THE PHONE. what form? there's a form? my husband and I were never notified that a form needed to be filled out. So i asked if I could go ahead and fill out the form, but since it's in the records that we called to cancel on 10/14, could it please be effective that date, as we just had a new baby and no more room in the budget for luxuries like massages. per the "manager" on duty at that time, "If you had signed it by 11/11, then we wouldn't charge again. But since you didn't we have to charge you again." Here's is where I got pissed. I was there on 11/11. I verified with the check out girl that my membership was cancelled. If a form needed to be signed, that was the time to do it. Obviously the company fancies itself a gym, and wants to make it impossible to cancel the membership. The "manager" assured me that she would make sure the charge didn't get run through, after I made a scene in the very crowded waiting area, and I'd get a call on Monday to verify. Monday comes, no call. On 12/11, lo and behold, the charge goes through. My husband called to try to work it out with the manager before disputing with his credit card company, since it's the decent thing to do, and she was "on a conference call and would call back". Well, no call back as of yet. We will be disputing the charge with the credit card company. It's a real shame. I enjoyed my massages here, and had planned on signing myself up for a membership again after I went back to work. But the shady practices for "member retention" at this company make me want to pay more money for a spa experience. Don't go here. They are just out to keep running your credit card as long as they can. read more

I recently went to Massage Heights and Michael did an excellent job. He used the right pressure for my deep tissue massage it was an awesome experience. He communicated well and listened to my concerns. I have chronic pain and he was able to address all of my concerns. It's too bad he is not on the schedule regularly. The staff at this location are average. The customer service is below par. Also, the staff at the front desk do not inform you of everything before you sign up for a membership. Due to being ill informed I lost 3 hours worth of services at this location, which is a lot of money! The reason I had credit for 3 hours is because this location never has availability. You call to make an appointment and they just say no we don't have anything available and hang out. You have to pull teeth to figure out what is open in the future. read more

Last night I needed a massage and my normal therapist was unavailable. I tried out Mark and was not disappointed! He had very good pressure and a systematic approach to ensuring every muscle was addressed. He was flexible when I mentioned a few things that I really enjoyed about massage that was not his specialty. He adapted quickly and it was a an educational, relaxing and Therapeutic Massage. If I ever need a sport massage, I'll make sure to try him out for that, too! read more

My brother got me a gift card for an hour facial, which I used today. I was impressed that this location actively advertises to check in and get a free "elevation" with your massage or facial. However, past that initial check in, I was disappointed. My facial was for an hour and felt very rushed. The woman doing the facial went pretty fast and did not explain anything that she was putting on my face. I had just come from a baby shower, so I had makeup on my face. I assumed that she had taken it off with one of the numerous things she was rubbing on and off on my skin. However, when I looked in the mirror at the end, my makeup was smeared everywhere. I think she basically gave me a facial on top of my makeup. Next, while doing extractions on my face, she used her nails instead of an extraction tool! I literally had nail marks on my face from where she was extracting blackheads. Finally, when the service was over, she flipped on the lights and told me it was over. What the heck?? How about easing me out of relaxation... Overall,not a great experience. read more

I signed up for a membership a few years back and have used and enjoyed the massages from the start. I have a hectic work schedule which involves travelling at a moment's notice for long periods of time. I moved to the downtown area and began using the Midtown branch. I tried cancelling multiple times and I got the run around every time, i.e. I had to physically go to this branch to cancel, I would be receiving a call from a "cancelling agent" which never once happened, and so on...I just recently went to this branch and cancelled my membership and asked if I could get some of my paid sessions back. I asked for them in gift cards, if I could have my paid sessions rated at the non-member full price to cut down the sessions so they would still make money. I asked to speak to the manager, but she was "on the phone and could not talk to me and she will call me within the hour". That phone call never happened. The front desk people are great, along with the massage therapists, but the management and the business is terrible. Do not sign up for a membership. read more

I received a massage from my husband for Christmas. It was for an hour and a half! I also asked to add on a hot towel cold stone facial. So I get there early like they suggested, my massage was at 1:00 and I got there at 12:45. I got in the room at 1:05 and had a wonderful massage by Shalanda. She included the facial and when she said she was finished I looked at the clock and it was 2:20! Now, when I signed up for the massage it was supposed to be 1 1/2 hours with the facial. I was not impressed when I went to the front desk to check out and was told, after the fact, that the facial was incorporated into the hour and a half!!! Tried this place out because I got an "introductory offer". I Scheduled a 2 hour deep tissue massage. The guy they gave me (he said his name was "Johnny") sounded knowledgeable during the initial interview, but my massage was more of a torture session than a tension release. I usually ask for more pressure, but with this guy I had to ask him to completely stop more than once .I left out of the massage exhausted, not relaxed. I've been getting regular massages for a few years now and I've never incurred the level of pain or had such a bad experience. I will not be enrolling into a membership here nor will I ever go back for an individual massage. Apparently this place is VERY hit/miss and the masseuses don't stay here very long. I wouldn't sign a contract with a place that couldn't guarantee my service... that's just a scam. read more

Horrible customer service! These people know how to get you when you want to cancel your membership. I tried to cancel over the phone, they told me that I have to cancel in person and sign a cancellation form. I moved to Missouri City and couldn't go there in time before the date they charged my credit card. So they charged me for another month. I spoke to the associate and they referred to the manager and I was told once I came in and cancelled they will allow me to use the rest of my hours with no expiration date. I knew I had about 2 1/2 hrs left and when I called today to schedule an appointment and verify how many hours I had left they told me my membership was cancelled and I couldn't use the 2 1/2 hrs that I had since it expired on Feb 28. No refund and no massage ($150 value) and all they could say was they will let the director know. What a way to do business to please their customers!!! Never going back! read more

Long story short: I paid for two massages, both 1 hour each. We maybe got 25 minutes of massage therapy. Dont waste your time or money. Read the reviews, most are similar in theme. They charge you for the full time, but only give you 1/2 of the time you pay for. Then call you and say sorry and offer you everything but your money back to make up for what they should have done in the first place. I posted this back in May but for some reason it got sent to not so thought I would repost it and use *** in the place of the actual curse words that was told to me. Sad to say I have still not managed to get the courage for another massage and not sure I ever will I have been going to Massage Heights Shadow Creek for some time now. I own a business and usually wait and save up for the 2 hr. massages. I was getting massages from Kevin up until this month. On 5/20/16 I was recommended to Johnny. I like deep tissues and they said he was the best since Kevin had left the Company. I agreed to a 2 hr. massage with him and have regretted it since it began. He was very unprofessional, and when I told him it was hurting, he informed me he wasn't even doing a deep tissue just a firm massage. I have never felt so much pain in my life. I told him I had fibromyalgia and he proceeded to tell me that I didn't have it the doctors didn't know what they were talking about and after a month of coming to him he could fix me. I would tell him the pain was too much he would tell me EXACT WORDS " OH H** I'M NOT EVEN USING THAT MUCH PRESSURE" I said not sure I could take any more pressure he then told me (EXACT WORDS) "OH S*** SUFFER THROUGH 60 SECONDS AND IT WILL GET EASIER". He told me that I would have all colors on my skin to rise to the surface due to the toxins in my body, when I left I was so bruised up that I looked like I was beaten by this man. He laughed that he has husbands come in all the time complaining, he bruised their wives and thought it was funny. I had his hand prints on my arms and bruises all over my upper body and still do. I took pictures of them and went in the place the following Monday and talked to the Manager and she was in shock when she looked at me, I told her I wanted to cancel my membership and told her what he said and she said it was unacceptable and would talk with him. She was nice enough to refund my last payment, BUT my problem is how can someone literally massage the hell out of someone and get by with this as many times as he said he has. He made the comment he has been there for 5 yrs. and it was time for him to leave soon, he never stays after 5 yrs. due to contract don't give him what he is worth. I have pictures of all the bruises and I will be checking into more of what can be done. This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I am terrified to even think about getting another massage. read more
