I woke up at the hotel to the worst neck and upper back pain of my life. I was only visiting so I wasn't sure whether to book an appointment with a chiro, masseuse or both. All I knew was I couldn't continue my week in the condition I was in. I could barely move my head and I felt absolutely M-I-S-E-R-A-B-L-E. I searched Yelp and found a few options, but Massage Infinity was the only place that could not only take me the same day, but even within a couple hours. When I arrived the man and woman at the front desk were very friendly and they had me indicate on a piece of paper which parts of my body were troublesome. I was quickly escorted to a simple, but clean room. It was dark and the music was calm and relaxing. My massage therapist, named David, said hello once I was tucked in and began his magic. He didn't try to small talk with me, which I appreciated.. He was not "gentle" by any means, but not overly aggressive, either. I would say he was very intentional and he knew exactly how much pressure to use in each area. It was simply the best 90 minute trigger point/acupressure massage I've ever had and I've had a lot of massages in my life. This place is a gem and I'm OBSESSED with how my first visit went. Prices are reasonable and the place is super clean, and BIG! There are plenty of private rooms for the massages and I passed by the area where they do couples massages (foot massage chairs look so comfy). I stumbled in during my layover and needed someone who was a licensed massage therapist, because of my neck injury. I went into the private room, got undressed and under the white sheet on the massage bed (chair massages don't do any justice for me). The music was super calming and relaxing. I got a one hour deep tissue massage with lotion, hot oils and hot stones. The massage therapist was sure to ask me what I needed worked on and he hit EVERY SPOT I was feeling sore. SOLO WOMEN BEWARE. I will no longer be patronizing Massage Infinity. I have had several massages here in the past and enjoyed them all, but this was my first time going alone. Today I was placed in a private room with a male therapist, neither of these experiences being new to me. Once the massage began however, I grew more and more uncomfortable. The therapist frequently exposed more of my body than necessary to perform the service (usually one part out of the sheet at a time). He applied an unusual amount of oil and engaged in a labored breathing pattern. I thought maybe I was overreacting, but the techniques of the massage confirmed my suspicion. The way he positioned his body was not simply to gain leverage (as is industry standard), but to maximize additional touchpoints with my bare skin. On more than 1 occasion, I felt his leg, groin and torso touching or hovering inappropriately close to my body. He would maintain contact with the small of my back while he massaged other areas, which I'd never experienced before. I left the massage confused, uncomfortable and violated. Let me start by saying that I will not frequent this place ever again! When I arrived, I was able to get in earlier than my original appointment; however, the receptionist did not have me complete any paperwork and he informed me that if I wanted a deep tissue massage I would have to pay $15 more. Well, I did and it wasn't worth the extra $15 or the tip that I left! Many of the reviews I read were good, but I should've trusted the ones that weren't. I was walked back into my room, which was quite cold, so I asked for an extra blanket; however, the guy could only offer a towel instead. Then the masseuse (#8) came in and apparently he was sick or something because he continued to cough/sniffle the entire massage (he did have on a mask). As someone who does not desire to get sick I didn't appreciate not having the option to be with someone else who was not under the weather. Now onto the massage itself, I've had many deep tissue massages, however, this was more like someone just beating on the spine of my back rather then really rubbing & working out the muscles. In addition, about 60 minutes of a 90 minute massage was focused on my back alone. There was very little focus on the rest of my body esp my hands and feet. After the massage was over, while I paid for the "deep tissue" and gave my oh so reluctant tip, the masseuse lingered to wait and see what his tip would be, which was unprofessional. Also, the masseuse not going by names and rather by numbers is something that I didn't like either and made the experience a little impersonal. I think the fact that this place advertises at reasonable prices is what gets people in the door; however, I now know why I'd rather spend more money...for better, personable service! Lastly, three almost four days later, I'm less relaxed and my back hurts more now then when I entered. I would not recommend this massage (I use that term loosely to anyone I know)! read more

I did something today I've never done before - walked out of a massage. First, when I made this appointment I asked to have the therapist that I had last time (I've been there twice before for ionic foot bath and foot massage) but was told that they didn't keep records with that information and that each therapist is given a number instead. That made me very suspicious, but I went ahead and made the appt. anyway. I'm a massage therapist at Hand & Stone in East Cobb, and was really looking forward to being worked on myself. I had purchased a Groupon which was supposed to include a 60-minute massage, aromatherapy, and hot stones. When I arrived I was told that the Groupon was good for a Swedish massage, and some hot towels and hot stones at the end. After using the restroom, I was led to a room with a massage table covered only with a sheet by a woman that I have seen there before but I'm not sure what her name is. I, of course, assumed that she was my massage therapist. After she left the room, I undressed and lay face down on the table. Then a man entered and put a bolster under my ankles. Without introducing himself or asking me what I needed, he began compressions from neck to calves, over and over again. Afer about 10-15 minutes of this, I asked him if he was going to massage me skin-on-skin. He asked me if that was what I wanted. I said yes, and after another 5-10 minutes of him working on my back, I asked him if how much time was left. He said 20 minutes, so I asked him to move on to my calves and feet. I made this request at least 6 times. When he wasn't compliant, I finally requested that he either honor my request or stop. He did stop and left the room. In a few minutes the woman who had escorted me to the room came in and explained that the first 10 minutes are for warming up the muscles (when you are covered with a sheet) and then the massage is divided into 10-minute increments for the back, legs,etc. In other words, they have a set routine that they go through, and it doesn't matter what you want or need. Apparently, you the customer are also a number! I decided I would rather leave. It was 11:20 (my massage started at 11:00) so there was actually 40 minutes left, not 20. I had to ask this woman several times to leave so that I could get dressed. I have never experienced such a lack of professionalism at a massage establishment in my life. I have been a massage therapist myself for almost 29 years. To be clear, this is NOT how a typical massage goes. Typically, you meet your massage therapist in the lobby and are escorted to a massage room. Then he or she consults with you about what you need and any health concerns that you have. You agree IN ADVANCE to a treatment plan and after the massage have a few minutes to discuss your experience to ensure that your needs have been met. Please do not judge all massage establishments by the lack of professionalism displayed by this one. read more

Came here for a much needed post surgery lymph massage and it was amazing!! The front desk lady was so accommodating - she let my tiny pup stay in his carrier with me. I had Ruby as my masseuse and she has the hands of an angel. I was worried about feeling pain because of the surgery but she applied the perfect amount of pressure and I saw my swelling go down tremendously after the first week. Came back again for a second massage this week and I can't wait for my results to be even better. She not only does lymph, but she'll throw in a body massage too and I didn't even know I needed it. And i saw this massage place. I got a one hour deep tissue. I have to say my masseur is GREAT! (#7 just for your curiosity) He explained why certain parts on my back I felt a little bit painful when he pressed. (It's call good pain) the experience is amazing. The room is not big but so clean. I have been to some other places, some of them have wired smell but not here. The waiting area is clean and bright.
