This review is for the Pest Control Service and my technician Shane. Over the years the interior of my home has only been serviced a handful of times because the exterior pest control is so good. My wife found a bug in our house recently. When our tech Shane called to let us know he would be at our house my wife asked him to treat the inside also. BEWARE! The sales guy is very good at selling. That's as far as I can go with positive feedback. They killed our grass & reassured me that it was part of the process. They tried to convince us to replace the grass, which I refused. Then they billed us for shrub care we had NOT signed up for. I had all of the paperwork. They were unable to find a copy of our contract. When I asked to cancel, I was told their manager would have to approve & he would call me. He to this day has never called me. Instead I got a letter that they were going to send the past due (for the shrub charges) to collections. At that point I told them I would be reporting them to the BBB & my lawyer. They agreed to terminate our contract. When we signed for lawn services, we also signed or pest services. Part of the treatment was a complete spray of our attic spaces. They did part of our attic, but after calling 3 times & asking for the rest to be done, I finally decided to terminate that contract as well. Since this happened to me, two of my neighbors fell prey to them, which is why I'm sharing this now. In both situations with my neighbors, their grass was killed & HOA demanded it be addressed immediately. Massey negotiated my neighbors pay part of the cost to install new grass. I truly believe that is their play. Kill your grass & then make you pay to have new grass installed. read more

I was with Massey for several years. Twice now, they did not take care of the pests in my yard and replaced sod at their expense. The 1st time 7 pallets were replaced and the 2nd time about 200 S.F... However, after the new sod began to grow it took a tremendous amount of water. I have spent over $1,000 in additional water bills to get the new sod growing. I pre-paid for my service on an annual basis, when I cancelled I was assured I would receive a pro-rated refund. It took, over 20 phone calls and at least 3 months to get my refund. Beware! read more

Nick from Massey Services in Orange City is a Bug Killing Machine! I was having a bug issue like so many in Florida and called Massey since I was using their lawn service. Nick came out and in 2 visits almost all of the bugs were on their backs. He's an older guy like me but got in and under the cabinets and appliances and always had a pleasant smile. I stated I was using Massey for my lawn but when I caught the lawn manager, different from pest control, in a lie I ran him off and switched to 5 Star Lawn Service n DeBary and got a better looking lawn for less money. I will continue using Nick from Massey to keep my home bug free. read more

So after posting my previous review, I received contact from the office manager. He apologized profusely, and indicated that he would provide complimentary service for the next quarter. He stated that he would call me in February to see if I wanted to continue pest service at a discounted rate. He sent one of his sales managers out to the house, and we spoke about the pest service. I mentioned that I had issues with my irrigation system. The manager for the irrigation department later came out, and indicated that it could either be bad solenoids, the timer, or both. They repaired a broken sprinkler head at no charge (thanks fellas), and indicated that a new timer would cost $285 installed. When I asked about the cost of solenoids, which they told me I had four, I was told they were around $20 a piece. I said, "So essentially if the timer isn't the only problem, $80 more should fix it?" I was told that was the case. They indicated that they would be out to install the timer on Thursday or Friday. They did not show up on either day. On the following Monday, I received a phone call that they were on the way. The problem was, I was at breakfast in Tennessee. Luckily, my parents were able to go over to my house to supervise. After I returned the following week, I couldn't get the sprinkler system to work. I called the office, and eventually the sales guy called me back. He apologized for not getting with me sooner, but he was also on vacation (this was just after Christmas 2019). I was told that the installer told "the lady that was there" that the solenoids were no good. I expressed that it was Massey's responsibility to tell me that there was a problem, not my mother's. He apologized again for not following up and indicated that he would come out and provide an estimate. He told me that to replace four solenoids and to run new wire, I was looking at $430. He also promised to bring me the user manual for the timer they installed. When I asked him what happened to $20 per solenoid, he told me that $20 was their part cost, and he departed. After thinking about it for awhile, I called him and expressed my displeasure for being quoted one price, and then being given one more than five times higher. He then told me that he never provided the $20 per solenoid figure. I decided to replace the solenoids myself. After digging out around the valves, I discovered that I had FIVE solenoids. I replaced the three little cover system with a large irrigation box, rewired and replaced all FIVE solenoids, and filled everything back in in about two hours. It all cost less than $100, including the $45 irrigation box. Here we are in February of 2021, over a year later, and I'm still waiting on my timer's user manual. These people are incompetent and unethical. Also, a year later, and the manager still hasn't called me. read more

My bank sent a check for the payment of my next year's subscription service. I had decided not to renew the plan, preferring to go with another service who offered better coverage. So, I called on 8/7, telling them I wanted a refund because I was not renewing when my contract expired on 8/9. They said the manager would have to call me. He didn't call; so I called again on 8/8. Again, the manager would have to call me. I waited 2.5 hours and called again. He finally called me back at 4:30, said he didn't know I had wanted to cancel, said that they don't do refunds (even though the renewal period hadn't started), then said he would have to talk to his regional manager. I think he is waiting to call back until the renewal starts on 8/10; so that he can say that their policy is to not refund on an existing policy. I am currently researching Florida law. This is not over! 8/27/18 Still no refund! read more
