First I would like to say that I don't like writing negative reviews. But this is an example of service that is unacceptable and clearly demonstrated poor business practices. I received an evening call midweek from friends who were locked out of their house. They were both sick and needed to get back in their house. It was after 10pm. So I called and the individual who took my call said that I would be receiving a call shortly about setting up service. After 20 minutes, I decided to contact another service provider. That service provider took my call, returned the call within five minutes, contacted my distressed friends and got them safely back into their house. I don't know what happened to this provider. Not even a follow up call to say they couldn't make it. Definitely not a good way of operating a 24 hour locksmith service. Not much else to say. read more

Ordering a locksmith is always a tricky...because you want someone obviously that you can trust. You will also want someone to get there quickly. I requested a quote for a friend of mine. I took pictures of all four doors that needed to be re-keyed and sent the pics to them I was given a quote based on the pictures. Super quick response! That quote did go up...that is because they were double sided locks and a weird lock on the outside patio door. I was given an approximate time that the technicians would show up. I got a phone call letting me know they would be running behind due to a previous job taking longer than expected. Which I thought was very nice and very courteous because a lot of times you do not get calls giving you a heads up. I was very appreciative of that. Reuven showed up...earlier than they said they thought they would be there. Reuven is a complete master of his craft...not only was he courteous, kind and professional, but he was quick. He knows how to handle his tools. He had the locks removed in seconds. We were re-keyed all over in less than an hour. It would've been sooner if there wasn't that weird tricky patio door lock. Before he left, Reuven walked around and checked every single lock with me and made sure that everything was working. He showed and explained to me how to work the back patio door which is a little tricky. (It's the door)...the locks work better than before. Smooth as silk! I have another job for them. Quick response to a request for quote, was able to arrange for them to come the next day, which was a Saturday. Chose them because their estimate came in at the middle of the pack, neither the most expensive nor the cheapest. David, the technician, arrived on time and looked at my 4 locks, then quoted me an amount that was 250% of the original quote. I pushed back, he called the boss, and after going back and a forth twice, we finally settled on the original quote plus a yelp review. Did he decide to jack up the quote because I'm a woman and women are less likely to haggle? The whole thing took about an hour. Three of the locks are smooth as silk; one required adjusting and finessing and still doesn't fit quite right. The problematic lock is usable, but not as smooth as it was before they changed it and it's a fight to lock it from the outside. I'm not sure I'd use these guys again. read more

I recently bought a 2007 Mazda MX-5 with the advanced key less entry system. probelm was that the seller only had the AUX and not a fob. Called arounded. Cheapest dealer wanted 440 for just the fob. not including labor and you had to program them in twos. Even the dealer said it would be wise to shop around since it would of been almost a grand for just 2 key fobs. So i called a few lock smiths. One even told me that he wasnt going to waste his time on such a job (guy was very rude and arrogant). So i kept calling around. a few others said they had never done one and would charge me even if they failed. So i got on Yelp. messaged a few. Daniel messaged me back almost instantly wanting to chat over the phone about my situation. He was very polite and even straight up told me that they might not be able to do it. But he wouldnt charge me if they couldn't find a solution. So within 45 mins one of his techs arrived. At first he was unable to figure out the programming. He must of spent a full hour trying various things and talking to others to find a solution. He walked me and showed me various things along the way. At the end, he got the fobs to work as they should!!!! Very happy with my experience with Master Locksmith. And added bonus, I asked about a lock in my house that needs to be replaced. My tool cabinet with the lost key was only partially opened by locksmith as he could not open all the drawers of the cabinet. So he fairly discounted his fee as he could not do anything further. I ended up using a prybar to break open the other drawers. Now cabinet does not lock anymore as lock system is broken. However, he did the best he could. I didn't actually use their service because I was suspicious, but they had all the hallmarks of that article up to the point where I broke contact. - My call went to a call center, who's only job was to take my contact info and address. They didn't know anything about the actual service - They could not provide me with any sort of quote other than $29.99 for the service call itself. - There is no "Master Locksmith" at the location listed here, and it is close to an actual locksmith, East Portland Locksmith. - The one star reviews below are mentioning harassment and other shady business practices. Okay I called super sad and frustrated because for some reason my elevator loves to suck my keys down into the abyss via the gap between the doors; so for them to be so patient on the phone during the first call was key for me. Asked to replace a lock and became very complicated having three different people call me for separate additional information. One guy from the company called my number aggressively telling me that I wasn't picking up the phone and to answer next time - I apologized. After the phone call ended, I checked my recent calls and it turns out no one even called my phone. Another person called me immediately after, telling me the same thing (to pick up the phone). At this point I was very upset and asked who the person was beforehand that called, and apparently it was the boss. In the end the price to replace our lock was higher than expected, and we ended up not going through with the transaction. The prices were definitely reasonable, including - $30 transportation fee but the dude that couldn't find our location for 20 min asked for $50. Overall, don't go to this business and save yourself the time and trouble. Their boss is rude and will potentially call your personal phone number just to harass you. UPDATE: I got three additional kiss-ass calls seconds after I posted this review to delete the review including the boss and one worker saying that he will get fired because of this. This business is ridiculous and a joke. After those additional phone calls, I wish giving 0 stars were an option. UPDATE 2: We have been getting phone calls from this company for the past 8 hours and I had finally called him back. He claims to not have any idea of what I'm talking about nor claim that he doesn't know who I am. Contrastingly, he claims that I will get phone calls 24/7 day to day until I take it to the police. This is the purest form of harassment and I am astonished on how immature this "boss" is. Please do not do business with this company, they are not professional at the slightest. read more
