I went in to get a couple house keys copied. I spent extra for special printed keys so I can tell what key goes to what lock. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He was rude and in a hurry.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One of my keys didn't work so, I came back to get it redone. He didn't want to redo it and was argumentative and rude again,he eventually replaced it with with a standard brass key after I paid extra for the specialty one, refusing to give me the kind of key, I originally purchased. I had 3 copies made of my house key. The work was done in less than one minute. Price was very reasonable, and the service was friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked the key maker, who I assume is the business owner, a question about graphite powder lock lubrication and got a very helpful answer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I got home I tested all three keys on every door lock in the house and they all worked flawlessly. Way back in the 20th century...... Keys used to be a piece of metal with a unique shape that fit into a hole in a lock. You turned it, the lock opened and that was that! Not anymore. Now they can have strips, they've got chips, batteries, gps, alarms. Need an extra key ...? We needed an extra key for our "new" car. Our 20th century rig, with just a strip of a key, was easily stolen from the parking lot right next store . The replacement has a key with a chip and one with remote door lock openers (pretty fancy, huh!!). After getting over the shock of paying more than $10 for a key to be copied, I handed Hamid just the simpler key. I lost my car keys & I called in to see what they could do to help. The man that helped me was so kind over the phone, which was a relief after a few stressful hours of looking for them. It was towards the end of his day & the shop would be closing soon but he offered to come to my car after he got off work to see what he could do. As I'd need a new key reprogrammed he walked me through the process of getting the title, going to the dealership, etc. A huge hassle. But his help & direction made the process so much easier. Key fob for old Land Rover completely fell apart. I had previously ordered a replacement fob anticipating the expected "death" of the one and only original. However, many places I went to would not cut the new key and program the fob. I was given the usual rhetoric: 'only a dealer can do it for you', ' can't because it's a European made vehicle', etc. I managed to McGiver the key blade into the ignition with a pair of pliers and the Fob taped to the top of pliers to hobble over to Rose City Lock and Safe. The gentleman( owner?) was so nice! He wasn't 100% sure he could get fob programmed but he was able to work pure magic!!! I drove away with new working fob in hand...er ignition- a happy customer! And BTW, cost me 120$, a FAR cry from the $500-600 dealer quotes I had been getting! Love giving the local guys my business!! Highly recommend!! read more

These guys were fantastic. I have a restaurant and we needed to rekey all exterior doors after our buildout. The gentleman I met with was on time, very communicative about what needed to get done, which was a lot more involved than what was imagined. He was efficient in his time. Took the locks out and back to his shop, and installed new locks with a master core, to be easily switched out in the future. He even advised on and installed an additional security part in one outdoor lock that could have been pried and broken. Very courteous and reasonably priced outfit. This is a pretty simple review - they are great. Fantastic, fast, pretty nice, good prices, easy to work with. No problems with any keys (work and mail), and they say if there is an issue to just bring the key back and they'll make it right (which is how it should be). This is a small store located conveniently next to Fred Meyers where I buy all my groceries. The prices are cheap. Service was quick and efficient. The keys worked perfectly which didn't happen with the duplicates I had made at the kiosk at Fred Meyers (what a waste!) The place is run by two gentlemen who have most likely been doing this a while and know their job. I would say skip minute key or any of those quick fix key making machines because if your key doesn't work you won't be able to get a refund or get it fixed!
