He even stuck around for an extra 20 minutes to carefully examine the lock after he discovered a flaw with the locking mechanism (I had already purchased it on my own - no fault of his). He carefully took it apart, took a close look, and ended up fixing it up so everything worked flawlessly. Add our story to the growing list of crazily positive experiences! We were showing our travel trailer to potential Craigslist buyers on a Sunday. When it came time to talk turkey, the buyer made one (mildly aggressive) demand: he wanted us to throw in the hitch from our truck. We were fine with that, but there was one hitch (awful, I know, but I had to do it): years ago we had secured the hitch to our truck via a locking pin. The lock in that pin had not endured the intervening years of weather well--it was corroded to the point that (even with a healthy dose of lubricant) our cheaply made key unceremoniously broke off in the lock. So we've got a buyer ready to hand us thousands of dollars for our trailer, but we can't get the stupid hitch off the truck!?! Needless to say, we were certain we were screwed. It would take a miracle to get a locksmith quickly on a Sunday, much less one that wouldn't charge us an appalling fee for such service. We called around a bit with no luck before trying Smiling Locksmith. Shockingly, he was amendable to the idea, but he was booked for the next hour or so. We pleaded with him about our time-sensitive situation, and he offered to confer with his next appointment to see if that person would consent to a little appointment shuffling. His other customer was gracious enough to say "no big deal," and he was doing battle with our lock about 15 minutes later! And do battle he did! The lock was so busted he ended up having to cut the pin off entirely! And the cost? Shockingly fair for such incredible service (and a tricky solution that involved showers of sparks). Got my cars ignition working when my key was stuck and could turn or remove. I could of paid $500 + to replace ignition and then have the drama up multiple keys. But instead owner operator fixed the mashed pin in the key slot for $225. It was about time to replace the lock in my house because the knobs and deadbolts were starting to get really tough to operate and getting chocolate sauce squirted into them several years back wasn't helping. Can't say enough good things about Blaize. I had recently picked up a vehicle that only had 1 key, so I naturally hunted around for the cheapest way to get another key cut and programmed. So I picked up an Amazon key and programmed the transponder and alarm function myself. I really only needed someone to cut it. One thing that was an issue was the blade length on the Amazon key was almost 1/2" longer than my existing key. I tried Precision Locksmith in Beaverton first, but it was apparent that I was paying for their machine use and not their locksmithing knowledge. They told me that the key couldn't be cut and I needed to get the correct length key. Called up Blaize and he had me text him pictures of my existing key and Amazon key. At that time, I was also looking for a locksmith with a manual cutting machine after my experience with Precision. Blaize recommended a place with a manual machine and they even said that they couldn't do it. Probably code for not wanting the liability of screwing up. Blaize ends up calling me back and says that he thinks he can cut the key. He would even honor the price that Precision quoted me. Great! Met up with him and he gave it a go. Worked on every lock first try! Long story short, he cut the key and it worked without issue! All in all, got a spare key for roughly $62, whereas Blaize said it would have been upwards of $300 if I had just had him do all the work. He's definitely "my locksmith guy" now and would absolutely recommend him. read more
