I followed my old nail tech Tina & Cindy to this nail salon. And I liked how tidy this place is. The shop is not very big, but well organized and clean. Fairly quiet with friendly service. I've been having Tina do my nails for years so the quality of nail service she does is unquestionable. Cindy is who did my ombré design this time and she did a beautiful job. Amazing is a slight stretch but definitely a decent experience for a basic gel pedicure. I would return during a weekday afternoon.

Poor service. Win is rude and does not do quality work. He takes over 3 hrs to complete a full set which doesn't even last 2 weeks. Every time I came he was ripping off my nails and giving me a full set. Like who needs a full set every 2 weeks. That's ridiculous and it my nails so fragile. I've developed nail fungus on several occasions and Win stated that it me washing my hands at work that caused it. My nails were always lifting and splitting underneath the nail. read more

The second time was not a charm. I came in for a dipping manicure and gel pedicure. I requested a particular technician. However, when I sat down I received a novice nail professional. So much so that he literally used the mechanical tool and severed my toe nail in half. It was not addressed but I noticed they were putting glue on my toe nail. Another tech comes over to finish with the gel polish but the toe nail being cut in half was not disclosed. They asked if I wanted to get acrylic. Which in hindsight would make more issuers with my nails, including fungus or infection. I had NO sense of what was happening. I just had one technician who finished the service and this Vi who polished my nails over again. Long story short, a day later my toe nail is visibly lifted broken and hurting. In addition, my middle finger nail is broken. How Wen? The first time I came Wen was recommended and Vi did a pretty good job so I decided to come back after two weeks. I would give zero stars if I could. UPDATE: I went back to the nail salon to receive a solution and customer service in exactly 48 hours of service. Oddly, they had a unified front that I was the problem to the point that the manager was going to show me a camera. And show me what? Me sitting in the chair relaxed. Pointing at the unclean nails when I informed the man. How were so many people who were not present that day so sure of the details of the day? They literally came to me pointing fingers and not allowing me to speak. Of course there was a language barrier with the majority but it was definitely a confrontation. Totally appalled at their behavior especially Wen who stated I was a lie. I wanted to point it out for awareness, correction of technique, and request a nominal refund. My toe is injured and can be infected and I received no remorse but loud-talking. read more

Just terrible! This is the worst set of nails I've ever had. I have never seen anyone do nails the way they did so I was confused and thought maybe this was something new and they was gonna be ok. NOT!! Misshapen, bulky, crooked and ugly. They don't even do anything to your cuticles or nothing. Then the woman who put the tips on and 3 heavy dips of powder just passed me off to another woman who was a bit quirky I'll say to do the final filing. Why she did that I have no idea. No one else was there waiting for their nails to be done. This woman did not know what she was doing and was gruff to boot. When she finished my hand she put the tiniest bit of cream on my hands but only on my palms leaving my hands dry and ashy. Then I gave a $5 tip when I shouldn't have given them a damn thing actually, and they all sitting there talking about me as if you can't tell cause they all collectively looking in my face. So I said is there an issue? The guy goes oh did she give you your change for your $20? I laughed and said yea and she lucky she even got a tip so I know you don't think I was about to tip them both for this ugly mess!! This is what I get for trying somewhere new. New owners recently took over and the price for my manicure went up 25 percent With such a large increase, it will only hurt the nail tech on the tip. Went in for a Pedi and gel fill. The staff was very friendly when I walked in. The young lady did a good job on my pedicure but it seemed that she got lazy during my fill. She didn't take her time to shape them correctly and my gel polish has humps in it. When I asked for glitter to match my toes she seemed mad. I'm going to cite myself from my Oct. 2008 review of New Look Nail Spa: I'm not going to raise the metro-sexual fad. Instead I'll discuss how men can benefit from the occasional pedicure. According to an article from the June 9, 2003 "Spa Finder" magazine, "women want to be pampered. Men, however, want the results." The article cites to health benefits like lower cholesterol and lower blood pressure. Fabulous toenails are unnecessary for men but functional toenails are essential. I would argue that pedicures are often necessary to combat the effects of working out. Kate Moore, a pedicurist in an August 6, 2002, International Herald Tribune article, stated that, "younger men, because they are more athletic - running, exercising, walking - their feet start being in worse shape" the result of which may be in-grown toenails and calluses. In many ways, it comes down the maintaining basic hygiene. So why bother coming all the way to Laurel for a pedicure? Because it just happened to be along the way to Balitmore (detour from I-95 to WDC-BWI Parkway). Walk-in opportunities are essential because any personal grooming results from a random whim. Interestingly, I learned that $28 mani-pedis (manicure & pedicures) are the going rate these days (according to Cindy Y.), which means prices have dropped since 2008. How does Master Nails compare against my previous experiences? About the same. Do I feel any better? Well, it's always nice to get ride of extra dead skin (otherwise I'd be chewing on it, a nasty habit). Do I recommend Master Nails? Sooooo Tracey is amazing. That's about it. Tracey is meticulous, and takes pride in her work. There were small things that I liked with my nails that I didn't even have to explain to her. I know that I don't have to watch everything she does because she is thorough. Now everyone else...just horrible. It stinks in here. The lady who did my toes one time was so awful. The water was extremely hot then cold and she was acting like I was the crazy one. She was naming everything that was "wrong" on my toes and kept trying to up-sell me. NO I don't want your spa pedicure or your callus removal! She wouldn't even put the basis blue Epsom Salt stuff in the water. That's basic! She was rough. I had to guide her through what step was next. Then this chick used the drill thing on ALL my toes!!!! The thing that you use to prep your nails for acrylics. Like....there's way more but here was the icing on top of the cake. She's finally done and I'm trying to get out of the chair and my shoes were in the way. In had to ask her to move them and she put her arm on my leg to brace herself to pick up my shoes and when she leaned over she smudged my toes with her jacket. THEN after fixing it...I'm getting out of the chair and I SLIP AND FALL BUT LANDED IN A SEATED POSITION ON THE FOOT TUB. THERE WAS OIL ON THE FLOOR!!!!!!!!! I normally don't take the time to write reviews however I feel the need to write about Master Nails. I went in today for a fill in. The place was dirty and the tools the nail tech used did not look sanitized at all. The nail tech knicked my cuticle and didn't even use cuticle oil on my nails when it was time for me to wash my hands. When filing my nails she left them lop-sided and uneven. Not to mention the ladies weren't too friendly. If you have any standards, save your time and money. Go somewhere else. I just can't believe how unsanitary it looked in there. read more

I went here on an Sunday morning. I had to wait 10 mins. I also had to l find the gel polish myself. My pedicure was average at best and a bit pricey for that. The nail tech was ok but kept trying to forcefully sell me on more services. I wrote that off at cultural differences. I got a French pedicure which turned out nice. However, there was no pedicure fan to dry my toes. Oh much to my surprise I did get a pedicure fan once I decided to get a gel polish upgrade. I guess regular services don't get one. All in all my polish looked nice but my cuticles could have been more mani & pedicured. I guess this salon is ok. read more
