Awful experience at Bliss with the manager Ellie after my daughter's service. Nails were too long and in a coffin shape instead of the almond she came in with. When asked they be corrected we were told there would be a charge to fix moments after the service. When I told her that was unacceptable and the nails looked like a street walker she told me to leave and I was being disrespectful. When I asked how I was disrespectful she announced in front of a customer that I said my daughter's nails looked like a whore which was NOT the word I used. I have never been to a nail salon where they cannot fill in or reshape gelx nails. The whole experience after being a customer at this location since they opened was disappointing and embarrassing. Received the worst service today (nail broke 5 days after initial service, they repeatedly told me i wouldnt be charged, took 2 other clients who came in after me but checked in while i asked about getting the broken nail fixed, waited over an hour, made comments to one another i bit my nail, then halfway through service told me i would be charged). The nails are not worth $83. I wanted a darker red which is why I chose shade 06, or 07. But these are bright red almost like red orange. Save your time and money, just do your nails yourself since that's what I have to do. Then they wanted to say it was a color match/ it was bc of my nails. Like huh. Cuticles don't get cut, finishing trimmings of polish is not a known technique. My toe nails nor hands have never looked so bad after spending $95 on them. They look like they got done months ago. Went in with a bridal party for wedding nails. Our appointment was at 5. I got there at 4:45 and they asked me to sit in the chair but I wanted to wait for the rest of the crew. After everyone got there and picked out their colors, it was obviously after 5. At first it seemed like they were super accommodating (we had made the appointment in advance and alerted them of the occasion and most paid a deposit ahead of time). Then it seemed we were each rushed through the mani/pedi. Maybe they'd allotted an hour tops for all of us to get through, which even in a normal mani/pedi (no special occasion) appointment is kind of impossible. I tried to take a photo of the bride with some of the bridal party in their pedi chairs and get a glass of wine we'd brought but the manager kept saying "I'll do it," to I guess get me in the chair faster? That's how it came off. Thought it was a little urgent and cold for a moment of the wedding weekend that's supposed to be fun and not rushed. Pedi polish was not smooth/ cleaned up. Nail beds and cuticles were left rough. For mani, he didn't let the dip topcoat dry all the way before putting cuticle oil on, so now it's half shiny/half messed up. Also I didn't get a massage or hot towel on my hands (I think he'd been assigned to another appointment) but they gave me a discount, which was super nice, so points for customer service, though I'm not sure a lot of people would speak up about that, and I had to ask them a few times if my check would change. $40 pedicure and $55 dip manicure, you would think they'd take time to really get it right. Also, the MOB's nails and toe color didn't match, though the dip # and regular polish were matched according to their system. I had my nails done on Monday. I had them done with the dipping process and they looked pretty good. Within a few days the left index nail broke. This is unusual because the dipping has always strengthened my nails in the past. Next the right index finger chipped. The next Monday I went back to the salon and they repaired the two nails. They were nice until they said "we usually only do repairs within the first three days" "we will do it this time and not charge you". I felt weird about that. The dipping process failed I guess. I have never had that happen before. What was worse.....they let me know they were doing me a huge favor by repairing these two chipped nails. I specifically told the nail tech I didn't want my nails buffed (just a reg mani) since it takes off nail layers on my already thin nails. But she laughed and started buffing anyway. Lisa was inexperienced and unqualified to do the services I requested and EXPECTED. I wanted a simple pink/white ombré set. I showed her the as soon as I sat in her chair. I asked repeatedly if she could give me what I wanted. She insisted she could, BUT she couldn't and didn't! My thing is... it's just all about the money nowadays with most of these franchised or newly renovated and so called new owners salons. This place is absolutely terrible!! I had gel mani/ pedi done. Also some waxing on the arms. First, the pedi gel was never put under lights. She barely had them in the water and did not buff the toe nails. The toe nails have waves. She barely spent 15 minutes at the most. The Gel pedicure is worse, unevenly filed, did not paint evenly, and bibles in the gel. She also did not leave them in the full time. Pictures to follow. The waxing was not good. She left wax on my arms, used one stick the whole time. I tried to mentioned this to her but she claimed she did not understand. None of the employees had their licenses out. I had an experience at Bliss yesterday which made them lose my business. I have been a client at Bliss for over a year and have always had a pleasant experience. Tora, in particular, always does a great job. I usually get the milk and honey pedicure which is the longer pedicure. Due to the time constraints this week. I opted for the 30 minute classic pedicure. I was headed to an event that night and coordinating party details via text. I sent a text when I sat down and when I was finished my pedi. Nina was my pedicure provider. She seemed sullen and grumpy and ignored my requests. I pointed out my dry heels and asked her scrub them, she spent less than a minute on each. Her massage time was minimal, too. I figured next time I would just get another tech. I've never complained before about a service there. When I sat down for my toes to dry, I looked at the clock to make sure I was on time for the party. That was when I realized that my entire pedi time had been @ 15 min, not 30 minutes as printed on the brochure. Additionally, when I looked at my toes, the filing was uneven, the polish was sloppy, and my heels were still cracked and dry. I waited a few minutes then decided to speak with the manager. I explained to the male manager, Ron (?), that I was not happy with the pedicure and explained the reasons why. I said I had to leave for an event so could not stay but wanted to come back tomorrow to fix the sloppy polish and cracked heels. The manager refused to listen to me. In fact, he became angry and was speaking angrily in another language to Nina about me. He accused me of not telling the truth and trying to get out of paying. I explained that I knew how long it took bc I had sent texts which showed the time, I also showed him my still cracked heels and sloppy polish. I said I have been a frequent, paying client for more than a year, and had never complained nor "tried to get out of paying." At this point, the salon was getting busy. The male manager simply ignored me as I stood at the front desk so he answered phones, took payment from others, and greeted clients coming through the door. I politely asked if I could speak to him at the back of the store so I wasn't in full display of all the other clients. He ignored me and told me "the service was done. I have to pay and can't come back to fix it." Then I asked to speak to the female manager, she said they could reduce the price from $35 to $25, but that was all they could do. I said since the pedicure was so poor, I would need to get it redone -- either there or somewhere else. She said I had to pay and they could not fix it. During all this, myself and the two manager stood at the front desk. The male manager continued to yell at me, sometimes in English and sometimes in another language, in full view of other patrons. This entire exchange took 30 minutes because I was ignored while they dealt with other patrons. I was humiliated and embarrassed by standing there and being accused of "not wanting to pay." I paid $25 ($10 less than $35) and was late to my event because of our exchange about payment and fixing my pedi. I live in the neighborhood next to this nail salon and have told friends and neighborhood people about this horrible experience. I have never been treated so poorly as a patron of any business. This salon has the best massage chair in the area. The back rollers hit all the pressure points in the right places from the buttocks to the head and shoulders. I usually get a spa pedicure just so I can stay in the chair longer. The rating is only four stars because the manicure is not good. I've gone multiple time because it's within walking distance of my house but am ready to give up on it despite the convenience. I had once great manicurist and the rest have been subpar. Yesterday, the young guy I had told me i'm "twitchy" and asked why my skin is red (because I'm pale...) and it was overall an awkward experience. A previous time, I picked out a spice red color for my wedding nails, and the manicurist tried to substitute in a bright orange. I've ended up bleeding during manicures, and generally my gel nails do not hold up long. read more

I have been going to Bliss since it opened because it was close to my house and they generally do a decent enough job on nails. I go maybe once a month when I am able to treat myself. Today I made an appointment because I have 4 children and one is an infant so I rarely have any time for myself, but my husband suggested I go out and relax. When I called I asked for a 1230 or 1 pm appointment (which they did not have). The woman asked if I could come in at 145. I agreed. I arrived on time at 145, picked my color out and waited patiently. After 15 minutes passed, I walked up to the desk and asked how much longer it would be since I had an appointment and she said 15-20 minutes. I was annoyed but just said I didn't understand and she said something about their policy being that if you don't request a technician then they just have that appointment as a general idea of how many customers they will have. This made no sense. There was no apology offered or even some sort of attempt to rectify the situation. I normally do not complain about something so trivial as getting ones nails done. BUT being a mom I have very little time to pamper myself and don't get to do it often. I will not be going back to Bliss again. If you value your time or have little time to yourself, don't choose Bliss. read more

I took me and my 5 year old daughter here. The staff is really nice. We got there and it was pretty busy. My daughter got the princess pedicure which was really cute with a butterfly chair. They placed us together which was nice bonding time as well. Tammy who did my pedicure did an amazing job, I'm really particular with my cuticles and polish. I didn't have to correct her on anything (I use to work at a nail salon) Overall the place is super clean, the staff is friendly, and I already made an appointment to go back. The first time i did a dip powder manicure and it came out all bumpy. Second time, i asked for a gel manicure with cat eye and my tech didnt know how to do it so it turned out horrible. This time i went for a gel mani and pedi and i looks like a kid painted my nails. My gel manicure is already chipping because the tech painted my cuticles and fingers and my toes look like child painted them. I am very disappointed. It seems like they dont train the technicians here. I will def not go back again. Its always more than 100 bucks for a service that lacks quality 100 percent. This place is very pretty. I stopped by on a weekday and was seen for a gel manicure right away. The tech that worked with me wasn't super friendly but it was no big deal. I chose this place after looking at the photos of the nail art on their Yelp page and I requested very specific nail art. He didn't have the right tools for certain parts of the design or even black paint (which I always thought was a standard color to have on hand) but he made it work. So I've been to this nail salon twice. The first time the service was efficient but subpar and the second time the service was just completely awful. Let me explain.... Visit 1: I walked in on my lunch break to get an SNS set. I was seated almost immediately, +1. The nail tech did the job and didn't try to upsell me, +1. The application of the SNS was meh okay. When she applied the top coat she missed spots like down the middle of my nail missed not just the sides. Nonetheless it was quick like 30 mins in and out quick. I kept the set on for 4 weeks, sorry I don't have a picture. One of my nails cracked down the middle (just the powder not my actual nail) and the clear coat was non existent. Overall visit 1 was okay, meaning it was decent enough for me to go back again. Visit 2: I read some yelp reviews and found a few names of suggestion technicians. I called to make an appt but none of them were available. I ended up just walking in and whoever became available first would assist me. I waited about 5 mins was taken to a station and immediately I was turned off because the technician reeks of cigarettes. Then he didn't know where to start. There were no supplies at the station and he has to get up to get everything. Literally he'd get the foil but then had to get up again and the the remover or nail file. So he finally gets enough supplies to start and then doesn't know how to do it. STRIKE 1! He asked the woman next to him what to do. STRIKE 2! After about 45 mins he finally gets the old SNS set off and then asked for instruction FROM ME on how to apply my new set. STRIKE 3! The rest of the visit was a nightmare. I stayed getting a removal and application of SNS for 1 hour and 46 mins. My nails look like TRASH! The polish is uneven and missing on the sides. The shape isn't consistent and there's lifting after 2 weeks. My experience felt like a tutorial, at one point another tech had to show him how to apply polish. NEVER AGAIN. PLEASE STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Their service is subpar and they aren't even up on the latest trends to be charging so much. They couldn't even do a chrome nail.
