I cannot say enough kind words about Master Tech. My son had an issue with his truck and they took the time to work with him, explain the problem and kept him posted every step of the way. That's just the beginning. It was a simple fix, and they were honest, forthright, kind and understanding. We lost a family member this week and they took the time to listen and be extra kind to him. Not only did they provide EXCELLENT service, they went above and beyond to assist in a timely and competent repair and were very honest about the price when they could have said anything. Very overpriced for low quality service. Not genuine people at all. Just want to overcharge you to make a quick penny. Not worth it. Take your vehicles elsewhere at all costs. Charged me $125 for a Denso O2 sensor that costs $25 on rockauto.com When asked why I was charged an hour and half for them to simply unscrew the old O2 sensor and screw the new one back in (which takes a mere 10 minutes if even) he said that's just what the book says, which is very ingenuine. If they had a job that the book says takes 8 hours and it took them 12 I know for a fact they would charge the customer for 12 hours and not 8. So it should be the same for the other way as well, they only care about whatever way makes the most money with no regards to the customer. A 10-15 minute job with a $25 part should never have costed $280 ever. If you treat your customers genuinely and with honestly, they will come back. In this case, I will never be returning to this place of business. read more

I recently purchased a 22 year old dodge stratus for local commuting. The vehicle was owned by females and had been taken relatively good care of. I could not beat the price but I also knew, after inspecting the vehicle, that it would need some tlc. I took a chance on the vehicle and began bringing it back to life. After installing all of the new parts, including new tires, I registered the vehicle and put it back on the road. Because of the new tires, I knew that I needed to get a 4 wheel alignment. I contacted Stephanie at Master Tech and got a very reasonable quote. We scheduled a drop off time and I brought the vehicle to them. This was my first visit and I was impressed with the professionalism of the business. I left the car and went to town to take care of some business. Shortly after leaving the vehicle I was contacted and told that my car was ready. Paying for the service was very straight forward without any questions or worries. I had a pleasant visit with the owner and his beautiful German Sheppard. I said my good byes and got in my car. I immediately noticed that my vehicle drove as straight as a string at low speeds and only got better as I gained speed. I knew then that I had made the right choice. I cannot convey how much this meant to me but I can say that I am smiling while typing knowing that I am not harming my new tires and honestly I just want go out drive it just so I can feel how easy it steers and holds the road. Told me I needed a motor ended up taking it home looking online and ended up being lifters replaced them and truck is back running.

I have been going to master tech auto for a few years now and I've always found them to get the job done properly. Mechanics on The job quickly diagnose what has needed to be done and are able to get it done within a timely manner. The owner Tim and or the mechanics have always communicated with me about what needs to be done and I've been satisfied With their work every time. I have never had to go back to have something checked out again but if they need me they are surely open to that. I also have to say the garage is clean and neat and Everything in its place. There is a nice lobby area, spotless as well, if you need to wait. Coffee, water, and even some cookies are available While you wait. My husband and I have been taking our vehicles to Master Tech for at least 20 years. Anywhere from simple oil changes to transmission replacement. My car is fixed, yes. But they never called me to talk about pricing or exactly what needed to be repaired. They just went ahead and repaired my car and demanded money. I never gave any written or verbal consent to repair "whatever needed to be repaired". Owner was very rude and the rest of the employees I had contact were rude. I would strongly encourage you to look for a more professional shop. read more

...I give a star due to the experienced, professional sounding, sales pitch that I received which turned out to be, me being "handled". My truck needed a new motor. I was referred to MT by a stranger but I was desperate. Been w/o a vehicle for two yrs. due to another scam in which went in for service and got it back thanks to a deputy with a blown motor w/no offer of help from the mechanic or the sheriff for help w/the $1,000 I paid Called MT and I felt safe until I heard the price $6,000. I fell on my knees and asked for a little help w/that but he began telling me of all they had to replace. Some of which they did not replace-I found upon my arrival home. Tim refused to help me at all. I was aware my sister got her new motor 4 yrs. ago for $3,000. But not w/o trouble. I needed a tow so Tim gave me a #. I called and set a plan in motion including my being billed by the co. When my vehicle arrived to MT, Tim called me and demanded I pay half the fee which I understood but he also demanded full pymt. for the tow which I thought I had another wk. for. I am disabled and try to live on $700 a month. I did not even have $ to drive to Athens to see my dad in hospital. His heart gave out yesterday. MT is a small bldg. w/ papered Techs (3). A little compassion could have been afforded. No compassion. Except by the Tech that made me a breather by hand that I am required to replace ASAP. I appreciated him but I honestly thought MT was responsible for all add ons to the motor??? Sudden change. $3,000 in the pocket of MT. I was told it would take a day. It did. I wish I could make $3,000 a day. They must not have enough business. I arrived to pick up my truck and I wanted to test drive it. I was refused by the lady at the desk. and one tech. I was told I had to wait for Tim. I was oblivious what their plan was. When Tim walked in I asked to test drive my vehicle. He said to me, "WE don't do that". Red flag. I felt it and I could have bucked and called a patrol and my rights would have been known. But I had to ask a favor of a friend to come with and he was sitting out in hot car. I caved. This alone made me know Tim is a suspicious person and obviously had troubles before. I get home and witnessed four red lights on the dash that stayed on. Also the cruise control light does not come on. This is all I have witnessed so far. Oh yeah, Tim called and demanded another $300something for a new oil pan. I thought it was connected to the motor also.(not sure, I'm no mechanic). NOW, I must take it in again to fix the new problems that it it did not have prior to MT. I am Afraid! In 2001 I returned from a deployment to Bosnia with the army. I suffered a back injury while I was there so I was recovering at the local National Guard unit. I was having to travel back and forth to Atlanta for treatment, and my vehicle was in as bad shape as I was. While I was in Bosnia, my wife had to have our only vehicle repaired at a Winder mechanic (who is no longer in business). After several failed attempts to get him to fix a problem that he caused i was left stranded at fort McPherson. I had seen Master Tech Auto in passing and decided to give them a try. I was extremely pleased with the prompt, professional service and even more so with their "we do it right the first time" attitude. After it was repaired, for less than the quote my vehicle ran better than ever! Full disclosure, I'm now good friends with Tim the owner. However the above experience is how we met. Give them a try! Tim has done three jobs for me now: a valve cover and spark plugs, a manual transmission clutch job, and a timing belt and water pump replacement. He does good work with good parts, and is relatively affordable. read more

My MINI Cooper's alternator died on me in Winder and I was able to limp into Autozone. They tested the battery and alternator and confirmed the alternator was bad. I called Master Tech - who was right around the corner - first thing the next morning and explained the problem and was told it would not be a problem to work in that day. I was able to get my car there before it died again only to be told that they "might be able to LOOK at it today" and that I had an "oddball car." If my car is an oddball to a shop that advertises that it works on ALL types of automobiles, I probably don't want to have it serviced there. Had my car towed to another shop. NOT impressed. read more

Tim and the rest of the staff are the best and I trust them implicitly with the maintenance and repair of all our vehicles. I know I am getting the best rate and the best service every time. I've been working with them for over 10 years - there have been so many times that I've had a concern or wanted Tim to check on something, and he's always been accommodating.
