Don't believe the negative review. It was most likely posted by a competitor. I have been going to Mize Auto for years and they have been nothing but honest and have always done right by me. I know from past experience at other mechanics that it's easy to lie to a woman who doesn't know anything about cars, just to get more $$$ from her; Mize Auto has never done that to me, nor to my family members and friends I have referred. I recently moved and Mize is about 45 minutes from me now-but I still go when I have an issue. I don't trust anyone else with my car! read more

I, like most other "regular" folks out there do not know much about automobile repair or the inner workings of any vehicle for that matter. *Fact of life...Mechanics can smell our ignorance before we open our mouths to try and emulate our cars' problems with some ridiculous sounds of our own. Needless to say I have padded the pockets of many a mechanic over the years out of said ignorance and have come to distrust ALL of them. I recently ran into some issues with a '07 Nissan Quest that reeked of transmission troubles for some obvious reasons that even I could recognize (not going into gear, slip lights coming on etc) so after talking to my Dad who is a deeply religious and trusting man he recommended this guy that had been doing his work (on foreign cars) for a while. Still deeply skeptical I said OK and took it to him dreading the inevitable. Well, I was called back very quickly and informed that it was indeed just a sensor that was reeking havoc with my computer system. Thank you lord! This guy could have EASILY stuck me for $2000+ and I'd never know! He gave me several options on how to approach the repair as to try and SAVE me money. I could skimp on the factory parts and go aftermarket (risky) and I could gamble on just fixing one sensor or just bite the bullet and get them all (3) and forget about it forever (warranty). The choice was mine. I opted to just get good factory parts and replace all of them for a little more cash. This guy (Paul Mize) is a true gentleman and a class act. An honest professional that renewed my hope again in honest people. *Come to find out (I am from Atl.) the rest of the Winder community already knew this and his name is golden with anyone that's ever done business with him. Mize Auto was there when I needed a job done and they were fast, efficient and honest. They could have ripped me off, but didn't.

Thank goodness for an honest repair shop! My car was driving unevenly, especially in the rain, so I took it to Kauffman tire, where they said all of my tires were bald and would need to be replaced. They also said the reason they were balding was because of a "necessary repair" that was going to cost $1,500. Along with the tires, they quoted me $2,300. I talked them down for the tires because I needed them, but immediately took my car to Mize Auto to reassess and get a 2nd opinion. As it turns out, Paul let me know that my car needed no such repair, and it actually lasted another 8 years without it (and it was a very old car with a lot of mileage)! The issue with my tires also never came up again. If Paul was after my money, he would have just agreed with the statement I had from Kauffman and done the repairs- it was that easy. But he didn't. I LOVE THIS SHOP! I've never been able to trust anyone else with my car, and it feels great to be able to trust an auto repair shop! read more
