We reached an agreement and when I dropped my car off for service, he drove me home! Then, when work was done, he brought my car to me. He's a great mechanic and the work done was immaculate, but, he's also friendly and down to Earth. I cannot recommend him enough!

It was stuck on my driveway. I had a really hard time getting a tow, even trying AAA and insurance, because there's just not a ton going on in this area--especially on a Sunday. Mr. Velasquez personally offered to stop by my place and diagnose the car, and he helped me to secure a tow at a great price. His tow truck person came within 30 mins! I had waited 6 hours the day before, and no one came. He was able to fix the car within 24 hours. My starter and battery were not working. He gave me updates every step of the way. The job cost less than $700 for parts, warranty, and labor. He's truly a life saver, and my fix was super affordable. When I was getting ready to pick up the car, I couldn't get a ride, and he picked me up and I returned him to the shop. I couldn't ask for better service. He will be my go to from now on while I am in this area. Highly recommend!

DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN. This wasn't just a failed job--this was a straight-up scam…read more My boyfriend brought his truck to Mat's Automotive & Performance in early December 2024 for an LS swap and I watched the disaster unfold firsthand. Mat was paid $1,500 up front--not for work, but because he said he needed the money to buy Christmas presents for his family. The remaining $1,000 was to be paid once the job was completed. The work was never started. Not even touched. For the next 8 months, Mat fed us excuse after excuse, lie after lie. No updates, no photos, no proof. He claimed work was being done while doing nothing at all. In July 2025, we found the truck dumped in the street. Illegally parked. The motor we provided was still sitting in the bed--no work had been done at all. Mat had packed up, shut the business down and moved to Florida in the middle of the night without a word. He didn't just abandon the job--he abandoned the entire business. And what was left behind? * Expensive parts thrown away * Components on the motor broken * Gear column damaged * Zero actual work done This wasn't bad service. This was calculated theft. Mat strung us along, lied for months, destroyed thousands in parts and then ran away to another state. He closed the shop--not because he was held accountable--but to avoid accountability altogether. If you're wondering why this business is closed--this is why. He didn't go out of business. He ran from it. Don't fall for this man's lies. Don't trust his name in any form, in any future ventures. This wasn't just unethical--it was malicious. Mat's Automotive & Performance is closed and it should stay that way.

This company was very well-rated on facebook and loved on nextdoor, so when I contacted them and…read morethey told me I'd have to wait two weeks before they could look at my wife's minivan, I said I'd wait. I wanted quality work done. Two weeks later, they came out, diagnosed my vehicle (five separate engine codes and an oil leak), and told me they'd pick the vehicle up the next day. They also told me that when the work was done they'd return it. They didn't pick it up the next day. In fact, it took them another 10 days before they came and got the vehicle. They worked on it that day and contacted me at the end of the day and asked if I'd like to come get it, because they couldn't bring it back that same day. I let them know that I couldn't drive out there and would like it returned as they said. I was promised it would be back the next day or the day after. Two days pass and no vehicle, so I contacted them and was informed "We don't return vehicles. We don't have time to do that. We usually don't pick them up either, or charge a fee for it, but we gave you that for free." So, I drove an hour to pick up my vehicle. On the way home, the check engine light came back on. Assuming it was just an issue with one of the sparkplugs (the technician who worked on my car told me it still had a very slight misfire), I went ahead and just brought it all the way home. Once there I hooked it up to my OBD reader and realized that FOUR of those five engine codes were still present. I spent $1,350 to have my wife's van repaired, and waited a MONTH. At the end of all that, they've eliminated ONE engine code, and for all I know it's still leaking oil. Absolute worst mechanic experience I've ever had in my life. I'd bring it back to make them fix it, but I don't trust them to not make it worse. Avoid AT ALL COSTS.
