My wife has been talking about wanting a makeover for her bathroom (technically it's ours, but let's get real!) I thought I would stop in and see what they might have. Turns out this place designs kitchens and baths and actually had a few rooms set up to help those who need to see real spaces to get a feel for them. Although I think our bath is limited without major construction challenges, I will keep this place in mind since it is licensed and insured and the displays looked appealing. But what really occupied my time here was checking out their extensive supply of Big Green Eggs. Seriously, where I live, it takes less time to get to Ellettsville than it does to get to Sullivan's Hardware on the northeast side (and less traffic too!) One of the two owners of the business came out to greet me when I entered and we started chatting about these state of the art grilling stations. My friend swears by his egg, so I decided to check out what makes them different. Turns out the owner I dealt with has been competitively grilling for a long time and I was impressed that he took time to answer many questions, steer me towards some You Tube videos for ideas, and even mentioned Sullivan's annual cooking competition as a place to buy lightly used equipment at a nice savings to get started. He was SO Helpful! Although I didn't buy one on my visit, I would have no qualms about returning here when I decide to pull the trigger on a purchase. (These aren't cheap grills since they are molded ceramic containers and can weigh hundreds of pounds.) From the business's website and Facebook page, they do encourage making an appointment if you wish to talk design for your kitchen and/or bath makeover. After a delay in shipping, which is on their vendor, not on them, finally received the items. Am very disappointed with the quality for the price. Attempted twice to post a review on their website, which errored out. I'm starting to believe that because it was a two star review they programmed the site to reject it! Here's what I wrote: "I love quilts and own several dozen - at least 3 or 4 for each season, plus others for colors or patterns I like. Living in Southern California, a lightweight filling is normally fine. I searched all over the Internet for a quilt with black and green plaid fabrics. Found this for a discount on ToC by signing up for their mailing list as a first time customer. Had issues with shipping (not ToC's fault, but their delivery vendor deserves a failing grade!), and finally received the package today. Saw the driver bringing a smallish package to the door. Sure enough, the quilt is very, very thin - not much fill to speak of, and we'll need either another blanket on the bed, and/or warm afghan as toppers when it's time to sleep on fall and winter cool evenings. The pattern is a simple primitive one - nothing intricate or fancy. As such, between the thin profile and the overly simplistic styling, the price point is highly elevated. Since the color scheme goes with other items I have, am going to keep it. Otherwise, I'd return it and look for a better value option. If you're interested, I'd wait until a substantial sale is available. In a separate review I'll talk about the "shams", which aren't quilted or lined at all. The reason I'm giving them two stars instead of one is when I reported an issue with the FedEx delivery, a customer service agent did research it, got in touch with FedEx and got the stalled shipment moving again. They communicated via email speedily and in a professional manner. Quality of merchandise? Not up to the customer service level.

We were pleased with the plumbing, electricial, and tile (Ivan and Simon) sub-contractors that were used for our bathroom project. We've encountered our fair share of contractors and, for this job in general, received many over-the-top quotes and/or no shows. Ben was reasonably priced and consistent in his communication. He provided us with a project calendar (we've never had that happen w/ a contractor) and while, his team went over their original due date--unexpected issues--he maintained communication with us about who would be where, when, and why. I have to admit I was hesitant about going forward with AKB since I'd not read any review about them, but I had a good feeling after I met Benjamin to receive the initial estimate. I got the impression that he actually really cared about his work and the job he does and it was more than just a paycheck for him. I really liked how he was even able to give me a ballpark estimate with just some pictures I sent him before he came over to give a true estimate. I initially reached out to Benjamin in late May and we had decided to start work the first week of July (on that note, he also had earlier availability than anyone else I had received a quote from). We wound up pushing that back once we received the final quote as we wanted more time to save money for the job. He started work on our kitchen on a Monday and was basically done by Friday, except for a few items he had to come back to finish up early the next week. He was great about communicating when he would be at the house and did a fantastic job cleaning up each day--we were able to still use our kitchen in the evenings. We did the back-splash ourselves to save money, and after finishing that, I'm just floored at how beautiful this kitchen looks. I even have to force myself to go to sleep and stop staring at my kitchen each night.
