Maximizing a smaller footprint (around 320+ sq. ft.) requires smart design, and they nailed it. The craftsmanship is excellent, though the project was delayed (primarily because of additional nuanced city requirements), their communication throughout the construction process kept us at ease. Though not everything went smoothly, they appropriately addressed and rectified any issues that popped up during the construction process. They are environmentally backwards and not on board with what the future holds. They cut down huge mature trees, build overly dense developments w/ faux architecture that promote fire hazards. Their landscaping is minimal and not indigenous . They have zero consideration for the neighborhood they're developing within. I'm pretty sure they're stuck in the 1980s or maybe even the 1950s. If you had the misfortune of dealing with them, don't trust one word from their lying lips.

Jonathan Arid and Chris Hutchinson have been running this scam for years now. It must be very…read morelucrative. Our nightmare with them started in July of 2020. We wanted a bathroom remodel. The timeline started fast: They started demolition almost immediately, but then we did not hear much from them for about six months, aside from them sending random "workers" in and out of our house. They'd stay for a while, not knowing what to do and no English, then leave after about an hour. The story is long and painful, but Jonathan and Chris are both serious con men. They have scammed countless people, workers, and even material suppliers. They have court cases you can look up. At one point we had a group of people they had cheated that we were corresponding with. Careful! They change names, have reviews removed, and lie and lie to clients. They got Over $12,000 out of us. It ended up being a $12,000 demolition. We had to finish the project on our own with our own workers. A very expensive lesson for us, and an all around nightmare.

The following review is based on my horrible experience dealing with this business over the past 6…read moremonths. Chris Hutchinson / MKB Home Design / or whatever company name they may be going by this week, cannot be trusted. I made the huge mistake of having him work on two of my properties at once and they were both complete disasters. The man is a pathological liar who continued to tell me lies about deadlines and materials, and never finished the job leaving my properties in need of finishing and repair. The first job was quoted to take 2-3 weeks starting in Mid December 2021. Here we are at the start of May and it's still not completed. Chris continually goes MIA, and it looks like I am going to have to go out of pocket of at least another $10k to get my job completed properly. The quality of craftsmanship is terrible, and it is unclear if he is using licensed subs or performing the work according to code. If you search his name in the California contractor database, at the time of posting this you will see his license has been revoked and I believe that this means that he cannot operate as a general contractor. I urge anyone reading this not to go down the same painful path I went down. I am sure his Business Manager, Veronica H (which I believe is his wife), will respond to this review with some BS canned response, but if anyone wants to talk in more detail about this nightmare we have gone through, just reach out to me directly and I would be happy to elaborate and give you the facts.
