Hi, This is the 2nd time I have utilized MasterCraft Motors in SB for bodywork on my 2022 VW GTI. I was originally referred to Mike and his crew by a good friend of mine, who happens to be a mechanic himself. Both repairs involved damage caused by hit and run drivers while my car was parked on my street. The most recent of the two caused $30,000 in damages! Mike, my adjuster at AAA, and myself lobbied to save the car from being deemed a "total loss." One key factor about my car is that it is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, which VW no longer makes, as well as only 23,000 original miles. Mike and his crew, in 2 months time, once again restored my dream car to showroom condition. The job was simple. Replace a battery that I provided. It didn't take more than 5 minutes. The owner handled my request and charged me for a 1/4 hour @ $240.00 per hour. Instead of using his common sense and throw in a little compassion, he chose to charge me something like $64.00 for the job after I asked about a AAA discount he ' graciously' gave me a 10% discount. Not a good guy. Definitely money hungry. Not going there again. So beware. read more

They communicate with me very well about how many days they need and how much it would costs at the first place, so there is no ' hiding extra changes' Money is reasonable. I have always had a great experience with Mastercraft-- when I moved here in 2020, my dad told me to take my car here. Noah took care of me at the time, and always made sure work was quality, turnaround was quick, and customer service was excellent. I recently bought a new truck on my own and wanted to vet my own mechanic (don't ask, I just wanted to own the process). I called 2 other spots and was told I needed a bunch of random stuff done, totaling in the thousands, without the mechanic seeing the vehicle. I called Mastercraft after that and was not only immediately accommodated but Mario walked me through what needed to be done to my truck with no pressure, no jargon, just understanding. He was also super transparent about pricing and even removed some stickers from the body that I had been struggling with! I will continue to bring my truck back here and recommend Mastercraft to anyone looking for work on their vehicles. Thanks a million, Mario! At Mastercraft Motors I bought a 2006 Chevy Equinox from Noah a few weeks ago. He said the car was completely checked out, was in perfect shape, and they had made sure it was safe. A few days later I had a brake problem with the car and I noticed a bad smell inside. I took it to another shop, put it on a lift, and saw that the heater core was leaking. This indicates it had probably blown a head gasket. We found traces of radiator stop-leak splattered all around. It was used to conceal their attempt to stop the leak problem. The cost of repairing this problem exceeds the value of the car. Noah stopped answering his phone and won't reply to texts. Don't trust Noah or buy a car from him. This is a poor judgment of the owner of Mastercraft Motors to allow Noah to sell cars through his business and cheat people. read more

My car was hit while parked and the persons insurance has this company recommended. After showing up I was told they'd handle everything and help with the insurance in case they wouldn't cover any of the repair. They assured me the process would be easy since it was all internal with an insurance company they work with often. What a lie. After them losing my original appointment I had to wait 2 more weeks I dropped my car off only to get a phone call 2 days later that there would be an additional $1800 in work required or my car would "look like shit" . Doesn't make any sense they wouldn't include the additional work in the estimate they sent to insurance then expect the victim myself of the accident to pay the additional cost. Clearly bait and switch tactics. I would have never signed off on having my car worked on by these con artists if this was disclosed to me prior. Nothing simple or professional about this place. After a significant door ding, AAA recommended I bring my car here. Based on reviews, I also asked the shop about some other repairs on my car (the clear coat is bad on my roof, and I was really looking forward to having that done). Dropped the car off Monday, got a call on Thursday that it was finished, "Wow! That was fast!" I was thinking.. Turns out I did not communicate well enough that I wanted the roof done at the same time as the door.. No biggie, they said they'd call me back that day, and we could figure it out. Nothing. Friday, I get a call in the afternoon, "Your car is ready for you" and I have to inquire about the roof again, "We have a quote for you, but we'll have to do that another time." This is upsetting, there was no offer of "Sorry for the misunderstanding. Would you like to leave the car and we'll take care of it?" Coordinating dropping the car off with work, and not having a car for an entire week is already not ideal. To have to go through it all again for a job that could have been done is frustrating. The repair was under insurance, so I had to pay $500 which I would consider reasonable for a perfect job, but it is not perfect. There are still creases in the door.. My car has many other cosmetic imperfections, but I intend to fix them all and expect a shop to treat it like it is brand new. This may sound petty, but my iPhone charge cable also disappeared. When I asked about it, it was shrugged off. I'll most likely be looking into other shop options in the future. read more

I came by Mastercraft Motors one afternoon because my car headlights went out. I had already ordered the correct headlights at Auto Zone, but I was starting to get unconfident that I could change them myself. I drove past Mastercraft and decided to stop and ask how much they would charge to change my headlights. The owner was extremely friendly and came out to take a look at my car and see if he had a better price for bulbs than what I had originally bought. He mentioned that one of the bulbs was super easy to change and he would do it for free, but the other one was a bit trickier and he would need one of his guys to change it, so it would be about $40 to change. I really appreciated that he took the time to look into cheaper bulbs for me. I ended up gaining confidence and changing the bulbs myself this time BUT I will absolutely be back to this establishment next time I need car maintenance (my blinker is actually going double speed so they should be seeing me in soon). I appreciated the honestly and willingness to take a look at my car without an appointment or gaurentee that I would be buying services from this spot. I also really appreciated that the owner took his time to look up good bulb prices for my vehicle, it made me feel confident that this establishment would never cheat or oversell their customers. read more

My car was in a bad accident, & should have been declared totaled instead of waiting 7 weeks for this shop to fix it. The quote was $2K less than what the end bill was for, & my brakes have already started squeaking after only having the car back for about 6 weeks. I had to call the shop multiple times to ask when my car was going to be done - & was told it would be ready "by the end of the week" for about 3 weeks straight. They also did not put my front license plate back on (which is law in CA), so I got a ticket for not having a front plate and had to put one on myself & take care of the ticket. It is possible that my experience is because the payment would be going through subrogation to the at-fault person's insurance company instead of me being a cash paying customer... so my car could've been considered a low priority job. read more
