Had a horrible experience at Skytop. We needed work done on our car. The transmission went out on…read moreus. It hesitated when the light turned green then wouldn't shift. We managed to limp the car home. Having been to Skytop a number of years back and happy with the service and pricing I decided to go back there even having been told by others not to and that they're very shady over there. I should have listened. We get home and I schedule an appointment for their earliest time slot which was about 5 days away. I explain what the issue was to the girl on the phone and she said basically no problem and would I need a tow? I thought I would so I said yes. Asked about the price and she gave me a tow price of $150 for only a couple miles town in town. We decided against it the day of the schedule. We get the car there. Drop it off and talk to another girl. Maybe the same one? She takes some more info and I talk about the tranny again. She takes down some notes. I then ask if they can take a look at the tire. One tire has a slow leak. She said well we can look at it but they don't do tire repair and to take it to another shop. Um... what? So whatever. We leave and she advised if they don't get to it today it will be the first one tomorrow morning. Ok fine. The next morning I receive a text message with a laughable inspection report. Regarding the transmission... "Possible transmission work needed - Take to a transmission shop." So naturally I call and question this. The girl on the phone said she can't help and quickly transferred me to the service department where another girl answered. I asked her to explain and she advised that their transmission guy left about a year ago and they no longer work on transmissions. UM SO WHY DID YOU TAKE THE CAR AND WASTE MY TIME?! Obviously at this point I'm prepping to go get the car and take it somewhere else. In the process of making those plans I get a text message from someone blaming me and telling me I was told on the initial call that they couldn't promise they could work on it but that they may have someone that could do the job.... yeah no thank you. Something's not quite right and since I was told they don't do transmission work I can't trust this. Who's this person that they may or may not know that may or may not be available for service? How is that anyway to treat a customer???? Naturally at this point I'm frustrated. So I declined and went and picked up the car. Never again with Skytop! I wouldn't have my lawnmower serviced there.

So while we're getting credit for being the first to review, it ain't so. We're just apparently the first one to do so using the most familiar name. Got that? So, we're actually updating what we wrote a few years ago (2017, we believe). The guys who run this place are good guys. We've found them to be consistently honest, fair and up front in their dealings. For instance: we just had some tire issues on a 20-year old. car that needed some new tires. We talked it over nd agreed we shouldn't get expensive tourers, and that was Zeller's recommendation. They charged us fairly, did the job quickly, and were a pleasure to deal with in every way. We have friends who been going here for 20 years, and they echo the same praise: this is an honest business establishment that, while not without making mistakes at times, is nonetheless a good place to do business.

The cost was reasonable and they serviced it while I waited. They did find wiring that was chewed by rodents that was not expected but had the proper parts on hand to repair and did not charge me extra labor to resolve. They seemed well organized and keep the front of the shop better than most places. I would be comfortable to bring work to them again in the future

Here's what got us to Vive: It was just a pleasant morning trip to the grocery when a driver making a sudden turn hit our passenger door. No one was injured, and we quickly exchanged insurance information. The result was the other driver's insurance took care of our repair after we wisely accepted a recommendation from friends and insurance carriers. Vive did a terrific job on the repairs, everything carefully completed with a flawless result. We were kept apprised of the repair during the time it was in the shop. I am always treated well and the staff is so accommodating . They put the wipers on for you ( don't forget the tip) at no charge. When I'm there I listen to conversations between the staff and the customer. Now admittedly i never took mechanixology in college but I can see that the staff is knowledgeable , patient and willing to makes the customer understands. Again I don't understand this stuff but I can see satisfaction on the customers faces and conversation .

Then he even went out of his way to come back after hours after having to take care of a personal matter that was NOT in the area, just out of concern that I might need my car back ASAP.
