I'm sure I'm like most people and don't enjoy spending money on big-ticket expenses for my vehicle,…read morebut at least when I'm here they give me a full explanation of what needs to be done and why. You gave the option of waiting with your vehicle or dropping it off and coming back later, depending on your schedule. I like being able to make their availability work with my schedule. During the pandemic they have the same staffing challenges as many other businesses, but they were able to fit me in around my schedule and I really appreciated it!

I dropped off my car at Firestone Store in Vernon on July 10 for an oil change and an inspection of…read morea suspected oil leak. When I left the vehicle, the touchscreen on the console was fully functional and had no cracks or damage. When I returned on July 12 to pick up my car, I immediately noticed that the touchscreen had been physically cracked. The damage was discovered while the vehicle was still at the Firestone location, and I reported it before accepting the vehicle back. The employee I spoke with was rude and dismissive, stating that Firestone was not responsible. Even claiming that no one touched the inside of the car at any time (even to move the car inside for work...) because the worked we requested was for other components. Because my concern was not taken seriously, I left the vehicle at the store and returned on Monday to speak with the store manager. I requested that any surveillance footage be reviewed to determine what happened, but I was told there were no cameras covering the whole Firestone area. To date, Firestone has provided no explanation for how the damage occurred and has not conducted any meaningful investigation while my vehicle was in its possession and control. My experience at Vernon Firestone has made me question whether VERNON FIRESTONE is worthy of customers' trust and whether vehicles are truly being handled with the care and respect they deserve. Protecting customers' property and addressing concerns responsibly are fundamental obligations of any service business!!!

Everyone was knowledgeable and insightful while being incredibly personable and friendly. We don't live in the area, but I'd definitely come back if I had any issues in the area. A+ location! Bonus points for letting us put on Sesame Street and hang out in their very clean lounge while everything was in motion.

0 stars!!! Went in for a tire rotation and oil change and will never go here again. I requested…read moreadditional work but was told it was not needed...thats fine. But to whip out of the parking lot and back in on a test drive that I did not authorize was not professional. Let along loungely driving with a hand out the window is not either. Took my car home and there is a large jagged gash on my sidewall of my tire. Spoke to the manager and owner who dismissed me. They offered to review footage of cameras but then refused when my husband wanted to watch the footage with them. They lie to make you quiet, they damage your property, and they do not take accountability. So an $88 visit now turned into a $1,000 tire change since my car is AWD. To top it off, they called the cops to remove my husband from the property but wouldn't just watch the footage. If that doesn't say guilty - I do not know what does! Not to mention Sue, and the manager Chris , and owner Stu are just downright disrespectful and condescending. Never again. Cops even said do not bring your car here.

Amy is AMAZING! 5 stars all day. This is the experience I want from a mechanic!…read more I would recommend this shop to anyone; like another review here said, this is someplace you can TRUST to take care of (for example) your grandparents and their cars. Amy is kind, honest, and does quality work. She got the job done on my '08 SUV quickly, and turned my huge problem into a minor inconvenience. I cannot thank her enough! If you're a woman who worries about being taken advantage of when getting your car fixed... That is NOT a concern here! This is a shop that you can trust and rely on. Ladies- you've found your mechanic! I will absolutely bring my vehicles back here in the future. Thanks again, Amy!

Gotta admit, these two are good…read more This little shop was opened when the Chevrolet garage in town went belly up due to the owner's wife gambling all the profits away at one of the casinos. Classy. Oh, and then...after the dump was closed, a big, wet snowstorm dumped a huge amount of snow on the roof of the service department, causing the roof to cave in. Awesome. Nevertheless, this little two bay shop can and will handle all your repair and maintenance needs honestly and efficiently. They're friendly, local folks who are simply trying to live the American dream of owning a business...and doing one helluva good job. One of my two cars is a '99 Toyota. I bring it to this establishment for work and they've never let me down. You cannot go wrong with this joint, and I give it my highest recommendation. Need work done? Go here. Seriously...this is a mechanic shop you can trust and will refer to your friends. Very, very impressive.

I'm from Vernon and this is the spot to take your whip. I usually only trust my car to the…read moredealership. But Farm Car Care is the only non-dealership auto shop that I'll go to. Even my parents go here when they don't take their cars to the dealership, and my parents are hard to please. Farm Car Care is always the cheapest in town. And just because they have the lowest prices doesn't mean the quality is cheap. They've been working on my cars for over ten years and I've never had a problem. In fact the last time I went there, I thought I needed new valve stems for my tires and Mike straight up told me mine were good. He totally could have sold me a part I didn't need, but he was honest! My brother works as an auto parts delivery driver in Vernon and recommends Farm Car Care as one of the best in this area.

He comes back and says I failed because I dont have catalytic converters .... I thought this was a joke, however he was serious. At this point I am getting really pissed especially since the ODB2 passed but he failed me on the visual CAT check...? The funny part is that the same truck passed there 1 year ago .. I have a Kooks exhaust Green cats and headers i bought years ago and it wasnt a problem. He already put me in the system as compliance fail. I told him hes an idiot and went to another test station and they laughed and passed me with no problems. The shop was FarmCare in Rockville CT ....Stay away if anyone lives near by. The Subaru Dealer I went to had no issues. He also said I have fake cats and reprogrammed the ECU to pass emissions. This is either a way to force older vehicles off the street or just malicious behavior I am starting to hear more and more stories like this on the web....
