Had an estimate done at the end of may. The hubby was impressed with Ray and so we decided to use him. I messaged Ray a few days later and asked him if we could schedule him around Aug 21. I was waiting on our house to be repainted and shutters to be installed. He said sure. I followed up about 2 weeks prior to install to make sure we are good and see what day would work. He notified me he was at the river and would get back to me the next day.. no response.. after a few days I decided to try one more time and finally got a date. Fast forward to day of install.. him and his crew show up. Husband was off and I was at work. Next thing I know the hubby is calling me asking for the estimate. I asked why and he told me Ray needed it because he's saying the bedroom wasn't included in the estimate. Now I'm trying to think of where it could be since I know my house is torn apart because of all the decorations I had to take down and cabinets I had to empty for the paint guys.. so my husband is getting more agitated as he's looking. Then he finds the little paper and sure enough, the bedroom was included. Looks like the whole downstairs minus the laundry is included as we had told him.. but after he went over his estimate he said that he forgot to include the tiny little hallway (about 5-6 feet long) by the garage.. so if we want that done.. it would be another $100. The whole house was to be done in 6" moulding and bathroom was 4" per Ray because of the vent and light wouldn't allow 6". After he shows up, he doesn't have 4" with him and tells my husband that 6" will work and then states never mind he has to go back his business to get 4" because the 6 won't fit. Also, Ray had kept telling my husband how he's getting a great deal and this and that. Definitely not a good vibe from him today. He seemed shady. The workers did a nice, clean job and very very pleasant but the owner on the other hand is not. something that struck me as weird... he was asking about payment method, he also said something about getting audited from the government. Not only did Ray and his crew do an outstanding job on our home, but they also proved to be a truly professional "one stop shop" for everything that we wanted for our home. My wife and I wanted a quote for baseboards in our home so after seeing an ad for Masters of Crown we decided to give them a try. Ray, the owner, showed up on time and couldn't have been nicer. I wasn't able to be at home for the quote since I was working so my wife was there and spoke to Ray. We also, eventually, wanted crown and new door casings. My wife figured there was no harm in asking for a quote on those items as well and then we would know how much to budget for. Well, I was floored when my wife told me what the cost would be for everything, not just the baseboards. We would end up paying close to same price for base, crown, and door casings that some friends of ours payed for crown moulding. We have two story house and they a single (both about the same square footage). So, yeah, it was a no brainer. This was our opportunity to get EVERYTHING done that we wanted. The work was completed in about two and a half to three days. The quality of work was outstanding. The crew that did the work was very courteous and professional. We highly recommend Masters of Crown. Their prices are very reasonable and the workmanship is top notch. Ray was the third contractor we contacted for an estimate for 6 inch crown molding in one of the two open areas in our home. He responded to the call within an hour and we set up an appointment for an estimate the following day. When Ray arrived we showed him the area where we wanted crown molding. He gave us an estimate and it was substantially lower than the other estimates we received. We then asked what it would cost to complete the other open area. After looking at the second area he gave us a revised estimate. The total to do both areas of our home was lower than the other estimates for only one area. We decided to go ahead and have Masters of Crown install crown in both areas. Another thing that factored into our decision to go with Masters or Crown was that the job would be done in one day. The other contractors told us they would be in our home for 2-3 days. The day the work was to be done a team from Masters of Crown arrived just before 9:00 a.m., introduced themselves, and immediately started working. They assured us the job would be finished in 6 to 7 hours. Ray came by in the late morning to make sure everything was was on schedule. Around 3:00 p.m. the team lead (Ray's son) let us know the work was complete. We did a walk through with him and everything looked beautiful.
