Front start to finish, Mike Gast and Juan Navarro worked with me to translate my vision into the bright open studio I have been dreaming of... As the project manager, Mike Gast was extremely patient and accommodating, and provided lots of feedback to solve various issues. This was a large project that involved removing the garage door, retrofitting 3 sets of doors, framing and finishing for a custom look, inside and out. They even installed special thresholds so we could be assured of being able to roll equipment in and out of the space easily. After each stage of the job, the crew cleaned up the area and removed all debris. The price quoted us initially was in line with competitors, better than several, who failed to follow up with us. There was no cost-creep, and we finished at the price quoted us. Progress and payment was tracked on their online job project site, which was an added benefit and inspired confidence. As homeowners for some 46 years, this is our first-time medium scale indoor renovation. Our purpose was to enable improved wheelchair access. We had some doorway and threshold work done, the opening up for a small bathroom to include removing the counter/sink area, and transformed our prefab (yuk) shower/tub into a master roll-in shower. We had high hopes for excellent work. Our first contact was a very helpful design professional, Hailey. We toured the house, talking about our needs; she is an excellent listener with lots of great ideas (and even some cool pics). For the largest project, the master bath, I provided plenty of my own pictures, which I think was helpful. Excited to get ready on the project, she came over again with a project manager to scope out possibilities, we made some decisions, and signed a contract then and there. Within a week, my design pro met me at the tile store (most work involved working at tile flooring areas) to look over my tile needs for the master bath. She pointed me in some lovely directions, always explaining how certain tiles would work well, or not. With beautiful samples in hand, the excitement grew! Decisions made, soon the demolition began in the master. Fidel et al were here on time, and with speed and care, very professionally covered areas (wood and tile) that led to the work area. They installed a zipper divider to keep the house clean and dust-free outside their work area. While the dog wasn't pleased with the intrusion and the noise, she soon settled in; I think she finally came to like all the guys (though, she'll never admit it). This is a very busy company, and it should be noted that scheduling demolition, the plumber (Jeremiah), a carpenter (loved Brandon), walls and thresholds (thank-you so very much, Gino), an expert tile installer (more on Anthony below), and others isn't an easy task. My husband and I both worked in jobs/professions where schedules must be made and kept to (except when the bosses make changes, a typical occurrence!!!), meaning thoughtful flexibility is key. Our MasterCraft project manager deserves congratulations on his foresight to meet his many clients' schedules (I'm sure there were tons of folks bugging him, just as we sometimes did). Another perk, we always got a text a day prior to a work team stopping in; I don't really know how he does it. Our experience exceeded our hopes. Also, if you want the best, most artistic tiling professional, you will love working with Anthony. With a flair for color and texture, he worked within our given parameters to create a beautiful roll-in shower. Let me start by saying, Mastercraft and their team is top-notch. So much so that I've recommended them to others at work (several times), sounds like those projects went well too. We just completed a massive renovation/remodel project of our parents' home and are ready to have new tenants move in. Yay! It all started with a consultation with Juan Navarro. Juan was so easy to connect and work with. First we met at the house to take a look at what the project would entail... practically everything! He was thorough in making sure he understood what was needed to start to put together a quote. We met at the showroom a couple of times to select flooring, cabinets, countertops and tile... I think he was amazed at how quickly I was able to do so. Dare I say, we had a lot of fun in the process. When it was time to finalize the quote, Juan brought Bryan Reid in to ensure we had covered everything. As we were doing the walkthrough they were great about thoroughly answering all of my questions and making key recommendations along the way. Super helpful. Unfortunately, the project manager we had, while nice, IMO wasn't PM material. My expectation was to receive periodic updates and outreach throughout the project. However, I found myself doing the outreach and scheduling periodic meetups at the house to discuss the project progress. After reaching out to Bryan and expressing my concerns, I'm so thankful that he stepped in. Whatever you're paying him, double it!! Had it not been for him and his extreme customer focus this review may have gone very differently. He takes time to listen, ask questions and follows-up as quickly as possible. He provided valid time lines and updates that helped me understand when things were needed, ready to be installed (e.g., appliances, fixtures, etc.). Most importantly, he was easy to work with and I TRUSTED him. With any construction project there are hiccups, it's just the nature of the beast. We decided to do a garage renovation that added a half bath and made the space usable as an exercise area. After a very thorough estimate process we went with Mastercraft to complete the project. We could not be happier with the decision. They did an incredible job from start to finish. Our project managers were Oscar and Brian and they were fantastic. At times I think we were a bit picky with things but they never seemed to mind and just wanted us to be happy with the end result. Ryan paid great attention to detail with his drywall work and repair. Jesse also did a great job installing all the fixtures in the bathroom, with touch up paint, and all the little things we asked for toward the end of the project. He was great about meeting every one of our requests. The contractors they used to sub out plumbing and a/c were also incredible. I hired MasterCraft Home Improvements to remodel the master bathroom in my mobile home. Charley was my Project Manager and Alfonso was my Crew Team Lead. Before, I had 2 sinks and cabinetry, a toilet, and a large, 2 bench, 2 faucet corner shower. I had just finished having the toilet removed and replaced with a walk-in tub/spa/shower. MasterCraft demoed and removed the old shower, moved the toilet plumbing, and built a toilet room with a door. They had to match the texture of the rest of the bathroom walls - and they nailed it! And you can't see one brush mark on the cabinets - they are beautiful! They fixed an eyesore problem with the large mirrors over the sinks. They installed new faucets, new lighting, new cabinet knobs, new door handle, fold away magnifying mirror, and towel bars. But what really sets this Team apart from any other remodeling team I have worked with is that they were truly a TEAM that went beyond their individual talents. We hired Master Craft to paint the inside of our house, paint the cabinets, frame in the kitchen island with shiplap, a few electrical installs, and frame in custom cabinets in place of that odd space by the fireplace. Their team was awesome. Angle who did the painting is amazing and has very straight lines. Jeremiah who did the shiplap, electrical cut-ins, and the custom cabinets (and all of the kitchen cabinet hardware) is incredible. He took his time and really made everything perfect. He did the extra things to ensure the project was perfect. He ensured all the cabinet doors sat correctly and opened and shut properly. His work on the island shiplap is crazy good. **UPDATE - 7/23/21** Updating my rating from 3 to 4 stars. First, I want to say that the level of professionalism we've received from James (also contacted by Joe) has been amazing. We met with James today for our initial design consultation, and he was very patient (we had our 3 yr old with us), asked us questions, challenged us in the best way to help us with our design decisions, and even joined us as we took a trip to a local Tile/Counter center. I could tell he was busy, but James made us feel like the only client he was working with, and it was reassuring to see him communicate with the local tile/counter vendor as it showed how much they respect him and Mastercraft. We are scheduled to have our job walk on August 2nd, so once the work is completed, I will provide one final update and likely change this from 4 to 5 stars. **UPDATE - 7/7/21 @ 4:45 PM** Shortly after writing this review, I received a call from James. He was very apologetic, provided some additional context as to why there was a disconnect, and offered to remedy the situation. Nothing is set in stone yet, but updating my review from 1 star to 3 stars (for now) as their willingness to act quickly to resolve an issue was greatly appreciated. Will provide an additional update should we decide to move forward. **Original Post** It saddens me to right this review. After contacting Mastercraft Home Improvement several weeks ago to book our consultation for our home renovation, I originally thought that this was going to be a great experience. After a great conversation with Jill (she is awesome), we were optimistic about the experience we would have. On the day of the consultation, the arrival window was between 12pm - 2pm. We were originally told that Haley would be meeting with us. Instead, we were met by Megan, who arrived late and with a negative attitude as if we were inconveniencing her. As she walked up, we greeted her, trying to remain excited about the process. Instead, it was kind of awkward, with no direction by her of what to do, how to begin, intro to Mastercraft, etc. I had to ask..."So, what should we do?" As we began through the front door, and asking her questions about paint/flooring options etc., she essentially kept saying "I'm not 100% sure, I'll have to check on that" (specifically regarding Low-VOC paint/flooring options). I won't dive into the details any further because she could have been having an off-day (which we all have), but the vibe we were getting was that we were severely inconveniencing her. Then, as we were beginning to take a look at the kitchen, I had mentioned to her our timeframe of 2-3 months to be finished. ONLY THEN did she tell us that as of last Friday (7/2), they are not taking on any new clients for 1-2 months. If I would have never brought up the time-frame, it would have never been discussed. Complete waste of time. I would have much rather appreciated that they call us and cancel the consultation, or at least gives us a heads up and let us decide if we wanted to cancel the consultation so that we could source other vendors. Obviously, the reviews for this company are great, and I imagine they do great work and take care of the entire process, but I think we just got a bad apple on the wrong day because just the consultation experience was terrible. We hired Mastercraft for our master bathroom remodel. New to the area we had more than 5 companies bid to compare. Mastercraft was not the lowest bid but was competitive in pricing. We chose them for a few reasons; 1. Numerous great reviews 2. Design center on site 3. Haley- I really liked her right off the bat when she came out to measure and bid. She was friendly, helpful and personable. I just wanted to work with her. She sealed our decision in the end. The bid was competitive, expectations and possible hiccups were discussed upfront before they could have arose. Changes to my original design were always met with an "of course, we can do that" attitude. Craftsmanship and expertise was on point. We are so very happy with our bathroom. The quality of work, communication and all of the people we worked with were great. Some guys were even hard to say goodbye to. Jason, the guy that installed the tile for the shower and accent wall was meticulous and super friendly. My kids still talk about him. Alex, the electrician, went above and beyond. He gave my son his number and helped guide him through a home project, he even dropped by after hours to help him quickly. Chris, the finisher, was also great, just a super guy and a jack of all trades. I don't want to leave anyone out because they were all wonderful. Gus, our project manager, was always accessible and made sure we were happy along the way. Brian, the plumber was knowledgeable and friendly. Rocco, the drywaller, came and went almost unseen but he even patched a wall unrelated for us on his way in/out. Same with Eddie, the floor guy. He was in and out in a jiffy. Angel, the painter came right back out to touch up something that wasn't initially done. I can't say this enough, they were all friendly, courteous of our home and of our time. All of the guys that came to work on the bathroom had glowing things to say about the owner, Joe, and his company. That right there is a reason to hire Mastercraft. They take care of their people and their customers. If I had to say anything that could have been improved on, it would be the timeline estimated for the remodel. We were told from the time materials arrived it would take 3 weeks to complete. It was a few weeks off the total project time. But remember, this is during a Pandemic and it was also over Christmas and New Years. I may have thrown a change or two to the original plans that aided the delay. Luckily it didn't put us out too much. We had Mastercraft replace our master shower/bath and fix some drywall damage after we had a water leak. The team did a phenomenal job working with us from the initial consult, through design and product choice, and to project install and completion. Haley was our initial consult and Oscar was our project planner. Both were highly responsive and helped advise us on choosing what we wanted on our project. Jeremiah was our project lead, and he did an amazing job lining up all of the separate pieces and was always available whenever we needed to talk. The final product looks amazing. This is our second home improvement job that we've had done by Mastercraft (first was a kitchen remodel that also turned out phenomenal). Mastercraft will be our first call for future projects.
