The morning of the start of the project, Alex came to go over the project with my husband to make sure they were both understanding of the work that was to be done. My husband was concerned about a drain pipe next to where the cement would be poured, and was worried about it being damaged during the dirt removal. After the dirt was removed, Alex ran water down the drain to show us that the pipe was undamaged. He listened to my husband and made sure to pour the cement a couple inches from the drain pipe, so there was no chance of any damage. Alex was also very flexible with scheduling. He was able to reschedule the cement pour day on short notice, so that my husband would be home on that day. Alex and his crew arrived on time, which I appreciate. I've had a lot of work done in the past, and it always upsets me when contractors are late. At the end of each workday, the crew cleaned meticulously to ensure the work area was clear of dirt and debris. Alex and his crew were always respectful of our property. The price was very reasonable, and I had received more than 8 bids. Alex is honest, a good communicator, and his crew are hardworking and punctual. I'd highly recommend giving Alex a call.

In my experience, it's extremely rare to work with someone who is punctual, especially a contractor or service worker. He always communicated about everything and wasn't afraid to ask follow up questions to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. His workers were very meticulous. I'm familiar with the process for this job, so I could tell they were not cutting any corners and took pride in their work. They always cleaned up at the end of every day, and never left a mess. Since I'm being accused of defamation, here is more proof…read more In my opinion, This tree was planted too deep and there was too much mulch and bark completely covering the trunk and base of the tree that we had to remove, unfortunately, this suffocated the tree according to 2 local nurseries. It didn't help that you incorrectly set our sprinkler system. My dad asked for the front yard and back yard to be set the same amount of time in morning and late afternoon, you set it so that the back yard got the highest amount of water in the morning AND afternoon and the front yard got the lower amount of water in the morning and afternoon. No wonder the tree is almost dead. Now to address your accusation of racism: How about you ask your guys that were here when the front yard was being done how often I would speak Spanish with them every time I pulled up to my house? I asked them how to say a couple things and they taught me. I enjoyed having you guys around, including you (when you were there). My post was nothing personal. I took 3 years of Spanish in high school and I always make it a point to practice when I can so I don't forget words. I can also speak a tiny bit of Vietnamese (learned about 20 years ago), tiny bit of Chinese (Mandarin- still learning), a little French and a little German. I've lived in Southern California my entire life. You only met 3 white people at my house and my whole family is an extremely mixed bunch of 3 different races. It's awfully judgmental of you to label someone as racist simply because of their skin color. Telling someone they did something wrong isn't racist, just fyi. I understand your go to "racist" comment with the way the world is right now, but it was displaced towards the wrong people. In my opinion, and the opinion of other landscaping companies that came in to complete the job and saw your work, your company's work was poor. Bottom line. Nothing personal. Just business. You could have fixed the problems (because there are more than I posted) instead of ghosting us and ignoring the issues, but you didn't. It's normal for some people to lash out and personally attack someone when they have no rebuttal for non-personal criticism. However, it's poor business practice when a customer shares their opinion based on their experience (with pictures) and instead of merely apologizing, you dig a deeper hole. Best of luck!

KRC all the way!! Thanks to Kyle and his crew, we can now enjoy our dream backyard. We don't have a big backyard and thought it would be impossible to get a pool and spa put in, especially with a small side space, but he was able to do it! We interviewed five pool contractors and we're so glad we made the right decision. Kyle is the best! He's easy to talk to, professional and friendly, he is an expert in his field. The largest tree, a Mediterranean fan palm in a 30" box, was installed expertly - showing they can handle heavy, mature trees as well. Re-Leaf wasn't the cheapest option, but I chose them based on reviews and the experience that was clear during the initial consultation. Until we met one of the officers of the City's Code Enforcement Department (via notice/warning letters) for a quick tutorial of covering the landscape areas between the public right of way sidewalks, curbs, and gutters alongside our property line. Eager to fix what we have been unaware of for months, we reached out to several landscape companies and obtained several quotes... Wow!!! What it costs to look at an appealing yard and surrounding areas!! For a moment we appreciated HOA, just for a quick second... Considering our 3 quotes, Rock, Turf, and Landscape worked with changing up materials that our budget would appreciate. They scheduled us to meet our Code Enforcement deadline (yes, we got a fix-it ticket from the City!) and landscape crew were quick to prep, complete and clean up. We didn't want to deal with maintenance or monthly landscape and water bills, so we opted for a rock landscape as it was much cheaper than fake turf. With a few minor changes, Gus was knowledgable with material and explained why, what and how we would expect to maintain. While there were more permanent solutions, it will cost more when cosmetic designs on permanent landscape come to play. Working with our budget and offering options for our needs, we were pleased to opt for rock landscape as a best fit for us based on what we expected for the long-term. The crew were friendly, professional, and courteous, especially toward heavy foot-traffic as they worked on the sidewalk areas. They had to cease work twice to accommodate heavy foot traffic on a school day, however, they were done long before our deadline! Final inspection and a walkthrough with business owner before we closed out our project and paid off what we hope will be lasting investment (curb appeal and code enforcement friendly!). Our yard…read morewas quite nice, but as we are nearing retirement there were a few changes we wanted to make it our dream yard. First, we considered a swimming pool but the cost, maintenance and several other factors changed our direction to a swim spa. We chose the AquaPlay 13FPP. Because the spa stands over 5 feet tall, we knew we wanted it set into the earth. Next: I've had Koi for many years, but all ponds so far were DIY - it was time to go all in. Plants: As you can see from the "before" photo - plants are important to us. Finally: Ease of maintenance. We wanted an incredible yard that we could enjoy without spending a bunch of time maintaining it. After obtaining several bids and meeting several contractors, we signed an agreement with Ramon. Three of the primary reasons we went with CR Pacific: 1) He was the only contractor we spoke with that had actual experience building "The Vault" - (the basement the swim spa sat in). 2) He had experience building water features and understood the basics, but building a pond of this size and mechanical requirements was new to him. 3) He has a great personality and appeared to be collaborative. The Good: Ramon proved to be quite collaborative. He had ideas, I had ideas and we worked together to land on the best ideas. We had problems arise (see "The Ugly"), but Ramon only delivered solutions or possible solutions. He owned the entirety of the project (even through at least 8 change orders). His common response to a change order: "We can do that" - and they did. From a client/contractor perspective, Ramon has great communication skills. He kept me informed every step of the way. Quality: The photos speak for themselves. Ramon was insistent on doing things right. Ramon had put around a dozen drains in the backyard properly piped to the street. I gave him a hard time as before he took the job, we only had two drains. We did experience some minor flooding when we would have the torrential rains. About a week after the project wrapped, we had several days of torrential rains - not even a puddle in the yard. The Bad: On site supervision could be better. Ramon had about 6 employees, most only spoke Spanish. Because I work from home I kept an eye on the progress. When I would see something that needed correction I had to use Google Translate to communicate with the workers. I often had to text Ramon inquiring if he was going to stop by. This was a significant, complex job. That is really my only "Bad". Clearly "The Good" far exceeds "The Bad". The Ugly: Water, water everywhere... While the vault was being dug, we started noticing water in the bottom of the hole at around 38". We spent a little over a week pumping it out. We contacted the water company who told us there did not appear to be a main break in the neighborhood. They suggested it could be groundwater. When the started digging the pond, groundwater continued to be a problem. Ramon dug and installed a permanent groundwater well - groundwater continues to be pumped out daily. Just another example of Ramon's perseverance. I highly recommend Ramon & CR Pacific for any landscape job.

Since I'm being accused of defamation, here is more proof…read more In my opinion, This tree was planted too deep and there was too much mulch and bark completely covering the trunk and base of the tree that we had to remove, unfortunately, this suffocated the tree according to 2 local nurseries. It didn't help that you incorrectly set our sprinkler system. My dad asked for the front yard and back yard to be set the same amount of time in morning and late afternoon, you set it so that the back yard got the highest amount of water in the morning AND afternoon and the front yard got the lower amount of water in the morning and afternoon. No wonder the tree is almost dead. Now to address your accusation of racism: How about you ask your guys that were here when the front yard was being done how often I would speak Spanish with them every time I pulled up to my house? I asked them how to say a couple things and they taught me. I enjoyed having you guys around, including you (when you were there). My post was nothing personal. I took 3 years of Spanish in high school and I always make it a point to practice when I can so I don't forget words. I can also speak a tiny bit of Vietnamese (learned about 20 years ago), tiny bit of Chinese (Mandarin- still learning), a little French and a little German. I've lived in Southern California my entire life. You only met 3 white people at my house and my whole family is an extremely mixed bunch of 3 different races. It's awfully judgmental of you to label someone as racist simply because of their skin color. Telling someone they did something wrong isn't racist, just fyi. I understand your go to "racist" comment with the way the world is right now, but it was displaced towards the wrong people. In my opinion, and the opinion of other landscaping companies that came in to complete the job and saw your work, your company's work was poor. Bottom line. Nothing personal. Just business. You could have fixed the problems (because there are more than I posted) instead of ghosting us and ignoring the issues, but you didn't. It's normal for some people to lash out and personally attack someone when they have no rebuttal for non-personal criticism. However, it's poor business practice when a customer shares their opinion based on their experience (with pictures) and instead of merely apologizing, you dig a deeper hole. Best of luck!

The morning of the start of the project, Alex came to go over the project with my husband to make sure they were both understanding of the work that was to be done. My husband was concerned about a drain pipe next to where the cement would be poured, and was worried about it being damaged during the dirt removal. After the dirt was removed, Alex ran water down the drain to show us that the pipe was undamaged. He listened to my husband and made sure to pour the cement a couple inches from the drain pipe, so there was no chance of any damage. Alex was also very flexible with scheduling. He was able to reschedule the cement pour day on short notice, so that my husband would be home on that day. Alex and his crew arrived on time, which I appreciate. I've had a lot of work done in the past, and it always upsets me when contractors are late. At the end of each workday, the crew cleaned meticulously to ensure the work area was clear of dirt and debris. Alex and his crew were always respectful of our property. The price was very reasonable, and I had received more than 8 bids. Alex is honest, a good communicator, and his crew are hardworking and punctual. I'd highly recommend giving Alex a call.
