It took us a minute to commit to building a pool but once we did I looked for local Reviews on Facebook pages and then crossed referenced those reviews on Yelp. We stated with 5 contractors and by the time we got through all 5 I knew Kyle was the best choice. His quote was not only the best of 5 but also offered the best design. Kyle has a laid back personality but also was so knowledgeable in building pools he just made everything feel stress free from the day he came over to discuss ideas for we had in mind. Kyle didnt discourage any ideas and also offered his professional creativity. Once we started the dig Kyle stayed on top of the entire schedule. As nosey as I wanted to be to figure out "whats next" Kyle already had the next process started, week by week until we were done. He also worked with really great subcontractors, every crew that came on site was so nice, respectful and just seemed to be open to communicate if i had questions or curiosity. I never thought I'd love and enjoy the space as much as I do now and im soo thankful we chose Kyle as our contractor. Hands down the easiest contractor to work with. Kyle worked with us over the process from initial design and estimate to changing the plan 3 times and then the actual start and finish of the job. He did everything he said he would do and then some. We had him lay down some stamped concrete, artificial turf, a gas stone faced fire pit, and planted some palms and mulch. They responded to my estimate request that they are booked for the next three months without providing a quote. I responded that I wasn't ready either but in the planning stages and asked for a rough estimate range and included a photo. They didn't even respond. The fact that they didn't respond is pretty lousy customer service. If I were a contractor and I knew the square footage and I had a photo, I could probably give a rough estimate very quickly. I doubt that I will be contacting them in the future. read more

Kyle had done a lot of work in our community, and since our initial landscaper/contractor just stopped responding to e-mails, we figured we'd give K. Rainey Contracting a try. Considering that the cold season was ahead of us, we placed plans for pool and spa on pause, and decided to go with something simple, i.e. grass and mulch for our backyard, until we know what we actually want (and to appease our HOA). Kyle is a really great guy and super easy to deal with. As he has done plenty of jobs previously in our community, we had ample time and opportunity to get acquainted with his work and work ethics. I love the fact that he will go to each and every one of his sites himself and dig in and work - any day, all day. So he did our backyard: we could not be happier! His guys were able to start earlier than expected and they finished the job much sooner than predicted, too. We found K. Rainey Construction after meeting with 4 or 5 other contractors. Kyle (owner) agreed to meet with us on a Saturday morning and discuss our ideas for a backyard dream. Our backyard was dirt, weeds, and a fairly large slope. We wanted to push the slope back, add a retaining wall, fire pit, BBQ, and some other wants. Kyle took out ideas and ran with it. He offered some suggestions to keep costs lower and together we had our plans! We were excited and he got started within a week. A month later our dream backyard was complete thanks to Kyle and his guys! Kyle moved as quickly as he could and was easy to work with. He never imposed his preferences onto our yard and only offered suggestions to us. Other contractors we meet were basically were selling us other backyards they did. Not Kyle. We had a drainage issue on the side of our home and also needed a sidewalk poured in the same area. We called Kyle, he responded to our call quickly and came out to give us a bid shortly thereafter. We had 2 other contractors give us bids but their solution to our drainage issue did not make sense. Kyle had the right solution, he and his crew did a great job putting in the drains and pouring a 4' wide by 60' long sidewalk. read more

Don't bother calling them for smaller jobs. We wanted to put in a concrete patio and Mr. Rainey quoted us a price around $1,500. We thought the price was fair and he accepted the job. He explained that he had a larger project starting the following week but thought he could fit us in. He told us this during his visit and also tentatively offered 2 scheduling options via email. We said either date was fine. He said he would call us in a couple of days to confirm. We never heard from him again. I understand that larger jobs will take priority because they make him more money. I get it. What I don't get is the lack of common courtesy to let us know he would not be available. read more
