Seth from MasterTech did a great job on my plumbing issue today. He was very thorough, explained things well, and a pleasure to work with. I had a complicated issue with the water pressure in my shower that required redoing some of the plumbing in the wall. The work was a great success. I'm also on a maintenance plan with this company where they come out 3 times a year to inspect plumbing, heating, and air. There is also a discount for being on the plan. These free maintenance visits give me a lot of peace of mind and I have not ever felt they were trying to sell me on something. read more

I called out Mastertech for plumbing issues and Logan came out. He reviewed so many issues I was concerned about and gave me a great plan on what to address first and got to work on the things we decided to do same day. He was patient and kind! When I mentioned I wanted some eyes on our 30+ year HVAC system he got a hold of CJ who came out within the hour to assess our system. Again - super knowledgeable and answered all my questions and sent a bid and noted they could complete a whole system overhaul the next day! CJ even answered some last minute questions via text for me while I was deciding on which system to select. The next day Tyler x 2 came out to install our new efficient system + a new wifi-enabled thermostat! They worked on it all day and were super respectful of the space. At the end of the day they walked me through setting up my account and app for my new thermostat and showed me the work they did in the basement, including fixing some loose ductwork! I'm sticking with mastertech - I was very impressed with everyone from the office staff to billing to the onsite folks. TY! read more

If I could give a zero, I would. they don't know basic math. If you have a pipe that is 160 feet you snake out 100 see an issue, knowing our pipe is 160ft sell the owner to fix that issue and they do, after the owner asked them to snake the rest they said it was ok. They said it was good and they did not snake the rest of the pipe.So we have magic roots that appeared after three months on a Saturday. For a job in the house and to fix the pipe outside, we paid them over $6000. I don't mind paying the emergency fee for coming on the weekend of $90 but they charged us $270 to come out and snake the rest of the pipe the technician hit the roots at 50 feet from the 80 feet mark of the house that adds up to 130ft and he even confirmed that he knew the line was 160 feet. I will never use them again and do not recommend them at all like I said basic math. read more

I was led to believe that mastertech was a reputable company that stood behind their work. Far from the truth! After paying 3500 to replace all of my sewer lines under my manufactured home, I find out they didn't hang it property. They didn't glue the pipes together, I have sewer draining onto the ground under my house. They used the pipes that were already there instead of replacing them like I paid for. The biggest issue I have is that I can't even use my washing machine drain because they said they fixed the draining issue it was having and the only thing they did was break the pipe off in the wall so it would drain. When I called and said it was draining inside the wall, they charged another 150 to come out and tell me that to fix it would cost me another 800 at least. So they refuse to stand by any warranty that they give. read more

This company is ripping people off. I got charged 167 dollars for a job that took less than 15 minutes to complete. He literally replaced a washer and used a zip tie! Even Mastertech's own serviceman was shocked at the price after he calculated it into his ipad and said this does not make any sense. He said we can call the company, which we did and we were connected to an extremely rude woman who said "this is why we send a technician out to give an estimate before we start the job WHICH HE DID NOT DO. Basically she told us there is nothing we can do and this is the price we have to pay. The serviceman was helpful and some-how got 30 dollars off of the price. I had a sewer back up. Technician quoted $200 to snake drain/clear clog. Halfway through he stated he needed to go to his truck to get a longer snake. When finished, he charge $300 b/c he needed to use longer snake. He never explained this when he said he needed to go to his truck, but he knew he had me over a barrel. Then they sent another guy to camera the lateral. He told me the pipes had been laid very wrong, it was not up to code, I could expect regular future back-ups if not repaired, and wanted $4720 to fix. This is a new construction less than a year old. I called the city, because they inspect all new construction plumbing, and had signed off on it. They maintained it had been laid according to code. I called 2 other plumbing companies to camera this drain. Neither could find anything wrong, and refused to consider repair b/c they could find nothing wrong. They said that if what Mastertech said was wrong was actually wrong, it shouldnt cost more than $2000. But they did not want my money to fix what was not broken. I called Mastertech again and asked technician why his price was so high. He changed his story and said it would take 10 hours and my whole yard would need to be dug up, not just near the driveway which was his original story.I asked why he thought the other plumbers didnt want the job. He said they just dont like to dig that deep!!! He then suggested that he saw my clean out down to almost ground level and then drill holes in it so that if water backed up, it wouldnt come into my house. The guy at the city said no one should ever ever do this. These guys in my opinion are total liars and robbers. When I started asking too many questions, they flounced off. I have used Mastertech on two occasions, and I have found them to be a very good company for my plumbing needs. Matt was my technician this time, and he was helpful, professional, and went out of his way to resolve my issue.I don't recall the name of my first technician a month ago on a separate issue, but he was equally professional and helpful as well. After being visited from 2 very friendly representatives at my business I decided to switch all of my plumbing needs over to master tech. We have many throughout the year and can be a great revenue for a plumbing company. The first issue I have I am visited by an incredibly rude and uninformative plumber. He has no idea about the rewards plan I signed up for with master tech and says he will call and find out what it is, he does not. He can give me no answer on if or when my problem will be fixed. Then he charges me $55 for being here for 5 minutes. When I inform him i am upset with the service and this is not what i was told service would be like his exact words were "i don't care and that doesn't effect me." I will not be paying them their "service fee" because the service was him coming in, not having a solution and being rude. What a let down this company is! Chad from MasterTech showed up, fixed it with some real effort, and then replaced some old, corroded hookups, greatly improving the situation. Chad was very professional, and just a good guy. I called on a Tuesday and asked if someone could come by the next morning to look at my AC and they were able to get me in first thing the next morning. The staff member that took my call was extremely kind from start to finish. I received​ a call about 8:05 the next morning and Corey arrived about 40 minutes later. Corey introduced himself right off the bat and went straight to looking for the issue. We had several questions about our unit and setup and he was very knowledgeable​ and easy to talk to. He didn't act like he was in a hurry or didn't want to answer our questions at all. He took the time to wander around and look at some things with us and give his expert opinion. I had a leaking pipe In my wall behind the kitchen sink. We called MasterTech to come out. Since I drive a truck, I was not here when they showed up, but my wife was. I spoke with the plumber assigned to the job, over the phone and informed him of where I thought the leak was. He checked and sure enough, broken pipe. He said it would be easier to cut the pipe, and reroute it through the cabinet. I said he could access the area better if he would go out in the sunroom and come through the wall out there by removing the siding and cutting through the wall. He said it would be better to go through the cabinet and splice into an existing access point from a previous job. I said to do what he thought was best, that the water leak had to be fixed. He removed the cover from the existing access point and cut into the drain pipe with a saw, and spliced the rerouted pipe in. The leak was fixed, however, the saw used put two slits in the bathroom wall which is directly behind the drain pipe. Also, the vibration from the saw apparently knocked loose some build up in the drain pipe, and we are now dealing with a kitchen sink and dishwasher that will not drain. We called them back out to address this problem, and after being asked to reschedule ( which would require us to miss another day of work) they informed us that a different plumber would address the situation. When he showed up, he called and said he didn't see where his associate did anything that would cause this and that in order for him to snake the drain, he would have to charge an additional $172.00 on top of the $534.00 charge on the original visit. I spoke with this plumber as well as the manager the next day, they refused to fix the problem they created, and the manager even said that I could not PROVE that his plumber caused this issue. While he is right, common sense says that he did, since I have never had a drain issue in this kitchen for the 13 years we have lived in this house, nor did I have an issue with draining prior to his plumber working on this pipe. While the manager acknowledged that his plumber may have caused this issue by using the saw, he said that I could not prove it, and therefore they would not fix this new issue without full price payment. These people are WAY overpriced, and look for the easiest way for themselves to do a job as opposed to the right way to do the job. If you are in need of a plumber, I would STRONGLY suggest you find someone else. One other point, they left the existing leaking pipe in the wall with no cap, saying it would be too difficult to remove it nor did they cover the huge opening they cut In my cabinet wall. I called MasterTech on the recommendation of a former employee of theirs. My gas main to my house has been struck by lightning and the gas company says I need a new gas pipe, a pressure test and a furnace check. I explained this when I called and told them my house is on a crawl space. My first complaint is they sent 2 gentlemen each no less than 300 pounds to check my crawl space gas pipe. NEITHER COULD FIT. Today I called to have them come back, with smaller guys, to do the job. I explained my insurance company sent the check to the bank and if they would se d the bill to them or even stop by with the I voice they could have their funds immediately. If not we could not do business together. They refused my $1000+ because it meant extra steps for them. No wonder they have plumbers who can't bend down. I will never call them back. read more

This is an update on the service from 3 weeks ago by MasterTech plumbing on 11/10/20- Our water heater was leaking. To install the pipe was very costly, $561.00 for 90 minutes, but it needs taken care of properly and promptly. If there is still a leak, I will call them back to repair it again. 11/13/20 - I reached out again as the water heater started leaking again after two days. I was told that there was a 90-day warranty. They sent out another plumber to view the problem. Nothing was fixed or repaired. I was told that I would need a new water heater and the cost would be $4000.00 for the heater and to remove the pipes and put the pipes back in. To say the least, I was very upset that I just paid 561.00 to have a copper pipe that was 6" long cut and replaced with a plastic blue pipe. All of the couplings were takin off and now have a chopped up pipeline. 12/2/20 - I have investigated myself the cost of a 40 gal. water heater that is ceramic on the inside, it is 460.00 at Lowes. I have contacted another plumber who will install the water heater for $500.00. That is taking out the 130-pound water heater, take out the pipes, put in the heater, and put the pipes back into place. I have a water softener nearby. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU CONTACT THIS COMPANY! I was in a hurry as we were having guests for our wedding that weekend. I was very displeased paying $560.00 for something that NEVER GOT FIXED! I will NEVER CALL this company again for any of my needs. I immediately called Master Tech's 24 hour service and they said they would have a technician come to my house in an hour. Seth arrived in less than an hour. I am almost as disappointed at MasterTech as I am at myself!! I feel like an idiot! I paid $1,033 (parts only, $1,126.24 total) for a Turbo 200 Universal Dual Capacitor ($62 from Amazon) and a 1/4 HP Outdoor Fan Motor ($142 at Sears). It was 95F outside and we needed it done quickly for personal reasons. But again, I feel like an idiot for trusting MT would charge a reasonable price. A company that hustles its clients so badly (by charging FIVE TIMES the cost of the parts!!!) because the client needs the job done, and that same company relies on clients who do not check if they are being way overcharged (again, I am an idiot for that!!), they don't deserver anybody's busynesses. At least, not my business ever again. read more

After calling my regular plumbers number, I am greeted by a rep from master tech, apparently master tech has acquired my old plumbers number after he retired. I agreed to have them out for a check on our leaky water heater. CJ was super friendly. But the quote to replace our water heater was just insanely high. I had a friend who just used their service, so I called her to see what she paid for her new water heater...... My quote was $830 more than hers (plus they came to her house on a weekend) for the exact same thing. And I know this because she send me the quote they gave her and I compared the two.... And they are EXACT! ..... That does not make for "mighty nice people"! read more

The fees are really high, their fee for unclogging a simple drain was $179. I looked online and i can buy the same machine the guy used for slightly more than that, which I'll be doing instead of ever having to call them again. What really annoyed me was I needed a better fitting for my pipe under the sink. He charged me $54 for a 3 minute pipe replacement! He basically just screwed a new one on. I didn't expect it to be free but he really gouged me for a very simple job. All this despite the fact that I had been paying a monthly fee to be part of their preferred customer program. I canceled my membership and doubt I'll call them back. You guys lost a customer, congrats. read more

I would say that Master-tech did a great job getting us scheduled in a timely manner and did a great job on the plumbing part of the job. Unfortunately, when using their equipment they did hit the side of our house damaging the siding when placing the dirt back near the house. It took months with their insurance to get everything settled. Their insurance was only required to pay the depreciated value of what our siding was worth instead of what it was going to cost to fix the damage, so we were going to have to pay out of pocket. We did end up having to file through our homeowners insurance to get everything taken care of. We had our plumbing done in August 2019. After going through the craziness with whether or not the damage was going to be filed through insurance on Master-techs part or if they were just going to pay for it out of pocket, we weren't able to get all the damage fixed and completed until April, 2020. It was definitely a long process on the plumbing companies part deciding what they were going to do. I will say that Chris was great with staying in communication with us on updates prior to them turning it in to their insurance. It look them about 3 months to finalize them going through their insurance and us having to decide to take the next step further letting our homeowners insurance take over because it was just too much for just us to handle without getting screwed over. Luckily someone was home during while they were doing the plumbing. The reason I say this is because when the house was hit, the plumber tried covering up the damage of the siding by hitting it back down with a hammer like nothing ever happened. I would say if you have this company do your plumbing, make sure someone is home in case an accident like this happens, but know that their insurance policy is only required to pay the depreciate value of what damage they do. read more
